If you ask me, the Heavy Devastator is a bigger threat than the Rocket Devastator. My reason is because while Rockets may one-hit you, they're dodgable. Kind of. Heavy Devestators have 100% accuracy with a mini gun!
With enough firepower, you can stand up to the bugs... You cannot stand up against the bots. Be swift, be silent, drop strategems on the objectives before they know you're there. If not, you're never leaving.
NGL bots on suicide > bugs on suicide. Drop smart and bring the right fuckin tools. Explosive resist medium armor (heavy works if you didn't get it in rotation), have someone bring an autocannon it dismantles the bitches (most devastators in 1 to the head, if you panic you can wipe them in three it shoots fast). you don't have enough slots with -1 stratagems to bring your shield gen pack, so live without. Someone needs EATs or better yet the new energy rocket for specifically tanks/ drops if you're feeling lucky. Orbital laser is basically a must (able to take out a large number of bots, can kill three tanks in one use GD that thing saves lives), last slot is flex so bring something fun, but it needs to be either something eagle or quick recharge, airstrike and 110 are nice choices, for more tank killing and widespread devastator slaughter. Godspeed Helldivers. Bonus, stun grenades rock, stop tanks for rocket killing or stun a hulk for easy autocannon takedowns.
i'd recommend using scout armor to sneak around and be a rat with the autocanon, bring a 500kg bomb/orbital gas strike (or both) with a turret that is effective against bot/the shield generator (or both two depending on what you use) you pretty much avoid all patrol, sneaking around, strike the enemy outpost as fast as you can then leave as fast as you can, and repeat same for side objective and main one if it's possible it's easier to do when not solo, as some main objective spawn a lot of bot on higher difficulty next to you so high chance of being detected, so other teammate are often needed, but if you let them do the main thing and do all the side stuff and outpost on your own it's really fun

I completely agree, I've seen the heavy dudes' lasers firing sideways out of their barrel to hit you occasionally.
