@@SpookyStorkRunningWild Haha yeah I don't know how mainstream this is... This is a drum company channel, of course there are drummers who like styles of music that shows off the drums
Wow finally a guy who can play the heavy stuff and be MUSICAL. Most of the drummers I listen to in this genre just seem to have pegged the drum on to the tempo then just played their asses off. Really original bass drum work - very funky, and the muscularity of the playing is impressive - he really hits through the snare - beautiful sound.
Intervals too =( but whatever, we'll always have his solo stuff to look forward to too. never been a fan of volumes or textures or whichever band it is he's in now. lol
He's parted ways with monuments as well. As far as i remember he is working on a project with intervals' second guitarist. Apologies as i don't remember his name.
He didn't leave Intervals. Aaron started intervals as a solo project and after AVW (best album ever made btw) he sadly felt that he wanted to get back to making exactly the kind of music he wanted to. I'm sure he's super proud and satisfied with AVW but I think he wanted the creative freedom of deciding just how he wanted things and he seemed super extatic all throughout making The shape of colour getting back to doing his own thing. As I understood it there they had some different ideas on how they wanted intervals to proceed after their first album as a "band"
I think that all along, subconsciously I've really liked this band because of the drumming, and not the music and vocals! lol I basically have the songs on repeat 24/7 but focusing on the drums alone is just incredible!
@@SpookyStorkRunningWild oh for sure! As a guitar player this just blows me away that these guys can play like this so awesome. Wish I could go back and play drums instead haha
Awesome drumming and song! I miss him in Skyharbor. It seems like he's overplaying the cymbals, I wonder if it's because it's a Meinl show, they want their cymbals pronounced 😀
@@RossLambert801 Ohget off, John Bonham is a classic, but he has nothing on the modern day drummer. Anup is most definitely a better player. Seriously, why do we insist that classic = good.
@@RossLambert801 He literally has a larger repitoire of skills, is actually older than what Bonham was when he died, and plays consistently in genres of music that require much more skilled playing. Your opinion is invalid lmao

Terribly underrated. This guys cymbal work is best in the game.
Love how he hits like a truck without sacrificing groove or technique
So happy to see this style of drumming in the mainstream again. Powerful, articulate, and emotional. Love it!
You said it. :)
mainstream? since when has progressive music been mainstream?

It´s always a pleasure to watch this man play the drums :)
Fairplay to him mixing and mastering that himself, bass drum sounds madting
He was a big hit at the drum festival.
His right foot is insane..
Listen to Larnell lewis for his right foot this is like a baby's foot

I just love the sound of this kit!
He has such a distinct sound! Maybe he did his own sound for this gig?
Daniel Calderon yep, the sound here was mixed by himself
WhereTheWavesAreBorn this dude got some
mad skills, thats the highlight:)

Which kit is he using? It looks like Starclassic but I would like to know which woods are being used as well.. The kick sounds so good!
I was there, and i think it was a starclassic bubinga :)
Ferda Grossmann I think so too because he generally uses bubinga.
John Sambyal it's triggered.
Are you sure? Now that I compare it to the Toontrack Progressive EZX it does sound similar but I'm not sure. I wish it isn't.
John Sambyal I just assume based on his videos on his channel... cause they sound exacly the same all of it. no matter what kit he uses.
Idian version of Tomas Haake
yeaaaaaaah I feel the groove :)
ghost notesssssss!!!
this is sickkk! damn! so fckn great, so talented. wow.
Anup has more groove than all skyharbor combine, what a beast

Old Skyharbor was so incredible
God, that snare sounds so fucking good.

His ghost notes really pop out of the mix. Awesome
Anyone know what the hell's going on at 5:19?
Beyond the Exosphere its called a Dirk blast
patdrums9 It's a variation of flam triplets putting the accented hand of the flam on a cymbal and everything else on the snare.
dirk blast
Everyone talking about the snare, nobody mentioning the shear insanity of this mans right foot!
Did he play any intervals songs at the festival?
