I've been listening to Jocko for a few years now, and wouldn't you know, my father is Eli Tucker. A swell of pride just came over me hearing my father's name mentioned here.
It’s crazy to think that JD Baker was my front door neighbor from 2004-2010. I knew he was a sniper but didn’t know how much of a bad ass he was. I actually joined the Marine Corps because of him
Cold Steel 1/6 ‘96-00 Badass to serve with you Baker. You were and still remain one of most influential Marines in my 4yrs 👊🏼 Semper Fi Brother … Great Podcast Jocko! New sub
The Civil War Excursion series has been fantastic. As a non-American I never had much interest in the Civil War but JD is a fantastic at making it come to life. Great work again!

1:52 and lighting strikes close by the thunder rolls. You give me the heebie jibbies when you do that. It works the other way too Dad said "What you do, reflects on me." Amen - May he rest in peace. We have to pick up the torch and run with it when those who have gone before have given their all for our country, our brotherhood is our duty & "for the love of God."
Take a drink every time you hear “know what I mean” and a shot every time you hear “phenomenal”-kidding. These stories are priceless. Thanks again for sharing.

And he talks back or does not want to comply or cooperate. I want to be able to communicate and sort out the issues and what’s blocking us from proceeding. Not screaming or being physical. And those already are not a natural tendency. And that reaffirmation is on point.)
The way JD Baker put it going to Marine Corps boot camp is how I felt about going to Army BCT it was like summer camp for me since I was in scouts made Eagle scout in 2011.
Listening to this as my goodnight story time & jockos comment about the 70s short shorts. “Yup that’s what we were doing !’ 😂 that quiet humor just got me laughing myself awake 😊
General Gray was a great Commandant. But, he had a squirrelly side, too: At one point, he supposedly wanted the infantry to start wearing berets. Thank God that didn't go through. Leave those Euro-lids to the other branches. ;-)
I grew up in Bath county, we played milboro springs in little league base ball.they were all way taller than us and A few of them had 5 o'clock shadows
I appreciate the professionalism with individual takes on life with through the Marines, and other service branches. Each are important, and collectively makes one of the greatest militarized forces. I am going to give it all I got when I get to OCS. Bring it! I think the military gone soft anyways without any war.
I’m so jealous of recruits who can watch videos like this and see that their drill instructors are just human beings lol…i could’ve used this in 98 at Paris island lol..
Love the content, sir. You always have interesting individuals. Have you ever asked Gen. James Mattis on? After reading “Callsign Chaos,” I feel it falls in line with your books.
I so wish I would have signed up as soon as I turned 18 . Now I'm 21 and a felon so I'll never be able to serve here . I would do anything just to be a grunt and see combat.
Interesting about his 97 MEU to Tirana Albania. I was with VMGR-252 (C-130 Squadron at Cherry Pt) We few over there with some grunts and operated out of Sigonella back and forth to Albania CH46's would pick up evacuees from the embassy and take them to an airport and we would fly them from the airport in Albania to Brindisi Italy.... We only took 2 planes. He coulda been on the one I was on. Then we went to Congo when that deal was over. I retired in 2012 and went into Wildland fire. One of the first things I noticed was how the leadership principles almost mirror the Marine Corps leadership principles. It made my transition to civ life much easier. I humped more miles in the 4 years I fought fire than I did in 20 yrs in the Marine Corps. LOL. Looking FWD to the Civil War stuff.
Yeah.. EXPECTED Mass Casualty Events At Desert Storm We Were A MASH, National Guard.. Pulled In To Front Line Duty With 3rd Armored Because We Had ReAl World Experience.. Our Dr And Nurses Worked Inner City Emergency Rooms In New Orleans.. We Were The Best The Army Had... AND.. It Wouldn't Have Been Enough.
Yo Jocko, I won the meme war and am a prize winning mindfuck meme artist, for a reasonable fee and some help with my Love interest Green Beret chick crisis I'll level up Echelon Front to some unbelievable stuff. As you know of course, you sent her some products to unbox, and my family has done work with y'all. Yeah, I know.

JD "Ya know what I mean" Baker. The Civil War 6 part series was amazing though. Need to have these 2 Gents keep it going.

I remember my first run in VA with JD. Semper Fi. That was 20 years ago.
The amount of time he says, "phenomenal" and "it was like camp"😂❤
The way JD Baker put it going to Marine Corps boot camp is how I felt about going to Army BCT it was like summer camp for me since I was in scouts made Eagle scout in 2011.

Good to hear a fellow west virginian. From southern part of the state. Currently in the AF!
The French Foreign Legion is right up there with the Marine Corps when it comes to building esprit de corps.
General Gray was a great Commandant. But, he had a squirrelly side, too: At one point, he supposedly wanted the infantry to start wearing berets. Thank God that didn't go through. Leave those Euro-lids to the other branches. ;-)
I think we do in fact know what you mean 😂
The only thing that missing from the welcome in Maine was the ping pong balls; reference About Face, Colonel David Hackwort.
I don’t know about you guys but I can’t seem to figure out what this guy means.
Was in Oki... stopped in Subic on the way over to the gulf same exact time & at the mine fields as well.... lots of burning oil fields...

I grew up in Bath county, we played milboro springs in little league base ball.they were all way taller than us and A few of them had 5 o'clock shadows
I was stationed on mcas new river in 2004 and Geiger was ghetto then... I could only imagine back in 87
Is this the episode where Jocko talks about vertigo? If so could someone please time stamp it for me?

Seabag with lips that used to be a badass😂🙈
Damn, the irony. PRINCIPAL
Didn't John J. Rambo say the same?
About the last bit when he talks about slave labor, Jocko probably owns an iPhone.
Powered by Jocko fuel SLICK…
Let's not see Jocko doing pull ups in the background!
He has GOT to get a handle on the "You know what I mean" vocal filler. It detracts from his overall message.
i need to learn more English to undertand all
First
Civil war. That's cool
Yo
Lol he wasn’t coordinated enough to play basketball so throw him on a wrestling mat. I’m guessing that didn’t turn out too well.
