Great job Kelly! One of my favorite spots when I was younger. Still my favorite aquarium that I have ever been to. They used to have an old schooner or some type sailing ship that was converted to a restaurant . That was pretty cool. Went there for a few days around 7 years ago. The places were all still good. Bubba Gump was fun. I forget the name of the nice restaurant on the water we ate at. The hotel was beautiful. The cruise around was nice.
But.
The homeless were an issue. They were everywhere. Maybe they weren't in the Winter. Homeless people, while sad of course, don't bother me particularly. This area had lots of people really bugging you for money. One was, well, lets say very insulting to my wife. Just as she was getting over that, another guy decided to expose himself. We had 6 or 7 bad interactions with them over just a few days.
Thanks for watching and commenting, John!! Yes, when we were there a couple summers ago, the homeless were more prevalent. This time around, there was hardly any. One person was walking around asking for money, but he was being comical about it. I actually don't mind when they make it funny. Kinda like those signs that say "I'll be honest, I just need money for beer." But yes, when they are insulting or aggressive or rude, it certainly leaves a stain on your experience.
When we were in San Francisco a year ago, there was a man walking around Fisherman's Wharf with his hands down his pants ogling younger girls. There were definitely homeless there but not nearly what a lot of the media make it out to seem. It's still a place I love to go to.
And when my wife and I were in Paris a couple years ago, we encountered the most aggressive panhandlers and scammers ever while trying to visit the Sacre Coeur. We didn't even get to go inside because they would block you trying to sell these cheap bracelets. And when you declined they would get very aggressive and even try to grab you. My being from Los Angeles and growing up around a lot of gang members, and being a hockey player, I have a short fuse LOL. I grabbed one of them and shoved him back and they all cried foul and scattered out. I don't think they were actually scared of lil ol' me, but I'm sure they didn't want to cause more of a scene than needed...it's just most people, especially Europeans and tourists, have a lot higher threshold for stuff like that. So they get away with it more than not.
Anyway, a long winded reply to say that Baltimore was great this time around. Let's hope in the summertime, it's the same!
Would you got for a 3 night trip?
@@travelmanMN I believe it was three nights, yeah. Mighta been two. It was a multi stop trip up and down the east coast from NY to Outer Banks.
