I think Steve Albini used one in his studio.... he raved about it 😊
I had one 20 years ago but it broke .. it helped with voc tracking .. pretty neutral as you explained
They are good and useful. Super nice mode is excellent. The 500 series is the real deal though. It has a better headroom IMO. Bass is more full.
