- Does anybody know where I can get some more info like a service manual or owners manual on this? This is definately a money pit but it gets the job done. It could use some TLC and with a lot of work it could be brought up to par! Some in cab heat would be nice. I bought a heater but just need to hook up to the coolant lines and electrical! LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THE SCREAMIN JIMMY!!!!
those motors smoke, but they NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER DIE
Nice old loader, same vintage as my Terex 72-51 loader. :)
good old jimmy i had one loved it
it looks great....you will get big bucks for it at auction, for sure :)
behind the cab is more hydro fluid. the rights side tanks are for air. it is an air over hydro system. i have a service manual now but i do think the knobs are for lights that are not there! lol
the air regulator valve had a tendency to stick. just blowing off the excess air. this has onboard compressor to run the brakes and something with hydros too
the infamous special steel
You can tap one battery for 12 volt. People do this on the m35 as they are also 24volt.
I hope your buddy got a good deal on that thing. Anytime a scrap yard or junk yard sells their equipment, it's just about unusable or should be scrapped.
beast
When you have the gas all the way to the floor its only at 2800 rpm. I got a fully rebuilt Detroit 4-53 in my garage right now. I got a video on it if anybody wants to see it.
Andy ...what is that Kzzzzzzzzsh noise thanks ... SMR
definitely a decent rig for screwin around out in rutneys!
Whats the air leak under the cab when the loaders running the buzzing noise i hear.
Well one thing about it, if it ever stops leaking then you know somethings wrong lol
For 4 or 5 grand, you can buy a good used forklift.Only buy a dual wheel, pneumatic tire forklift (of at least 8,000 lb capatcity). You will love it. And put a used eagle claw setup to on it.That terex is going trash many car bodies, truck beds and driveshafts...and possibly hurt someone. You have to use a spotter ?! That yard is too small for that monster. It's a cool old piece...but not practical there.
I think it's time for a new one :D
Have you figured oat the ignition switch yet?
any plans to buy it?
How do ya check trans fluid?
Seems to do what you need it to alright. Must have way more than 5000 odd hours though, our 938g at work is in much better shape at 11000 and change, even the air works...
it would be an awsome restoration if u could do it!
aint nothing wrong with that machine man
That Terex is probably older than you are Andy lol. It runs it bleeds it is normal for a old Terex I wouldn't be too worried. It does what you guys need it to do. Run the shit out of it the old 6/71 loves being abused they run harder that way. Blower boxes are probably all loaded up from idling too long so it smokes. The tires will be expensive you can't find them used buying new ones would be too expensive.
idk how you find all these cars
Don't put much money into it. That thing has been beat then jimmy rigged so bad that it will nickel and dime you to death trying to fix everything. The brakes are probably frozen solid at this point and your going to have to remove the wheels and hubs to fix them.... good luck with that. At this point I would just run it like it is until something major breaks then junk it. You can get a well taken care of vintage loader for under 10 grand if you look around.
Rough looking machinery.
5500 HOURS? no THATS A LIE IT EITHER DOESNT WORK OR ITS BEEN RESTARTED
These are good machines and dont sell or scrap it. Terexes were built to last and it will never quit. fix the key start your good to go. Heater is minor detail its a scrapyard loader what do you expect. Looks like a 71 series Detroit, they last forever, use the ether hardly at all your good to go. Green slime never die
A A A A A ... give us "A" break...
i think if you knew how to run it a little better it would be good for snow but your just as green as the old girl on it haha no oofence
@joehara123 sorry kid, I'm a grown man, own 2 shops and been doing this for over 20 years, own all 3 of those welders and would out do stick with a mig.
I know what u think and use to think the same 20 years ago...
I guess when u learn a bit more (about different welders, gas, wires and tips) u will understand...
Pimp My Loader
How dare you borrow a machine then call it junk !
The old loader is like a horny woman it screams faster faster harder harder don't stop and eventually it squirts lol.
A Distroy it diesel needs a good clean air supply, clean fuel and lots of 40 weight engine oil.
