I don't knoq why but just listening to these old broadcasts feel like you got sent back to the 1940's or whatever era you're listening to. And think your grandparents or great-grandparents listened to this on the radio back in the day. During a war guys. I wonder what is it like to live during wartime.
It's so good to hear someone reporting the news and not biased opinionated diatribe. I'm old enough to remember the local kid who made good as a reporter and the host of Person to Person.
@Jan Brady I dont know what to tell you Jan... I dont agree with extremists on either side and both sides are guilty of delusional selfish behavior. Sorry if that upsets you but its what I believe.
Too many in today's society have had their opinions and entire mental landscapes reprogrammed to value the wealthy. Since the Fairness Doctrine was done away with by Reagan in the 80s, media has been left unprotected by corporate interests. Media ownership is now super compressed by a handful of massive communications corporations, newspapers, radio stations, etc., are owned by them and therefor their content has been funneled over time into extreme right wing ideologies. So much of this would not be heard on many AM radio stations today. And definitely not on Fox. It is sad because this situation is so bad that few is willing to acknowledge that it is the one thing left that can seriously reduce the States into something much less than it has been. And all for the sake of the super wealth, who have no real patriotism to any one country. Their money is a mobile as they are.
Thank you for putting together these amazing radio news broadcasts! If I may make a request: would you be able to post a video of all the NBC The Story Behind The Headlines hosted by Cesar Saerchinger? I have heard some of his clips and love his broadcast style and knowledge of history. It would be wonderful to have a YT clip of all his work. Thank you!
I would love to fulfill your request, but I can't seem to find all of the episodes online. I found only 13 from an Old Time Radio site. Do you, by any chance, know where I could find more?
@@oldisbest470 I can't believe it but I did! I'm waiting for this person to respond so I can verify that these disks are still available: www.otrcat.com/p/story-behind-the-headlines He has 25 episodes in total from 1938 thru 1947. I don't believe that is every single episode as I believe these ran every Sunday evening, but I haven't found a way to verify how many episodes were done. UPDATE:. I have them! I bought the instant download of the 25 episodes and downloaded them all. I'd love to send them to you so you can add them to your collection and share with other fans. I can zip them and email to you or burn them to a CD and mail it to you. Whichever is easier. I can send you my email.
@@djosbun Nice! You can find my email in the "About" section of my channel. I'll search around to see if I can find any other single episodes not part of the ones in the zip file and put together a video!
I dont understand them but i love listening to classic voices its make me feel happy and peace ♥︎

The movie about him should be mandatory viewing these days.
Wow its crazy listening to this at the start of 2021 and hearing the narrator talk about the importance of not using free speech to invoke violence.
@Jan Brady I was also thinking about far right and Trumpers along with antifa... so much misguided hate coming from all directions.

18:00 you would never see such direct acknowledgement of criticism now days.

@@oldisbest470 There actually isn't an email address listed in your channel's 'About' page. Or it's just not showing using the TH-cam app on my phone.
@@djosbun Ok, well I just added it in my bio in the about section at the bottom. Hopefully it shows up there.
Is President Truman in here? Like is there going to be a press conference or anything? Let me know here
