Jim, you are one of the best Dobro players i've had the pleasure of listening to. Thanks for the great rendition of "The End Of The World." Keep up the great music. GJP
BB Oswald was the lead player for Roy Acuff who recorded this song early in his career. (You can hear it here on TH-cam). Roy sang it at a much faster pace, but Oswald made it much more beautiful at a slower speed. Jim, you do a wonderful job on it. Your slide work is really impressive.
Man, that was so beautifully done.... From the heart I could tell..... You made me want to dig out my old dobro and start pickin again...... Thanks.....
Mr. Jim, In regards to your 'End Of the World'.. I would say 'You Do Mr. Os" Proud. Great Sound On Your Hound Dog. Great. Regards, HD28V Martin- North Georgia..
My Dad was good friends with Os and played Os's dobro in front of me when I was 9 years old. It sounded just like your model 27. I sold my 27 about a year ago, but still have my Reed. Nice job, keep slidin!
I've played Os's Dobro "Herman" that now belongs to Mike Webb a few times. Mike and I would swap back and forth, and I could hardly tell the difference.
This is as close to Oz as it gets to my opinion. This is beautiful music to my ear. This dobro sounds excellent. Can anyone tell what kind it is and how old it is. Very tasteful playing the way a dobro should be played. Thanks for posting.
@@jim7233HI Jim, Just found this, said 12y back, then saw your reply to Randy at 2 mo. ago, me, hmm glad he's still around. Want to say, l sure injoyed your playing. Excellent, saw you had her capoed up to A there. Been playing Dobro, lot of years, old Arthur nearly got me, but can still do a bit. Hope you are still going strong. Such a thoughtful reply to Randy, shows also what a great person you are, as well as a great Dobro player too! Hey, never met a Dobro player that l didn't like ! Now if Utube will let this get out, have me blocked for some reason, guess l failed ssomewhere in their "Community Guidelines"? Stay well friend !God Bless !🌈
@@jmartin9785 Thanks for the nice comments. I know what you mean about "Arthur" I have it in both thumbs. Can't do the fast stuff anymore for any length of time. maybe one of these days, I'll post some more songs. Jim
Excellent Jim! That's definitely one of the best versions I've heard besides the original. I'm a beginner... any tips for those slant bars? It seems like most people I've watched place their index finger across the bar to control it, however 2 of my favorite pros don't do it that way. Thanks so much for sharin' & subscribing to my channel!
Listened again and loved it!
I could listen to your beautiful music all day.God Bless you as you have me.
Brings back great memories. Thanks

The greatest music I ever heard. Absolutely beautiful~~! RIP.. You are so missed my friend love you..and your music/ talent ;>)))
One of my favorites, although I first heard it sung many times by Hank Snow, who put a 2 chord in the chorus, long before I ever heard Os play it.
That's awesome. I'm currently learning to play Dobro. This is inspiring.
Really very nice performed..
That's capoed on the 2nd fret, with "G" tuning, to give it the "A" sound that Oswald used.
just great!
There isn't anything better than the dobro. Sounds great.
