    Hey, friends! Today's interview is with my friend Jake Ward who is a 31-year-old trans guy (FTM female-to-male) from Chicago. He began his transition at 16---just a kid. He sits down with me to share his wonderful story about gender dysphoria, his top and bottom surgery, hysterectomy, and lots more. Including all the trials and tribulations through his life so far. Please leave some love for Jake in the comments! He is a great guy. Love, Buck

      Here representing other Chicago LGB non gender activists..... if I'm not mistaken, Jake is talking about the COH lgbt space. They're SUPER WOKE and i too feel ostracized by the Chicago lgbt community. I haven't been to a pride event or parade in years because everything panders to the genderqueer crowds now. And us Bisexuals are being mislabeled as pan and nonbinary by default 😮‍💨

At first I struggled but listening to you guys, Blair WHite, Marcus etc has helped me "get it". @@CommanderRedEXESome people can handle themselves in a china store, others can’t. Buck, Blair, Marcus, and Jake are able to. These are the people who set the standard. There are MANY of us just like Buck, Blaire, and Marcus. Many of us are very sensible and normal people. It's just such a a big step to stand up and be heard, knowing the type of insane backlash you may be from the activists. Our community has been hijacked. So much so that us sensible trans people have all but abandoned it.

      I am a 72 y/o 2nd wave feminist: I have always supported transsexuals and I continue to support transsexuals. I also staunchly support gay & lesbian civil liberties. Like you, I was very confused over the growing insanity that is happening in what is being called the ‘transgender community’. But, as my confusion cleared, I became HORRIFIED at how this cult ideology has captured not just social media, but our schools, our courts, and our medical professions. I do not support ‘queer theory’, I do not support AGPs incursion into women’s spaces & their appropriating the definition of ‘womanhood’, & I emphatically do not support ‘transing’ children & adolescents who may merely be sexually confused, autistic or sexually traumatized young men & women. It is very clear to me that much of what we are seeing today has little to do with genuine transsexualism.

      I completely agree! Sadly, it seems like the trans community has been taken over by AGPs, which is a sexual fetish and not a medical condition at all. But secondly, on a totally separate note, as a fellow Christian-(not by the churches or the “religion” but by walking with Christ)- I do wonder how you reconcile God’s design for this world with how you choose to walk through it…? I know that is such a touchy question, and I hope you understand that I mean absolutely no disrespect at all! I’m just genuinely curious. If this is something you don’t want to talk about, of course I completely respect that and apologize if I have made you uncomfortable by asking; but on the off chance that you do feel comfortable opening up, I would love to hear your personal perspective… ❤

      This. Like with gender activists, it's a very vocal minority of Christians (we remember you, Westboro...) giving all Christians a bad name. I still remember when an entire church of Christians blocked a funeral of a gay teen to keep it safe from the crazies giving their religion a bad name.
      I've also noticed more and more Christians learning more about Islam and vice versa, causing somewhat reduced tensions but also an alliance against the madness to protect the children.

    I transitioned at age 19. I thought my parents hated me because they didn't want me to, and I didn't care to foster a relationship with them. Come a few years later, they've cared for me after my top surgery, I've moved away and found an amazing man who I plan to spend my whole life with, and I think it just took space and visible success to them that this one aspect of myself doesn't define me, and that I can have a good life regardless. We have an amazing relationship now.

    • @CommanderRedEXE

      Glad you were able to repair that relationship. I think the discourse being pushed by the gender activists giving everyone a bad name had caused many, myself as well at times, to want to just give up on LGB/T people entirely due to bow absurd some of this stuff has become.
      Doesn't help the medical industry is starting to push misinformation around how safe hormones and puberty blockers actually are in the long term, along with all the other misinformation in general around Transgender/Transsexuals.
      This channel and a few others have helps me remember why I fight for my LGB/T friends who don't buy into this nonsense either and help them spread more accurate information.

Almost all of the younger folks that think they should transition should definitely not be going down this path. I was given the go ahead for medical transition after multiple years of therapy and it was determined that I was definitely experiencing severe dysphoria. Starting at a younger age is not what made my transition successful. My transition was successful because I’m actually trans and needed to alleviate my dysphoria.

    This reminds me so much of my cousin. She's a trans woman in her 30s. She didn't medically transition until her 20s, but she did socially transition in her teens and went through a lot of therapy and medical evaluation prior. Just like this guy, she said that it was challenging for sure, but she feels it was important both for herself and her family to make sure that this was her and what she truly wanted. And also like this guy, she feels that too many kids (and a lot of adults) these days are being automatically "validated" and rushed to transition, and it's ultimately to their own detriment.

That's how as a man loving women I've came to this conversation to understand. If I was as secure in my body and zxuality as you and Buck, I'd likey not been a drug addict or live a life of fear of being rejected from society. Thank you again! 41/F and teacher here. I'm only half way through the video but two things that have stood out to me so far.
    1. I don't understand why so many people and medical professionals think gender affirming care is a good practice. When I got bariatric surgery I had to go through a 6 month approval process that includes getting approval from a psychologist. Why is getting bariatric surgery harder than gender affirming care? And what I mean is it shouldn't be that easy. Good medical care should be more thorough.
    2. I am asexual and left that community because I was too "normal" I guess I just didn't fit in as a "cis" "heteromantic" woman. There are so many people in that community that define asexuality as all this and that. It parallels very similarly what you guys are describing. And it's so toxic, I had to leave. By its simplest definition, I'm asexual but I don't call myself that to anyone because online the definition is so confusing and crazy sounding, I don't want to be associated with that. 😔 I'm not trying to say it's the same but it reminds me of my experience trying to find a community. It shouldn't be like that.

    • @terminaldeity
      @terminaldeity 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm also asexual (38/m). I found the online asexual community to be a lot of just socially awkward teenagers seeking validation and approval. They're all in a hurry to define themselves and treat asexuality like it's a personality trait that will make them accepted. It became clear to me that the "community" was just insecure people seeking external validation. I worry that teenagers and young adults aren't exploring their true feelings, but trying to find a box to put themselves in.

    • @Lolidella82
      @Lolidella82 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@terminaldeity I would agree with that but there are a surprising amount of older "asexuals" who don't know who they are and they want a label to feel special. Either way, I know I'm ace but I don't need the online community. It would be nice to have some normal ace friends tho.

    As an older straight person, I have been trying to understand this for a while now. I think your program has helped many of us to have an idea of what is happening. Jake you are a wonderful person to come onto a show and be candid about your experiences along the way. I think you pass with flying colors. I am happy for you that you are having a happy life. I have heard so many interviews with people who are sorry and sad and they were not told the truth about what could happen. you are the first to speak about the micro-surgery that I have heard. I think just that alone will help so many people. I guess I was considered a tom boy but I had to help my dad a lot, so I wore boys clothing a lot. I longed to wear pretty dresses and have pretty shoes as a child. Many of the chores I helped my dad with it was better to wear jeans and work boots. So, some of us seem to get the wrong label but I don't regret helping my father at all. Most of all I liked to go fishing with him. You seem like a wonderful young man and I am glad Buck had you on his show.

    10:18 as someone whos been through the process in the midwest (in one of the most 'gatekeepy' states according to wokies) i fo believe our systems for this DO need improvement, but i feel like the other statws made the process so relaxed that it is just dangerous. We need it to he more of a serious process, but we also need to be able to open and discuss it. In my area, it took me 3 seperate doctors, the first two takked in circles and constantly wanted to ignore the reason i was even there (and after years of each of them i just moved on becauee clearly we were getting no where. These therapist were also VERY christian) the third one took me seriously and actually helped me, i did end up with a diagnosis after a long time and started transitioning (detransitioned now) but i take that as a fault of my own. The system here was pretry decent at acrually diagnosing and identifying the true reasin for these feelings, but over time i became more comfortable wirh my body. Now, im definitely not like a "guys guy" or anything, i definitely still feel like i think more feminine- qnd ive been told thats the vibes i give off ALL the time by new-ish people to my life- but i dont think i need to medically transition to feel more comfortable anymore.
    Part of this comes from years of drugs and addiction changing how i thought about life, and part of it is realizing that changing my physical body isnt going to magically fix anything in my life, it may make me feel better, but it isnt a necessity.
    Just a reminder: not everyone diagnosed wirh gender dysphoria (trans) is going to even benefit from transitioning. Only a % of the small % of trans people that exist will ACTUALLY get benefits and improvements from transitioning. Just because you have gender dysphoria does NOT mean transitioning is whats right for you, and for a lot of people it will make their gender dysphoria (and other mental healrh issues) worse.

    I am so happy I found your videos. As I explained before, my late friend was male to female transition. I learnt a great deal from her on the the subject and you and your guests have helped me understand so much more. Rebecca was a great, very brave person who I was proud to call friend. ❤
    Listening to you and your guests has made me wonder how Rebecca came through with little or no support. She had no supportive family, no support system. I think I was the first person to offer support. I'm a heterosexual female, so I was in uncharted territory.

    I considered being born in the wrong body around teenage yrs, due to many many factors of society...

    I love love you buck and all the work you do. Being a tomboy my whole life it scares me to death knowing that other Tom boys are being indoctrinated into becoming trans when really they’re just a Tom boy that needs to grow up to love themselves ! And even if they do decide to grow up and become trans that’s fine but at least grow up first. I truly believe if I were a teenager nowadays, trans would be forced down my throat ! I’m glad I grew up a Tom boy and I’m glad that I figured myself out for myself ! They need to let these kids do the same. It’s okay to be trans but you have to actually be trans to be trans, being a tomboy doesn’t mean you’re trans so thank you for always highlighting that !
