They've faced the dark side&had grown beyond it and balanced themselves in the Force. Kyle Katarn is considered the Deputy GrandMaster and the current BattleMaster as he had proven himself in battle against multiple Sith warriors in releasing the spirits in the Valley of the Jedi. Actually the best place for them is Tython as they're knowledgeable on both the Light&Dark side of the force that they can balance themselves but lean more on the light side. Other than their paranoid character, Revan could be considered a Master for the Sentinel Shadow.
I agree about the Jedi needing to adapt more in general to learn practial things as well as the force and lightsaber combat. I would personally want to be able to understand both sides of the force well enough to know how both function and to be able to understand just how powerful either side can be along with knowing strategy and intelligence gathering, espionage, and tech skills that could beneficial like in Luke Skywalker's case where he was unable to connect with the force due to being stuck with a group who could manipulate one's connection but because he had other practial skills he was able to escape. I'd also want to be able to use both sides of the force.
Jedi Creed of Assassin’s, The CIAJO(Central Intelligence Agency of the Jedi Order), Tier 1 operators of the Jedi order we can practically call them whatever we like. Personally, I’ve often imagined myself as a Jedi Sentinel as a member of the Rebel Alliance. It maybe only me but I think we should see some lore content regarding Yoda’s species, their home world, culture, what makes them unique in their connection to the Force and so on.
I probably lean toward being a Sentinel that uses a standard Lightsaber, a shoto Lightsaber, a vibroknife, and some Beskar ball bearings (for telekinetic attack and defense). A Sentinel with skills could disappear both electronically and be hidden in the Force. A balanced Shadow (if there is such a thing, as they are made out to be paranoid assassins for the most part) would be an Incredible threat to Palpatine.
It's not a hypocrisy to ensure that only the most trusted Jedi receive any knowledge of the Dark Side while preventing the Jedi's more vulnerable members from delving into it. Additionally keeping the Shadows numbers low means that if they do fall they can be defeated (and hopefully redeemed) by the other orders greater numbers. Shadows are often my favorite Jedi when playing a Star Wars RPG, tabletop or computer. Consular/Sages being second favorite. It would be neat to see a story about a Shadow, either in a novel or a movie.
I think that they could be represented as more of a paranoid kind of 007 Jedi. Someone who works in the criminal underworld of galaxy snifinf out the darkest creations of the dark-side like Sisters that resurected Darth Maul's brother or creatures that have become twited abominations of the dark-side itself.
I think a movie based on the experience of a Jedi Shadow would do very well. It seems to follow an already popular niche of movie themes and could almost even be a bond esque vibe or something like a sci-fi witcher of sorts.. I'm surprised this approach hasn't already been taken as it could easily allow disney to exercise more of that creative control they want without necessarily spoiling lore. There's so many gaps they could exploit in the lore here until they figure out how to meet that balance of new creative energy and "fan service".
It makes me wonder: would Rey be a potential "Jedi Shadow"? She has good tech skills, is experienced with the broader universe before she became a Jedi, from observation of the Sequel Movies (limiting as that may be) she has an affinity to being "alone". And her lightsaber (when she finally makes her own and stops using someone elses) is yellow.
I can only roll my eyes at the old Jedi anymore due to their insanely irrational fear of the dark side. All too often their fear of the dark side has ultimately led to many Jedi falling to it or even destroying the order almost entirely. I honestly do believe that if the Jedi actually taught the dark side more often, not to embrace it, the Empire wouldn't have existed.
One does not have to be a Jedi sentinel to learn their ways, only to accept that it is a necessity to perceive the skills of the age and the Learning of future technologies
I feel like the Orange Lightsaber needs to be explored more in canon, the idea of a rarely seen color can be attributed to a full connection with the force as a whole, yet have a disdain for lightsaber combat.
I think the shadows weren't used enough. But to be fair there was at least one massacre of apprentices due to their paranoia that occurred. I think the council should have used and tracked them better, and perhaps created special teams and individuals to better investigate strange incidents. Obi-wan and Anakin were great, but they were only two people. Investigation wasn't their greatest strength. Too many times they almost died because they lacked the training and proper experience to investigate things undercover.

May the force be with you
who is the jedi at 4:23, and what is their backstory?
Fire video 🔥
I think a movie based on the experience of a Jedi Shadow would do very well. It seems to follow an already popular niche of movie themes and could almost even be a bond esque vibe or something like a sci-fi witcher of sorts.. I'm surprised this approach hasn't already been taken as it could easily allow disney to exercise more of that creative control they want without necessarily spoiling lore. There's so many gaps they could exploit in the lore here until they figure out how to meet that balance of new creative energy and "fan service".
All in all, another great clip. I love your videos.
That would be amazing to see a stealth kind of squad story out of star wars other then the rebellion
Ones a Jedi always a Jedi
I can only roll my eyes at the old Jedi anymore due to their insanely irrational fear of the dark side. All too often their fear of the dark side has ultimately led to many Jedi falling to it or even destroying the order almost entirely. I honestly do believe that if the Jedi actually taught the dark side more often, not to embrace it, the Empire wouldn't have existed.
Alright I need a series about the Jedi Sentinels & Shadows I didn't even know they were a thing
Interesting; are any of the more well known Jedi that we have seen in the films and tv series shadows or sentinels?
Man I love star wars do yall
I can go into more detail if needed but it makes much more sense that jedi shadow are actually consular who work under the jedi sentinels
What if Anakin had been trained to be a Jedi Sentinel???
Why is this not explored in the movies....this is the perfect counter point
This would be a great show
One does not have to be a Jedi sentinel to learn their ways, only to accept that it is a necessity to perceive the skills of the age and the Learning of future technologies
I would love to see a CGI movie about the Jedi shadows
This makes me want to do a KOTOR 2 playthrough with a Jedi Sentinel
I would like to see the grey Jedi!
I feel like the Orange Lightsaber needs to be explored more in canon, the idea of a rarely seen color can be attributed to a full connection with the force as a whole, yet have a disdain for lightsaber combat.
So glad I made my character in Kotor a Jedi sentinel
I think the shadows weren't used enough. But to be fair there was at least one massacre of apprentices due to their paranoia that occurred. I think the council should have used and tracked them better, and perhaps created special teams and individuals to better investigate strange incidents. Obi-wan and Anakin were great, but they were only two people. Investigation wasn't their greatest strength. Too many times they almost died because they lacked the training and proper experience to investigate things undercover.
Have you done any vids on the masters in legends like Saba?
