My lectric xp 3.0 just arrived only 3 hours ago and I find this this upload to be very helpful and informative and I thank you for the upload. I'm waiting for my battery to charge and give it a test ride.
Glad that this unboxing was shorter than many of your unboxings. It is nice that they have a torquing list. Reminding people to check things is a good idea. Many of us are in a hurry to ride. Thanks, have a great New Year.
Happy New Year! Just a note our other unboxings are live and the real benefit is for viewers to ask questions. But yes they are longer given we don't have the magic of editing.
Just got mine today. Battery removal: Turn it towards the front, push the key in, then turn it again and the pin will move inwards and unlock. Pretty genius to put the battery inside the frame!
Not so. Mine came damaged so bad it was unridable and damaged in multiple places. Packaging was one of the problem besides production issue's. To small of a box, not enough protected foam, bike came folded. Most folding bikes by other companies are shipped unfolded in larger boxes to protect them better. Not Lectric?
Thx for vid. Ordered & awaiting my xp 3.0. If you've decided to buy one, the tel ordering is slow; waited in a que up to 30 mins. Tried to email Lectric multiple times w/o any response, useless, no reply at all. TH-cam vids have been best sources to answ questions.
How strange, I ordered my bike and accessories. Was sent notifications from the company everytime something was sent/shipped. I’ve had several questions that I emailed, and they have responded promptly and professionally.
I received my bike and read all the directions. However, I could not get it to turn on. Because of your great review I found I needed to plug in the control panel to the battery. GREAT REVIEW! THANK YOU!
Mine came two weeks ago in the subzero weather. I unboxed it ok, but could not get the battery out! I wheeled it into my kitchen and let it warm up a few hours and then I got it out. Two of those stick-on pads rolled up and jammed it. This was the 14Ah size. One I pealed off the pads, I can get it in and out pretty well. The speedometer connector also was to stiff and hard from the cold to connect. Once in the house it snapped together easily. I emailed customer service about the battery before I brought it inside to warm. It’s been over a week with no response. I was not aware of that packing between the front fender and tire. It made quite the racked until it came out! I though the brake pads were rubbing. I must say that on the step through, the key location is horrible. Road splash (salt) gets in the key hole. You have to get a feel for inserting the key or else lay the bike on the side or nearly so. I have to take the battery out after each ride as my garage is unheated. I weigh in the 240-250 range and the fork bottoms out immediately. The suspension seat works ok. I have 33psi in the tires but the ride is a bit harsh. The motor handles the hills in my neighborhood. I was concerned about that. For the money, I am pleased but am already looking for another ebike and hope my wife likes this 3.0.
You can tighten up the pre-load knob on the left side of the fork. It should put a little extra tension on the spring inside to help it not immediately compress. Glad you are overall happy. The 3.0, and really all of Lectric ebikes, are great for the money.
_"I unboxed it ok, but could not get the battery out! ... Two of those stick-on pads rolled up and jammed it."_ Yeah, same thing happened to me! I had to peel off the pads, too. _"The motor handles the hills in my neighborhood. I was concerned about that."_ Yeah, that concerns me, too. Unfortunately, where I live is flat as pancake, so I can't really test that. But in a similar vein, one thing that concerns me is the top speed in throttle-only mode. My XP 3.0 only goes up to around 18 mph at most. It's supposed to be able to do 20. (I've seen some videos where they can do 21 or even 22.) It pulls fine in pedal assist mode, but in throttle-only, it seems weak. Acceleration is sluggish (especially above about 13 mph), and it tops out around 17.5 to 18 mph -- even less as the battery becomes partially discharged. (E.g., when it's at about 40 or 50 percent, the top speed in throttle-only mode is around 15 mph.) What are your experiences regarding top speed in throttle-only mode?
@@Milesco mostly the same. I’ve had it to 28 while in PAS 5 and 7th gear. 31 going down the hill I was concerned going up. I bought a second one for my wife, so that says I’m happy with it, for the price.
@@sbukosky Thanks for your speedy reply! 😊👍 I just wanted to make sure that my less-than-awe-inspiring performance in throttle-only mode wasn't just my bike. If everyone else is the same, then I'm okay with it. I just don't want to be the only one with a clunker.
BTW, One not huge, but significant diference between the Black (HiStep) and the Stepthru (white model) is the that the clearance form the pedal stem to the ground is higher on the Black (Hi Step) model. If you go off trail, that is significant to avoid getting high centered.
Oopsie1226, Thanks for asking the question. I have now corrected my initial (and mistaken) posting. So, the bottom line is that the pedals are closer to the ground on the step thru; with the black 3.0 having higher clearance... thus, in my opinion being a better choice if you do some off road trails, etc..
for a 200LB rider, I recommend 27 rear and 17 front tyre pressure, I never take the sidewall press as gospel, it is the max press at max load. I used to ride a commuter style ebike that had 65 max, I used 50 on the rear and 30 front, the back wheel jumped like a basketball running over small stones (half marble size) 40 still bit rough, 30 bout right
In the MTB world, divide rider's weight by 7 for psi on rear wheel and 7 psi less for the front. I use divide by 8 for the 20x4 25 rear and 15 front. Jeremiah Macintosh weigh around 175 LBS and he uses 20 psi on the Lectric XP original
Mine came a few hours ago! No manual but I’ve been reading online. Glad I watched this-I was trying to charge it without taking the battery out. Is there an easy way to get the battery out-the bike was wiggling all over.
In anticipation of my bike arriving, I wanted to watch this vid- I can tell you already that i have received the “holiday package “ except in pieces. Once my bike a and trailer arrives, it looks like I will need to install the upgraded headlight and seat. Bah Humbug 😢 other than that, Im stoked!

Hi Folks, I wish you/all e bike manufacturers could offer a spec. like "Maximum Rideable Incline." It's hard to tell how steep of a hill you can go up before you have to walk up. Thank you for listening and your reply.
If you watch our full reviews we put the hill specs on the screen. So hopefully that can help a little bit. Rideable incline would be an interesting spec. There are a bunch of variables that effect that, so might be hard to dial that in to a standard.

Depending on how much past, you could cause the motor to have some overheating problems on hills and sustained loads. Also at a certain point you could cause frame issues.
I'm thinking of buying this bike very soon. If I take it to a bike shop to make sure things are all right with it is there anything specific I have to ask the bike shop in terms of service to provide?
No. Any local bike shop will check all the standard items (wheels, brakes, etc....), which are all standard bike items. Nothing special is needed to be checked by them.
