    I’m going to try and address multiple concerns here. Multiple people have asked how the LS800 compares to the Formovie, the Awol, and the PX1-Pro. This is not a simple question to answer because each projector has its benefits. The main drawbacks to the the LS800 are lack of 4k resolution, no E-ARC, and no Dolby Vision. If you can live without those things you will be rewarded with a very low throw ratio, high brightness, low input lag, and no rainbow effect. It really comes down to your personal preference.

      Chris: The world of electronics right now is a “mine-field of competing claims” and abilities”. What I find distressing is whether or not firstly: Does the product live up to the manufacturers HYPE at its price-point? 2) How well does it do in competition against similar products? I think folks get confused by all the hype and buy the product in-belief it will live-up to it. Not always the case. Case in point: Sony got skunked by JVC in the VE long-throw shootout. I wasn’t expecting that result! Obviously Sony’s much heralded proprietary tone-mapping came up quite SHORT vs JVC. (re:base-black) I expect Sony will eventually get around to fixing it, just glad I didn’t put out the cash right now! Phew. Wouldn’t have known without a properly conducted shootout! Thanks for doing what you do collectively.

    I have a 150 inch screen in a room with windows so the really short throw ratio and super high brightness make this perfect, but not having 4K at that 150" size is a deal breaker. No Dolby vision and no eARC are also big negatives. Almost the perfect UST that I've been waiting for minus those 3 fatal flaws. Going to continue waiting for just the right UST before upgrading my set up. We're getting closer.

    Switched from TV to Projector in 2012, use after seeing a friends during the Super Bowl. Not ideal but always used the projector as the main 120 "TV" in the living room with an ALR screen with good results. Never had anything but Epson, first one was a 2030, then a 4000, and now a LS11000. I use my AVR>Apple TV as the source for everything, in HDR10+, and the picture is really good. These UST projectors look promising, curious how it would compare to my long throw LS11000 in a living room setup. I think the dealbreaker would be the lack of HDR10+, and the HDMI 2.1. The Hisense ones may have it all, but curious if as bright.

But I play Xbox series s and ps5 on it and no matter what I do (move away, tilt screen, or move closer, or mess with the focus) I can only get about 40% clear and everything else is blurry. Great video. I've been looking at USTs lately and most of them aren't all that UST as all that. To do a 120 inch screen with a Xgimi or Formovie, the projector has to come out a huge amount from the wall, and even with a low tv bench, the screen literally winds up crammed against the ceiling and is way too high. This is much better, you get way closer and the distance vertically to the bottom of the screen is much more appropriate, so a 120 inch in a normal height room becomes a possibility. I was hoping to get away with a grand less, but... no rainbow effect fears, and hugely easier and neater placement in addition to picture quality like this, I dunno man... maybe I'll buy another Epson. My previous one I had years and years ago.

So if they want to make sure he doesn’t outshine the FT against the Epson, Epson would need to dish out some cash. What hypocrisy. • @ChrisMajestic
      @ChrisMajestic ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What are you talking about? I’m ALWAYS completely honest. I’m not being paid by and of these brands. The Formovie looks great in a dark room but not so much during the day because of lack of brightness. On the other hand the Epson is significantly brighter but lacks in a dark room environment and is significantly less sharp with its lack of 4k resolution. What more do you want to know. I personally prefer brighter projectors so I’m leaning more toward the Epson but I haven’t decided which I think is better overall. If I could get more brightness out of the Formovie it would be perfect.

    • @ice2hotlord
      @ice2hotlord ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrisMajestic For the answer above I take my comment back. So basically you prefer the Epson for the brightness over the Formovie because you prefer brightness. Formovie or Epson. Which one is it?

      Come on buddy. @@ice2hotlord relax I was typing. Lol. I understand though. Huge purchase.
      But with a gun to my head if I had to choose between the two I’d go for the Formovie. It wasn’t perfect but after it warms up it’s significantly sharper than the Epson and has better contrast and black levels. Yes the Epson has a few benefits over the Formovie (brightness, input lag, throw ratio, etc.) but unless you need something super bright the Formovie works very well.
