Out of universe, the idea of someone out to kidnap a member of the Batfam is like watching a drunk approach an electrified fence.

the reason you don't want jason coming to save you isn't that he'll kill the kidnappers but rather he'll give them tips on how to do a better job kidnapping you next time, like telling them to wear a mask or to keep their mask on

i've noted he has said on more then one time that a threat agianst one is the whole family so on and so forth.. i really think he considers all the bat family as his real family not just helpers or allys but his real family. maybe its childish per say but at the same time sweet.

I’m surprised this didn’t hit closer to home for Jason considering his… history with kidnapping, but maybe he’s just hiding it through humor or it’s covered in the next issue or something
It’s probably why he said to take them out regardless of his secret identity. He will do whatever it takes to escape
I think he’s slightly used to being kidnapped or kidnapping attempts from normal people because he grew up in a very rough part of town so he’s likely had people try to snatch him up on the regular and just learned to beat them up and with his combat skills he can easily defend himself and beat the average kidnapper, the Joker terrifies him because that guy is able to keep up with Batman in fights on the regular.

Honestly It'd be weird if the Wayne kids didn't know how to defend themselves. It'd be 1000% believable that Bruce would've had his kids taught on self defense. Especially with the constant kidnapping attempts and Bruce's childhood trauma. I can easily see a guy with his background and money paying for the best protection for his kids.

Plus, I freakin love every WFA chapter with Neffex's "Take Me Back" as the outro song, especially when it focuses on the character's struggle or personal problems such as chapters 44 & 45.

I have been waiting for this episode since I discovered your comic dubs, it's my absolute favorite, all the Bat Boys coming together to help their new brother deal with what could be potentially traumatic thing for him to go through. And just their interactions over all. I just love them all together so much!
Could duke not fight back, but not in a crime fighter way, just be more scrappy get hit a few more times than normal, make yourself look like an amateur and maybe rough the guys up a bit more
