- We were treated to some amazing stages for the race today. Fast, ripping trails that were super fun to ride at speed and be aggressive on. Sun Peaks has it all!

A log ride in a race run, that's wild.
There was an even bigger one! But I was too scared to do it fatigued in my race run
Start gate Marshall: ten!
Jesse: engine is on
Marshall: eight!
Jesse: thrusters engaged

i ride all those trails regularly, especially sweet one/sugar, great to see your line choices through there and to see how slow this old guy is! Great to have this awesome event in my backyard!

Holy fuck, this is unreal. From a MTB TH-cam nerd this is some of my favorite race footage I have ever seen. When you think you rip on a bike and you watch this, it's humbling af. 🙏

As someone currently doing the sun peaks enduro….like right now…..I can confidently say that my lungs are indeed exterior organs at this time😅😂

Next, sorry for my ignorance, but can someone explain how the starting countdown in racing works? Seems like every video I watch of a race, the official starts a countdown and the racer takes off somewhere around 5 or 3. Can anyone enlighten me?

That's personal! But honestly it didn't really work for stage 1, we're pretty damn tired after all this racing and it was hard to get into the zone. That's why I like Enduro, you have a few chances at it so I knew I could ride into my aggression

Because I don't want to wait! You can go anytime after 5 seconds and the timing only starts when you pass the 'gate' that is on the ground

Why do they start before the countdown ends?
The racer has a 5 second window to trip the start sensor or the clock starts automatically.
