What is a women card? Why would they waste time on a 27 minute long sitcom to include trips to a dry cleaner? Nobody ever went to a church in any episode. No one is bowling.
Those Aunt Jermima pancakes really look good and yummy . At 17:56 a Volkswgen is highlighted for comic effect , very unusual at a time when big american made battleships were the only thing seen ! For years a straight woman for Lucille Ball on O & H MJ Croft was usually a comic . Her working at the gas station and collection of oil dipsticks at the end is something that Lucy would do !
In real life ,Harriet smoked,but she lived well into her 80s-90s ,… as did Dave ! … Ozzie, who never smoked or drank,died early in life into his mid to late 50s ,. And Rick,who died in the plane crash ,…too early in life !……Sad 😢 ….
A house provider I had in Muskogee named Kathy dorosette told me that back then when cars ran on leaded gas they were just cars, an' ever since cars have been running on unleaded gas the cars have been disposable cars or what people would call throw away cars
I had an aunt who told us that she had been turned into Harriet Nelson by a pishogue. She started wearing her hair like Harriet and talking and dressing like her. When she tried to take over the corner gas station after seeing this episode, we finally had to commit her to the asylum where she remains to this day.
Fun 1959 episode albeit not politically-correct in 2022! I noticed that the Bennett gas pump showed the "Cents Per Gallon" to be 0.37. Adjusted for inflation that would be $3.57-quite high. Btw, Bennett is still in business! Sandwiches, Cokes, and cards for the Men's Club lunch from the local deli. Good times!
