I think the lack of enthusiasm is that they’ve introduced so many characters with no follow ups, which has made fans apathetic to new and returning characters
Exactly, I was super excited when I saw x men, then I remembered I won't see a follow up to this probably for another 4 years.
I agree they should've opt to focus on a select few characters like mystics art characters or the "space" involved characters
The Nightcrawler attack in the Whitehouse is still one of the coolest scenes in any comicbook movie.

Kelsey Grammer is perfect as Beast. The character even shares som similarities with Frasier- refined, sophisticated, a lover of art, reading etc. So excited to see him back.

I don’t like Grammer at all as Beast. He has the parlance down but that’s it. Beast is supposed to have not only an impressive vernacular but also a warmth about him that Grammer lacks. I don’t see how any fan of Beast thinks Grammer fits the role. He’d be a good dark beast 🥸

It's very hard to get excited about these movies when some of them are half a decade away.
This has to be my biggest issue with character introductions... it's tiring waiting this long for them to finally come to big screen.
“I hope Kevin Feige does this right” THAT RIGHT THERE is why a lot of people are not caring too much about this post credit scene. The mcu has had such a spotty track record recently that at this point, it doesn’t matter what they’re teasing and how big it is, because there will always be hesitation to get excited out of fear that they might mess it up.
Literally. If this happened 5 years ago, this is all people would be talking about. But we have had multiple Multiverse cameos and teases and either they have been really good with fans wanting a Sequel to those movies or they kill them off and waste them or... it's a Boner Joke. 😐
I've done this rhodeo to many times now to get excited. I'll have to see it be great to believe it can be great, unfortunately.

@@Jack-gs4fiCouldn’t agree more. For some reason during this movie they made Fury a babysitter for the Khan family. I didn’t like this movie at all and the end credit scenes didn’t do much for me either. To introduce the X-Men in another alternative universe felt like just another attempt at getting some fans to see a poorly told MCU movie. Like the original poster said “I hope Kevin Feige does this right - IMO that means, stopping the current course. Slowing down and writing better scripts/stories/characters that all have the same end goal and intertwine in a meaningful and smart way. With only 1 MCU property due to release in 2024, and many reshoots on the way I’m quietly optimistic that he’s finally doing it.
As a huge X-Men fan I really want to be excited about this but I'm kinda hesitant because of the quality of recent MCU content and the two X-Men fake outs we've already had. If I could be sure this was the actual Fox X-Men universe and not a random variant I'd be far more excited.
There was definitely a row of chaps at my screening that couldn't contain themselves when Beast came on screen. I immediately noticed that he appeared to be the animated series version. I thought he looked really cool. If Cyclops and the rest of the team come in with their animated series customs I would be pumped. We can ditch the black leather, it was a product of its time and we don't need to go back there yet.

Cuz she’s not a big enough deal. The actress and the character so she’ll take what she can get. Had they cast her as Storm or something then she would be an actual cool character and she’d only have to ever play that.

Think if phase 4 and 5 were executed better building off one another, developing characters like they did in phase1-3(not leaving them to hang as it seems they are doing), and having a clear direction maybe we be more excited for this reveal. Also doesn’t help the delays and how long it’s taking. Btw thank you for whoever gave me a membership ❤️. Right now just excited for Deadpool 3 and love what they did with Loki!
Everything is so convoluted now I can’t keep track of any of these character timelines. It’s truly a multiverse of madness lol.

Na, it has something to do that we all are pretty scared what Marvel will do with the X-Men and this time we aren’t fooled by super small teases. I would think. X-amen is so important and big, I think everyone just wants to see the whole thing and some sprinkles somewhere

I would like Rogue starting as a villain and stealing someone's power and having her redemption arc later. I will be bold and say she should steal from whoever wears those bands... what if somebody stole those bands from Binary and Rogue stole from them? Or what if she stole from the Carol Danvers of this universe and that Carol is already in a coma? If this Beast is inspired by the 90's cartoon, maybe Rogue already stole Carol's power (like in the cartoon) and now Maria is the new Cap/Binary.
She has to steal captain Marvels powers like the comics

in order for her to be as strong and powerful as she was, she needs to absorb Carol's powers. although after that carol came back even more powerful

i agree!! and i can imagine anna paquin being that, esp in the comics, rogue first appeared as a 40yearold woman. it’s only in the animated series that she’s presented a lot younger and more of a bombshell
I feel like the problem with recent MCU movies is that there does not seem to be any continuity. I do not feel the saga is developing, it is merely a collection of random events that apparently had to lead somewhere. The reason why I don't feel excited about the post credit scene is that it looks like a last minute addition and knowing Marvel these days, it is likely they don't have any clue what this post-credit scene means. The fact that the room is exactly like the one from Fox's Xmen and Beast's face is mostly shadowed (was the actor even there or did he give his line in front of a green screen?) further proves this point.

I absolutely love the Binary suit! I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it. It feels like a pretty good mix of comics accurate and MCUified suits.
The basic design was fine, it was the fit that was terrible. It looked like it was thrown together at the last minute and they didn't have the time to tailor it to the actress.
I noticed binary had both the bangles on too.
No one knows who Binary is that’s why, she wasn’t even Binary for very long befor they switched her name to War bird, …..I just hope they don’t screw up any more of Chris Claremont’s creativity

Saw the movie last night with family and I really enjoyed it specially the fight scene in the third act, thought it was choreographed really well. When Beast showed up in the post credit scene, the audience gasp and got really excited.
I loved these cameos and the movie in general. Beast looked like he came right out of X-Men #1 by Jim Lee!
I've always thought Kelsey Grammer was brilliant casting for Beast and I'm glad he's back (at least for a bit) but I see ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why he's CG. His new design looks very achievable in makeup and would look better done practically.

Ending of the Marvels made no sense to me. Why didn't Monica pull the portal closed with light string from her end(616)? Feels like excuse to bring in X-Men.
Also how did kamala not get overwhelmed when wearing two quantum bands when dar-benn exploded when she wore it?
It was really weird for me that Monica didn't think of that . She was supposed to be Professor Marvel and the smartest of the 3.
Why would she go through an unknown area when she can pull the edges of the jump point from her end. Seems common sense to me

That’s the reason! The MCU has given us quite a lot of duds recently, so it’s hard to be excited about anything they do now.
Literally all they have to do is stick to the comics source as close as possible. That's the blueprint of success.
All fans want is to see their comics-accurate heroes with their comics-accurate stories on the big screen.

I never expected them to bring Kelsey Grammer back or introduce Binary at such an early stage.
I love how they brought back Kelsey Grammer as the original Beast instead of Nicholas Hoult as an homage to Kevin Feige's involvement with the original X-Men films. That's where he got his start at Marvel after working for the Donners.
I feel like Astonishing X-Men is the best route for the MCU anything other than that is just asking for a disaster. Astonishing was literally one of the best selling X-Men runs ever for a reason!
Let's hope they resist the urge to redo the phoenix saga again..

@@emanthescripter1076 no the cartoon was what made the 90’s comic’s so popular. Look up the sales between each. Astonishing by Joss Whedon is literally top tier publishing and distribution numbers when it comes to comics sales.

I want to see storm in her all white costume from the animated series. I like that costume. It makes her look like royalty! 😍
That's my favorite of her uniforms. I could see her wearing it for ceremonial purposes, but it's not very practical in combat. I think her Krakoa-Era all-black uniform with the red X on the waist would be a great alternative.
The fact that we are even having a conversation about whether Disney has the vfx technology & budget to recreate Beast for a movie when almost 20 years ago we had Davy Jones by the same studio, with VFX that look insane compared all the recent MCU movies, it’s a joke!!!!!

We had Starfox in Eternals that hasnt gone anywhere.
We had Mordo that didnt go anywhere in end of Dr Strange 1.
We had portal/Clea in Dr Strange 2 that hasnt gone anywhere.
We had Hercules in Thor that hasnt gone anywhere.
We had Venom in Spider Man No Way Home that hasnt gone anywhere
We had that guy from Better Call Saul in the end of SpiderMan, hasnt gone anywhere.

Well, let's be fair here, most of the examples you mentioned were setups for sequels to those particular movies or other movies that aren't scheduled to come out for a while. The way Adam was teased at the end of GOTG 2, having him show up outside of the next GOTG movie wouldn't have made sense. He was of course in the next sequel. Starfox also was a setup for a potential Eternals' sequel that hasn't happened yet. Clea was about the incursions which won't have a real payoff until "Avengers: Secret Wars". What else that has come out since Multiverse of Madness (movie or TV) would Clea showing up have made sense? Hercules was 100% a setup for another Thor movie. The Venom appearance in No Way Home was a direct tie-in to that movie and it sets up the symbiote for another Spider-Man movie. With Mordo, I agree for the most part. But, he was setup as a villain for a Dr. Strange sequel and Wanda was the villain in the next Dr. Strange movie and there hasn't been a third. With Scorpion in Home Coming, I see that as more of an Easter egg than a setup for anything. Given the plots of the next two Spidey movies, he would have seemed forced in the second one and would have made no sense in the third one.

No, it's because this is the third time they have tried to use Xmen to prop up their own franchise. And every single time they have gleefully made audiences wish we had never watched it. People WERE excited... Until you turned Evan Peters into a bohnner joke. People were willing to forgive and then you made us watch Patrick Stewart go through one of the most horrible treatments anyone has ever gotten in the entire MCU.
Hi Grace, I think people did not care about x men is because they have been teased 2-3 times already and not much has happened. People have been burned out.

I just now got out of the movie. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't so serious but kept me in the marvel universe well. I had such a good time. 🙂

I think this is similar to the problem DC is having. They should just let go of previous versions of the characters and start over. It’s making everything messier.

The only part of this cameo that felt a little weird was why would Binary (a non mutant) would bring Monica (another non mutant) to Xavier's school (mutants)
Wouldn't she rather take Monica to the avengers?
Or maybe Monica is a mutant or they suspect she is a mutant.
I see where you're coming from. It's possible that the Avengers don't exist in that universe, so the X-Men are the only team that Maria could go to for help. Plus, in the comics, all of the superhero teams help each other out where they can (the beauty of a shared universe).
There are lots of non mutant X-men characters, always has been. It's never been one or their rules you have to be a mutant to be on them (Binary was on the X-men for a short time), same as mutants (including Beast) can be Avengers. For all we know this is a version of Beast who is an Avenger just like in the comics.
I think its more people are nervous for how the xmen are handled. A not very well rendered (imo, although I didnt watch the animated series yet) version of beast being their first true appearance understandably makes some worried.
You know why people are actually nervous and it has nothing to do with rendering.

Apart from my friend and I, who are two huge X-Fans, 2 other guys erupted in cheers and loud applause when Beast showed up in our screening. Most people don't know about binary though.
As for Deadpool 3, I have a sneaking feeling that Deadpool might go the route of "Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe" but with Fox and Universal characters as a gag (the Punisher/Ghost Rider movies that didn't work, or even Eric Bana's hulk, and the Fant4stic cast)

My group went with low expectations & enjoyed the movie. We gasped, jaws dropped hearing Hank's voice & also seeing Binary

My excitement is subdued because I am nervous as hell for the X-Men in the MCU.

My only reason to be excited about the X-Men in the MCU was that I wanted them to interact with iconic avengers like Iron Man, Cap, Hulk and such, and that I wanted more comic accurate versions of the characters.
By now I have no interest in this, most of the MCU characters I would have wanted to see interact with the X-Men are gone and the MCU isn't really comic accurate anymore, so why should I care about more characters and stories getting ruined? Especially when now it's characters and stories that I like.

I would love for the XMen to have their own universe in Marvel, the XCU. I was happy to see they were in a separate, parallel universe.

but the main mcu already have a few mutants running around. so maybe, xmen as a team are exclusive from a specific universe? like how fantastic four are the only heroes present in their universe
When it comes to the X-Men in the comics, they rarely crossover with the other heroes unless it's a big comic event.

In my theater (including me) everyone was screaming when beast appears.
Ok I loved seeing beast back but I was one that didn’t know anything about binary but after watching this deep dive into her I’m more excited to see her now!! Love the actress also
The issue is you cant attach a post credit scene to a bad movie. You can only build hype from a post credit scene if its after a good movie. I love the x-men but they should have saved that scene for a better movie.

Surprisingly, I really like this movie. Alongside Loki, it restored my love for the MCU after Love and Thunder and Quantamania.

there still armor wars, shang chi 2, doctor strange 3, black panther 3, spider-man 4 etc
tbh, if we take out the series, we can have a bit of space to breath. just like how early mcu days where we only get 2 movies per year max. but ofc, with the series, it will be hard to do that. maybe 1 movie and 1 series per year is enough.
Lack of excitement? maybe on socials where everyone wants to posture, because 3 for 3 showings of the Marvels, I heard whole room audible gasps in awe when Beast shows up.

I loved this end credit scene. Hearing the score from the Fox film was amazing. I know we heard the animated series theme before but the fox score had me in the feels. The xmen are returning. I hope we see them later on in the MCU.

Days of Future Past is still my favorite in the entire saga you got the best of both timelines in that movie. It was really great. For me the final action sequence in that movie is the most X-Men feeling scene in the whole series.

when they played the 90s x-men theme in multiverse of madness, i had to focus hard to keep my reaction sensible for a theater with people in it, if they want to draw more from that cartoon i am very much here for it
