It's wild to me that in the year of our lord 2024, the best way to see how the M3 Carbine worked is through the wacky hotdog shooter game. Congratulations Anton

Anton… you missed the opportunity to also change the irons on the Glock to be on the right side of the slide like the original meme… it would’ve been even better
8:20 The other reason 9hz cameras exist is because most thermals are made in the US and ITAR. Anything higher than 9hz and/or 800x640 and you can't export them.
the T12 actually looks like a surprisingly solid target acquisition tool, since it's a display rather than a scope, you can just put it off on a canted rail and have thermals on demand while aiming down whatever real optic you have
I've hunted with a couple different thermals before, and im amazed at how accurate these new scopes are with the resolution and frame rate. Even the pixilation from zooming in is astounding. You really are the most dedicated, creative dev I know of.
Now that would be a cursed meme optic like the YOLO optic. Just a T12 running DOOM. Imagine getting that in a TnH run. Bonus points if it was actually playable, maybe with the remote control from the drone Anton added a while back?
One idea for the handheld thermal! Part of H3VR’s identity is getting something new and having no idea how to use it. For the handheld thermal, I noticed the 4 way control panel on the front. I think you should add functionality to all those buttons using the joystick/touchpad where there is no floating context menu that pops up and instead the user just has to experiment with all the buttons.
Sounds like you should spend some weeks or months of time develloping this terrible idea in a mod you'd give to us all freely, so that you get your Thingamajigs some diegetic menus and we get Anton to keep doing what he's actually interested in, ie : develloping this game. Best of both worlds. Good luck with your mod ;)
Wow, the T12 looks like aaaaaass! I love it! Would be real funny to be added to the shop fool for a TnH character based off of a larping /k/ operator, strapped onto an SKS with a rail system drilled on.
The 9hz limit is usually a way to still be able to export Thermal Cams/sensor from the US, because of export restrictions, anything over 9hz is much more regulated. Doesn't really make sense since uncooled Chinese sensors have gotten really good, but that's the rules
20:03 "...based on photo-cathode parameters, to approximate spectral response" Anton that line straight up sounded like scifi technobabble, and i mean that in the best way possible 👌
the tiny thermal optic is actually quite useful is Escape from Tarkov because you can put it on a canted sight and in doing so, use it as a cheap way to get access to detecting enemies in the same manner that you can with a thermal optic, with the main optic being used to line up a shot.
You never leave the Locker. Even Operation Metro just leads back to the Locker. Go to Silk Road, and somehow you end up back at the Locker. No matter how far you run, you ALWAYS return to the Locker. always a bright day when Anton updates! thank you so much to you and your talented Team! i also figured out how to mod, and i am LOVING IT, playing rotweiners with a 2 Warhammer 40k Bolters and a Kopesh is so addicting xDDD (Edit: also please make historically accurate nightvision, being a oil Lamp hanging off the front end of a revolver (a lantern attachment for guns with the hanging lamp would actually be sweet for Halloween o/))
I only watched this after I played the update. I saw "G17 switch" on the patch notes and thought the actual proper switch. it was very funny learning the truth.
As an alternative to the night vision goggle cooldown to avoid re-snapping to the head, would it be possible to compare the motion vectors of the head and goggles to only attach when the goggles are being moved towards the head?
I almost have enough money to get the pc hopefully by the end of this week I’ll have enough money to get it and have enough time to set up computer and steam stuff
I have been waiting for this devlog all day lol; I finally found the chance to play H3 again last night and had SO MUCH FUN on Dark Duney Range with a Mk12 Mod1 and Honey Badger both thermal'ed up with the Outdoor Sosig Spawner Panel, just sentry'ed up on the tower picking off the Sosigs as they tried to creep up on me from all sides in the darkness. I did realize that the Laser Attachments 1-5 had a weird thing going on where the IR settings were visible, and one of the Vis settings was actually IR, but the PEQ and Perst3 both seemed to work fine (didn't try the LAM). Excited as always to see the crazy amount of work and love going into this game, and I'm patiently waiting for the first demo of Contract Griller, whenever that may be!
Backpack battery would be awesome lol, maybe it could be a weapon in a pinch to where if you threw it, it would billow out the toxic barrel clouds from institution or maybe jusy a generic puddle of acid

I would love a way to set scenes to be at different times! (Night, day, sunset/sunrise) It could add a need for night vision in the contract griller which would be VERY fun!

Minor innaccuracy, I noticed this when I saw it, but the irons foe that pistol where mounted on the _side_ which is even more cursed.
Specifically on the same side as the ejection port
It's to aim while gangsta leanin'

i wish there were a sausage power up or some other thing to give my own eyes night/thermal vision, as opposed to having to look through a scope lens
There's the head-mounted goggles, but that's I guess still sort of similar to looking through a scope.

It might also be amazing for hiding behind a corner and just peeking the gun around.

Im sorry but no. It already uses the scope menu systems as its internally a scope. I'm not implementing ideosynchratic computer interfaces per-object.
