I remember being excited about Rebel Assault II when it was released, mainly because it was the closest I could get to more Star Wars movies at the time
The 90's was peak Star Wars. The OG trilogy got the remaster and was re-released in special edition VHS box sets, Episode 1, some of the best Star Wars games ever... all before the dark times of Disney.
One of my most favourite games, I love Star Wars, and this game give perfect atmosphere of “Star Wars” universe, excellent flying levels, battles with empire storm troopers, and perfect cinematic videos which supplement it all. it game be and still fantastic! 😊👍 I remember it with joy, and had a lot of pleasure to play this game!
I wish more games contained cutscenes of this quality. If you every play the newer Mortal Kombat games or Injustice, the story telling that leads into the game play is so satisfying. I love those games.
I really do miss the times where a game like this would come out, we'd go to Blockbuster to rent it for the weekend and just be blown away. I don't get that feeling anymore with modern games. They just all blend together now. They might be bigger but I feel like they have a lot less heart. Maybe I'm wrong.

As a kid that initial millennium falcon fly section crushed me over and over again. I rarely made it past that during playthroughs before I'd get frustrated and quit lol. Those were the days ....
In this game, a Lucasart employee played Vader in the suit; Andrew Nelson. And Scott Lawrence voiced Vader. Back then, the performance was so good I actually thought that it was 'the real' Vader from the movies (I.E. Prowse in the suit, and James voicing him). They just nailed it with this game.
Christ this brings back memories. My friend had this game on his PlayStation, worked great a couple of times and then the disc got scratched and it was buggy as hell and kept crashing
Lol I had the same problem. The disc itself was fine, but I was trying to play on a first generation Playstation, and by my second year that thing would just not read the disc properly. It kept skipping, glitching and eventually made the games unplayable. Then I got the updated Dual Shock PS1 and it made all the difference. Ahh, the 90s!
I randomly rented this from Blockbuster way back. Loved tf outta it. Ever since, I haven't been able to rent it again and every gaming store I've checked never carried it or were sold out. I thought this game was a figment of my imagination. 😅
This was fun to watch. I played this game as a kid, it was decent, but had it's flaws. I appreciate it more now. Overall the graphics are pretty solid for 1995, and probably one of the better FMV on rails shooters of that time. Thx for sharing!
I didn't know this was on PlayStation 1. I remember playing this on PC. I MEAN IT STILL LOOKS GREAT AND IT SURE BRINGS BACK MEMORIES. I remember playing this game with 256 colors. I'm pretty sure it was VGA graphics. The color depth looks a lot better on PlayStation.
I might be looking at this with some heavy nostalgia goggles, but I dont care. I love this game. It was simple, but fun. Plus I loved the FMV cutscenes. The actors seemed to be having a good time performing and nothing felt phoned in. Plus having access to the costumes and set pieces really helped. Took me forever to get past those mining tunnels though....

There will be ventilation shaft wide enough to fit 2-3 star fighters, and this shaft will be leading straight to the reactor.”
I played the hell out of this game on my PlayStation it was a lot of fun and some of it challenging btw did they ever make a Rebel Assault 3 🤔 if they did it never came out on the PS1 or PS2
Totally agree this game is fantastic, no bullshit upgrades. Crafting weapons etc. Just GAMEPLAY. Would love this remastered for VR2 or something similar. Rail shooters made with passion.
this was my first ps1 game. i was so bummed when i finally played it cause it was so limited. then someone swiped it from my backpack at school and i hope those miserable pricks were bored too.
The audio is not that great ...also , I remember playing this game when my playstation died and the game was destroyed..there are markings on the far side of the gameplay that gives it an 8 MM film look
Wow so the game is intentionally choppy? I thought it was my PC at that time and was reason why it was this choppy. So I was going the proper frame. Not entirely sure if I can remember correctly but I would say probably 24 frames per second on some of the scenes cuz that was one of the options I think was for my PC too. I just found it odd that it seems smooth on some scenes but choppy on others. I can't remember if I try to use my Voodoo 2 on it or not to improve the framerate....

Amen! That level, the asteroid x wing level, and the speeder bike dagobah levels each took me weeks to beat.

It was all we had in the early to mid 90's StarWars wise. X-Wing series, Tie Fighter Series and RA 1 & 2. Still have all the cd-roms.
