Really enjoying your content man. Been volunteer firefighting for 3 years and have gotten restless with my day job. Trusted God through prayer and applied & got hired with my local 911 dispatch center. 2 weeks after turning in my resignation to my day job, the company closed its doors permanently leaving my coworkers without jobs and myself about to start a dream job. Can't wait to start

Dude what an awesome story! So cool that you trusted God through it! Crazy how he knows exactly what we need! Haha. Congrats and I wish the best for you!

Just came across your channel right after hearing from God that he wanted me to go into firefighting. I am 16 and just found out I had two bulging disks in my low back and am going through physical therapy. I also have some autoimmune issues so I have been wondering how God would get me into the fire service with health issues. Hearing you have a similar story and saying that you just trusted God was the encouragement I needed. Thanks man!

Thank you for this! Super cool to hear people’s journey’s. So exciting that you hear God! Yeah, trust Him. I’ve seen Him come through with so much. The things we go through are so trivial when we think about the Kingdom, but he still wants us to bring all this to him because he cares so much about us. Appreciate hearing from you!

Awesome experience! I myself am in a similar situation of having just quit my job after several years to pursue a career in the fire service. The reminder to just pray and trust in the Lord is a great reminder! Enjoying your videos! Keep em comin!

Definitely resonated, and would love to hear more. I've been grinding away for a decade to get into the local fire service with no luck, certainly progressing to different stages but the last three attempts I have basically gone backwards. A weird spot to be in, feeling called to a career but diminishing levels of success. Only persisting because the dream / drive to keep going hasn't faded away, despite the constant prayer that the calling would go away should it not be where I am supposed to end up. Wishing you all the best with your career mate.

Thanks for commenting and telling a bit of your story. 10 years is a long time! I would be interested to know why they haven’t hired you yet since you’ve been so consistent. I wonder f you’ve tried for other departments? It could be a stepping stone for you but still part of the journey. However if you feel called to it, no reason in stopping. You never know how God is going to use the moments of what we might see as “failure” to use for his glory and your good. Holding the best for you though and for you to get on with a good department.

@@justkjokay3878 Happy to share mate. Yeah I would like to know too! I have passed interviews and fitness tests in the past, but now don't get selected in psychometric exams (which are first up in the process). We only have the one professional service in a city here in australia, so there are limited options unless you are willing to move interstate - which we are not wanting to do for family reasons.
you're very right, despite the frustration, the feeling remains that it is the right path. I am encouraged by your story, so thank you for sharing.

I appreciate you sharing. Well, I’m not in your shoes, but I would say if you feel it’s the right path, keep trying. Ask people who have passed the psych in the past to see what they’re looking for if you’re able to. But again, hope the best for you in your journey 💪💪

Thank you, definitely felt this was for me again. I read the chapter of John by the way as well, and again very fitting for my situation coming out of a divorce. I've never felt closer to having validation from my life than this before. I've spent 7 years at my current job as well before pursuing the fire service.

Hey man, I’m 18 years old and I wanna become a firefighter. I was wondering if I can go be apply and get trained with the station or if I should try to get certifications before I go. I’m really confused in the whole process. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

That’s a great question. I think I’ll do a video on this because I’ve gotten a few of these. In short: it depends. If the department you’re wanting to go to has its on academy and it’s reputable, I would hold out. A good academy is worth learning from all the way from scratch in order not to pick up bad habits. However, if the department you want to go to is a bit smaller and doesn’t have that, it may be worth it to go through everything on your own. After you get everything, there are different “high speed” classes you can sign up for as well and most of them will require you to have basic firefighter and maybe a few others. There are usually really good firefighters that go there and you’ll be able to learn a lot from them! Hopefully this helps and welcome to the family bro!

Might be best to join a Volunteer Fire Department for a while to feel it out and see if you’re still interested. That’ll get you acquainted with local firefighters personally and if you do well they could potentially help you with references. In my experience you were only able to sign up for firefighting classes if you were already in the fire service at the state fire school so being a Volunteer would get you in so you can start getting training and building your resume.

I’m 20 so I’m in similar shoes that you are, I applied to a local volunteer department with its own mini 10 week academy where I’ve been there for the last 1.5 years, during that time I trained and got my EMT certification and applied to places and recently just got hired, you’ll make it don’t quit and just continue expanding your knowledge, go out and volunteer, get your EMT, and these skills under your belt and read
