Now there should be a page called developer options in your settings. Go to it and find the transition animation scales, and turn them down to your liking. This worked on my S4, it's worth a shot if you haven't already tried it Marques. Thumbs up this comment everybody so he sees it!
Holy shit, has it really been 8 years!? The One Plus One is still one of my most favorite phones that I owned. It did so much out of the box that other phones for double the price didn’t yet offer.
There is a division because REGULAR PEOPLE DO NOT CARE. I'm a gadget guy and I respect the person reading this is too, but regular people don't care. Just... Accept that they don't. Oh they also are like "cynano-WHAT now?"
Tech is becoming more of a household thing everyday. Its up to us, the "techies", to give easily digestible info to the masses. Tell your friends. Your siblings. The important thing is for you to give them a solid foundation in this. At the very worst they'll be more informed, at best you'll turn them into one of us!
***** I understand where you're going, but that has nothing to do with it. When the say, S3 was breaking sales records, and Motorola was spending ungodly money on "Droid does" ads, Apple was winning. If you look at the way apple markets, you see they create a different relationship with their users. It's a strange one to be certain. Look into the book "Tribes, we need you to lead us" I think it's called. Very interesting.
I want this phone so bad. The pure user experience really intrigues me. No bloatware or contracts or high price. Just a phone with Kit Kat, the rest is yours to change.

i think your way over exaggerating the home button delay yes its not as fast as other phones its a little bit of a delay but its not a whole ten dang second its a tiny fraction of a second longer. for the price you can live with its also fixable in software im sure
I think the problem is more because it's just slightly too long that you notice it, like the slight lag between audio and video you can sometimes find on TV... Not a major deal, but damn will it get annoying!
***** I love this phone, amazing for the price, kinks included. Hopefully they do fix that delay, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker if they didn't either

Am I the only one who noticted the *#NoSleepTeam* Bracelet from ***** in the video? :P Amazing review Marques, it's insane how much stuff you cover in a video that's under 15 minutes. Keep it up!
Considering marques always talks about batteries and their lifespan on his other phones. If you're familiar with any sort of electric charge then you would know that 3100 mAh would last you a typical work day (depending on how heavy of a phone user you are it could even last as long as 12 hours), 8-10 hours and still have 10-20% left.
Chiba Hiro True, but there are still variations within each level (ie how well the cellphone actually uses that 3100mAh). Motorola did a great job with the droid line up in terms of getting thin batteries with insane battery performance (I think MK put it as his manufacture of choice for a battery for his dream cellphone a while back).
I bet you the Cyanogenmod developers for this phone have already watched this video and all the problems will be fixed by Cyanogemod and One Plus by their end of their work day tomorrow.
Joey Luu CM11 etc, is made for so many different devices and the ROM is tweeked for so many devices, this is one device (their second device to natively run CM) its 1 device to focus more in depth on, with all the different CM versions out there, fixing all those issues would be impossible, but since this is 1 device to focus on, updates/bug fixes should be really easy for them to deal with :) I trust CM will focus greatly on this OS as it is kinda also their flagship device
Nicholas Henseleit It is made for many different devices but every mayor device have it's own dedicated people working on phone specific bugs, and they aren't fixed for a very very long time.. CM is great, but it never was that stabile and I doubt it will be any time soon
Joey Luu because they are a small team of developers in comparison to an OEM. These are baby steps for an extremely new company which is why you won't find this phone in the shops or sold on Amazon just yet.
This or the LG G3. Where I Iive they are basically the same price, really cant decide. Better with the LG G3 -1440p -Smaller footprint -Lighter (13 grams) -Better Camera Better with the OnePlus One -Better Front Facing Camera -Way better feel in hand -Better OS (my opinion) -32GB more Storage -Better battery Life -Better Speaker placement/quality If I have left any points out please let me know :)
Makers need to go back too These Popular Features 1. Removeable Backs 2. Swappable Batteries 3. Curved Backs for better Hend Grip and Feel 4. Bottom From Facing Speaker (MotoX 2014, HTC Boom Sound Style!) 5. Custom LED Looks I really like the LED Ring that Surrounds the Camera 6. Bigger Sensor with Lower MP Count aka sub 45mp (Lumia 1020 like!) While more Pixels get more details this is only true if each pixel gets enough light! 7. Xeon Flash (keep LED they can be used in Tandem or just for Flashlight!) Features that was rarely if never done but should be 1. IR Flash for more Details 2. Magnetic Charging (Think Moto Mod Style but!) instead of QI Charging 3. Moto Mods by far the best Modular System 4. Plastic Screen Phones especially for Kids and Elderly aimed devices (They could just use a Plastic Film Screen Protector to stop Permanente Scratches!) 5. Metal Uni-Body instead of Fixed Glass Backs (especially if they won't bring back easy to remove backs which can be made of Plastic, Glass or Metal etc and still be IP Rated!)
In my country is 2500$ ! Everything in my country is so expensiv like : Motorola Moto G 8GB is 300$ + there are a lot less phones ! P.S: Sorry for my bad spelling, English is not my original language.
Just dusted mine off and installed lineageos. Really good phone :). I really hope 1+ would release a budget option nowadays... Twice the original price is hard to swallow.

Repeatedly tap the part that says build number, until developer mode is enabled.
Now there should be a page called developer options in your settings.
Go to it and find the transition animation scales, and turn them down to your liking.
This worked on my S4, it's worth a shot if you haven't already tried it Marques.
Thumbs up this comment everybody so he sees it!
yes, I can confirm it does speed up the transition , if you put it 0, it will be instant, since there is no animation anymore..
Damn Marques your pretty well rounded to be uploading videos this late. #teamnosleep
I like it but I'm not sure it's going to draw me away from my Note 3 or 4.
James Meagher me too :/ I actually like my s4 running vanilla android. But also because it doesn't have an IR blaster :/
Muhammad Shahzad I have a Moto X but its not as productive like the Note 3 is to me.
James Meagher I can imagine. 3 gigs of ram come in pretty handy to do work haha
Muhammad Shahzad Damn, I got robbed! I only had 2GB to use.
Watching it on the OnePlus 6. It's really hilarious to remember that 5.5 inches screens were considered very big at that time. 😅
Holy shit, has it really been 8 years!? The One Plus One is still one of my most favorite phones that I owned. It did so much out of the box that other phones for double the price didn’t yet offer.
I feel really old just reading your comment.
There is a division because REGULAR PEOPLE DO NOT CARE.
I'm a gadget guy and I respect the person reading this is too, but regular people don't care.
Just... Accept that they don't.
Oh they also are like "cynano-WHAT now?"
regular people get iphones and conform with it.
Yep. They don't care the iPhone isn't a 1080p screen or that it's an a6 or snapdragon 805 or whatever.
Lol
Tech is becoming more of a household thing everyday. Its up to us, the "techies", to give easily digestible info to the masses. Tell your friends. Your siblings. The important thing is for you to give them a solid foundation in this. At the very worst they'll be more informed, at best you'll turn them into one of us!
Philitron128 unfortunately, no. Marketing wins, and Apple has the best marketing.
Therefore, Apple wins.
:-\
***** I understand where you're going, but that has nothing to do with it.
When the say, S3 was breaking sales records, and Motorola was spending ungodly money on "Droid does" ads, Apple was winning.
If you look at the way apple markets, you see they create a different relationship with their users.
It's a strange one to be certain.
Look into the book "Tribes, we need you to lead us" I think it's called.
Very interesting.
Oneplus 6 is here!
Muhammad Ahmed yep, such a long way since
And now already the 6T!!
@@julienckjm7430 one plus 7 rolling out
I want this phone so bad. The pure user experience really intrigues me. No bloatware or contracts or high price. Just a phone with Kit Kat, the rest is yours to change.
hey marques u were so thin then...after seeing this video...i am so happy tht we saw this channel grow and was a part wid u hope our family grow wid u mre and mre..all the best marques our best tech youtuber here!
We might get this phone by 2023, with the requirements being to smash your house
I legit LOL'd at this comment.
1st time MKBHD said LOL within 6 Min. of posting a comment xD
Lol, you win a noble prize.
Still my daily driver, as of 2018. Even though it's been annoying me recently, I strongly believe it's the greatest smartphone ever created. And it's flawless, not a single scuff. I'm finally going to upgrade to the OnePlus 6 in a few days when it's released :)
Just bought my sandstone oneplus one today!
Adrian Tavarez enjoy
how long did that invite take?
+Jesse McClure You are able to purchase the One without an invite now.
oh yeah sry bout that.
+Adrian Tavarez How are you finding it? Does it still have any major bugs?
I'm thinking of buying one as the price has come down since they announced the OnePlus Two.
I'm watching this on my sandstone one plus one here in July 2020. Still going strong.
I finally own this phone!! Came in yesterday! It's a beast! :)
Can I please have an invite brendan123.toole@gmail.com please i promise ill buy it and share the invites
I think they aren't using invites anymore, but can you send one to me pleeeeaaase?
I want an invite please! I'll be the first one that will have this mobile phone in my country so i'll help to make this phone "famous" here too ! I'll be glad if you could send me an invite to this email : maxites10@gmail.com
can i get an invite toluwanidaramola@gmail.com
heyyy can u pleaseee send me an invite i really want this phone badllyyy i am in love with it :D i'll be glad if u send me an invite :D sr_speedfreak@yahoo.com
flawless, a word we didn't hear since this video
i think your way over exaggerating the home button delay yes its not as fast as other phones its a little bit of a delay but its not a whole ten dang second its a tiny fraction of a second longer. for the price you can live with its also fixable in software im sure
I think the problem is more because it's just slightly too long that you notice it, like the slight lag between audio and video you can sometimes find on TV... Not a major deal, but damn will it get annoying!
true but you got to remember this is a device half the price of a flagship its gonna have problems but it will get worked out in software updates
***** I love this phone, amazing for the price, kinks included. Hopefully they do fix that delay, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker if they didn't either
***** this thing cost half as much as i paid for my iphone 5s and has better specs i mean if the worst sin its got is a slow home button i can live with it cause no argument in the world will convince me to pay double the phones worth for an increase in home button speed lol
Exactly, I have to congratulate them for showing how cheap and good phone truly can be! Hopefully this phone stirs up the smartphone companies to either lower prices, or truly start innovating again
Still have mine to this day working! was one of the first to receive the 'invite' from OnePlus just so you could have the opportunity to buy the phone. best phone i ever bought
"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" -Harvey Dent
Am I the only one who noticted the *#NoSleepTeam* Bracelet from ***** in the video? :P Amazing review Marques, it's insane how much stuff you cover in a video that's under 15 minutes. Keep it up!
I did notice .. in fact I was gonna ask if I can get it somewhere !?
Cris pharaoh +Ty Moss sells them!
Cris pharaoh nosleepteam.com :P
He posted that on twitter a couple of days ago --> @MKBHD
SHARP EYES WOW !!!! #Sarcastic
I'm here after OnePlus 6T released!
I want this phone badly even in 2021.. Nostalgia
No comment about the battery? Android Authority says average lifespan, was hoping for MKBHD's opinion..
Love this phone really want it. I live in south america, can the OPO work in south america???? please reply
like i just wanna buy it and bring it over here cause here in south america they have sim cards for cariers
Get it here: amzn.to/1Qh2uXj You save 26$
It works in Peru ☺
Knowledgea then it probably works in bolivia(: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
*Claimed my invite just now for a 64gb sandstone black version.* *But I also have an iPhone 5, what shall I do with it?*
gimme the invite :3
Run the phone over with your car
Wow you literally did the exact thing.
Kane Resurrected You're a fucken legend :DDDD
Kane Resurrected LOL
Watching this on my OnePlus 12 in 2024. Used to own this one two. Good old days.
I bet you the Cyanogenmod developers for this phone have already watched this video and all the problems will be fixed by Cyanogemod and One Plus by their end of their work day tomorrow.
Why can't they get it right the first time? Final version and updates just means flaws to me.
Explains why there are still bugs since CM9 in CM11 huh......
I trust you and CyanogenMod...... Will be awaiting this giveaway
Who's watching this after oneplus 6t
SAME
im watching it on my OnePlus 6T
Watching on 6t too
Who is?
Still watching in op6t 🤣
2014 to 2019..... Journey of OnePlus and MKBHD. Big fan. Never missed a single video from that one to the recent MacBook pro 16inch review.
Why is this in my recommend? It's 2020 in the middle of coronavirus pandemic
TH-cam is giving us choices so we stay inside
Little did he know 10 months ago he wasnt even close to the middle of covid
This or the LG G3. Where I Iive they are basically the same price, really cant decide.
Better with the LG G3
-1440p
-Smaller footprint
-Lighter (13 grams)
-Better Camera
Better with the OnePlus One
-Better Front Facing Camera
-Way better feel in hand
-Better OS (my opinion)
-32GB more Storage
-Better battery Life
-Better Speaker placement/quality
If I have left any points out please let me know :)
The LG g3 bootloops though.
Do a Review of the Surface Pro 3 it looks promising
YA his should really do a review of SP3
Makers need to go back too These Popular Features
1. Removeable Backs
2. Swappable Batteries
3. Curved Backs for better Hend Grip and Feel
4. Bottom From Facing Speaker (MotoX 2014, HTC Boom Sound Style!)
5. Custom LED Looks I really like the LED Ring that Surrounds the Camera
6. Bigger Sensor with Lower MP Count aka sub 45mp (Lumia 1020 like!) While more Pixels get more details this is only true if each pixel gets enough light!
7. Xeon Flash (keep LED they can be used in Tandem or just for Flashlight!)
Features that was rarely if never done but should be
1. IR Flash for more Details
2. Magnetic Charging (Think Moto Mod Style but!) instead of QI Charging
3. Moto Mods by far the best Modular System
4. Plastic Screen Phones especially for Kids and Elderly aimed devices (They could just use a Plastic Film Screen Protector to stop Permanente Scratches!)
5. Metal Uni-Body instead of Fixed Glass Backs (especially if they won't bring back easy to remove backs which can be made of Plastic, Glass or Metal etc and still be IP Rated!)
Oneplus one, launched in 2014 have 1080p display and apple took 6 years to come up with an iPhone with 1080p display in it.
huhh...
