I accidentally do it because of how I hold my mouse 😂 I hate it so much. Had to train a new mouse grip. Luckily I play tank so no reason to not melee sometimes I guess
The problem with ban waves is that it allows cheaters to continue cheating for several weeks without getting banned, rather than being banned instantly and not getting to play at all. It emboldens them to continue cheating in the future
That's a really good point. If they get to play for a few weeks they're more motivated to find other cheats. They get banned instantly they might actually realise it was a waste of money
ultimately its better long run tho. You gotta lure the rats out of their hole with the cheese so the mousetrap can get em. Given they have said IP bans are on the table, this WILL cut the cheaters down, there will always be some but having to circumvent an IP ban is a serious hurdle at least.
It lets cheaters play for a little longer but it overall works better. PirateSoftware explained in a video that ban waves are used because it helps prevent the cheat developer from knowing how it was detected and give them a whole bunch of angry customers to deal with at once.
With blatant cheats yeah an instant ban makes sense. Otherwise, no, ban waves are better for keeping cheaters away for sometime. Cheaters are gonna cheat.
The issue with instant banning is it allows the cheat makers to toggle cheats on one by one until the account gets banned. Thus telling them what cheat codes they need to modify in real time. By doing ban waves the idea is the cheat providers then have to dissect the anti cheat to discover what got their code flagged. Cheats will always be a game of cat and mouse where the game devs are having to react on the back foot.

@flats About the melee thing at 8:55. I have my melee key on my mouse where my thumb rest. When panic ensues, I could accidentally press it, but I’m not sure about other people’s melee key binds
I've got my melee bound the same way, just because it's so much easier to click in a pinch. I've changed mouses since I originally bound it like that, and my current mouse makes it so much easier to accidentally hit it whenever my thumb so much as twitches. lol But it's also entirely possible aimbotters have a toggle bound to their melee button just to potentially be "less sus" if/when called out for cheating.
This is definitely something I've noticed in cheater vods though, I was so happy to hear Flats mention it because I've been wondering about it for a while but never heard it acknowledged until now. They do singular melees at random times that don't make sense in the context. Legit players (myself included) melee randomly plenty, too, but we will hit it more than once, and it will be at a time where we are in an idling mode like walking from spawn or something. So it there is still some "logic" to it. Btw I also have my melee bound to the same place! (It's on 5, which is in the middle of the gaming mouse's numpad where my thumb is.)
@@karamei There is absolutely 0 correlation to meleeing with cheaters, most of the internal cheats have their menu bound to insert or a key that has no action bound in-game.
@@greatbritain1799 Triggers are usually on melee, spray and emote. Why u think u see so many people spray all the time in higher Elo's? Like toggles are bound to action keys because if u keep pressing a unregistered button all the time in overwatch consistently then you are kinda self reporting.
usually when people melee randomly, its because they have a cheat menu open and their melee hotkey is the same one the use to toggle the cheat menu options. it used to be like that in call of duty back in the day
It's sad, I wish Blizzard cared more about their games. I remember actually enjoying OW1 when me and my friends first got it. But the hacker/cheater situation just kept growing and I fell out of it cause it felt like every match I was the only one not cheating. I would love to get into OW2 but the situation has only intensified and I am not eager to interact with those people again.
i have never in my life watched any cheater rewiev in overwatch but this vidoe got me crying and gasping for air from laughter. the slow deterioration into madness is just so funny
8:20 finally someone says it!!! I've noticed this "random singular melee" behavior in so many cheater vods and have wondered if there must be something bound to V (I think that is the default melee - I have it rebound) in their cheat program or something like that. Or maybe the act of meleeing. It's funny because I'll occasionally randomly spam melee too, but that's the thing. I spam it, and usually during times of idling or like walking out of spawn because I'm bored and want to hit buttons. They always use it ONCE at a time, and at weird times. So I've been convinced for a while that there's something to this theory but I've never heard anyone else mention it until now.
i sometimes melee once after reloading on widow and ana because forever ago (like, years) there was an animation canceling with reload into melee tip. it turned out to not be true (or at the very least it's so minute it doesn't matter) but i havent been able to shake it lol but sleep/nade for ana DOES technically make her reload faster. if you throw either while she's in the animation, when she reattempts it's significantly faster! super niche but i've saved my rein a couple times with it
27:28 Precisely. Cheaters don't want to get caught. It's subtle. 10% improvement alone is huge. Anything with the intelligence of a walnut can do a lot with that boost. These two though.. wow. Fragile little egos.
The Something with the Melee is the toggle, had a soldier who had it bound to his crouch key in a game the other day, crouch to toggle on and off. most use melee as it is common button to hit.
"What happened to the game I love?" this sums up my feelings on the current state of overwatch. I really hope that this hotfix today addresses some of these issues but I'm not holding my breath.

@@LuciferthekingofpurgitoryI haven’t played in a week but last time I played I got 2 cheaters in a day, which is two too many for a billion dollar company’s game.
Typically cheat menus in game have a combination of keys you don’t often press to open the menu (this is usually crouching or melee added together so they can also be used by someone who might choose to be playing on controller) that’s why you notice the players seemingly randomly meleeing, it opens the cheat menu so they can make adjustments which works as an overlay in the game
i have a comment on the melee thing, it most likely is that the aim key is in their side mouse buttons and some people usually keep their melee in there too. in a panic you might either confuse the buttons or press both at the same time

I have my melee key on my mouse where my thumb rest. When panic ensues, I could accidentally press it, but I’m not sure about other people’s melee key binds
I've got my melee bound the same way, just because it's so much easier to click in a pinch. I've changed mouses since I originally bound it like that, and my current mouse makes it so much easier to accidentally hit it whenever my thumb so much as twitches. lol
But it's also entirely possible aimbotters have a toggle bound to their melee button just to potentially be "less sus" if/when called out for cheating.
@@Rrg45451 That's not how it works at all, How are you self reporting if you're pressing an action key that is unbound?
this feels like a normal game that slowly descends into weird surreal horror over time.
I never thought that projectile weapons would have been aimbotted so well. Damn.
usually when people melee randomly, its because they have a cheat menu open and their melee hotkey is the same one the use to toggle the cheat menu options. it used to be like that in call of duty back in the day
It's sad, I wish Blizzard cared more about their games. I remember actually enjoying OW1 when me and my friends first got it. But the hacker/cheater situation just kept growing and I fell out of it cause it felt like every match I was the only one not cheating. I would love to get into OW2 but the situation has only intensified and I am not eager to interact with those people again.
17:20......My favorite moment of this video when the Widow tries to melee punch the dragon. 🤣
i have never in my life watched any cheater rewiev in overwatch but this vidoe got me crying and gasping for air from laughter. the slow deterioration into madness is just so funny
as soon as widow turns the cehats to 100% he just turns into Carl Wheezer. "oooh maann" lmao
So I've been convinced for a while that there's something to this theory but I've never heard anyone else mention it until now.
i sometimes melee once after reloading on widow and ana because forever ago (like, years) there was an animation canceling with reload into melee tip. it turned out to not be true (or at the very least it's so minute it doesn't matter) but i havent been able to shake it lol
but sleep/nade for ana DOES technically make her reload faster. if you throw either while she's in the animation, when she reattempts it's significantly faster! super niche but i've saved my rein a couple times with it
@@endless_del yeah there's logic to that usage though!
The Illiari spinning like a Sky Dancer when slowing down the footage😂
Nah man, there was no cheating, that Hanzo player was actually just Hawkeye in his free time.
“Perfectly geometry” that one Hanzo every time he sees the widowm
"What happened to the game I love?" this sums up my feelings on the current state of overwatch. I really hope that this hotfix today addresses some of these issues but I'm not holding my breath.
wait what hotfix?
@@springroll4421 my b, it was just battlenet launcher maintenance
copium, really. We always hope the next update or patch will fix it... It never does
It just gets progressively worse after each update, man. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I would give anything to have Overwatch 1 back.
@@LiterallySpikeSpiegel same though. The game is degrading so much from what it used to be
Funny how the Hanzo was blind firing his ult at the spawn door the Widow was coming out of. Several times!
"and he missed his helix rocket on a fg inanimate object!!!" lmao
Jajaja wtf!
Sesuko is a Spanish OW TH-camr. Actually he made a video reaction of this video.
If I wanna see, some formative ow videos, that youtuber is too good.
Nice day folks
Apparently this is a hacker using his name.
8:27 the cass slo mo roll got me so bad 💀
Don’t know how to tell y’all this, but a game becoming a playground for cheaters is pretty much the single most historically well known sign that a game can be called “dead”.
TF2 sends regards.
It's certantly more alive than that Russian bot farm were you come from.
Blizzard is truly the Diablo immortal of game developers
Its not only Blizzard... take a look at Apex state atm, CS and other shooters/ BR`s...
@@poemz87apex and CS are a million times better than Overwatch right now 😊
@@BigOwl51when’s the last time you had a cheater in your game?
@@LuciferthekingofpurgitoryI haven’t played in a week but last time I played I got 2 cheaters in a day, which is two too many for a billion dollar company’s game.
@@LuciferthekingofpurgitoryI’ve had cheaters every day in at least one match for the last 4 days not even CS was this bad
Flats glitched out at 9:00😂
Nah bro, it was a fast forward. 😂
Sidenote: I imagine you were joking and knew it was a time lapse.
Beyblade McCree is the most hilarious Overwatch thing I've ever seen!
This Hanzo is straight up "YOU GOT CHEATS ILL SHOW YOU CHEATS!"
i have a comment on the melee thing, it most likely is that the aim key is in their side mouse buttons and some people usually keep their melee in there too. in a panic you might either confuse the buttons or press both at the same time
My cat was offended by the “wee” sounds towards the end.
Mine too hahaha
Everyone needs to watch this video, so often people think "they're not cheating" but there are clear signs and flats explains them really well
Flats sounded like he was on helium this whole video. Bro was so bewildered 😂❤
Someone please calculate the Cheater+Cheats to Flats Emotional Outburst Ration. Its so funny seeing him at the beginning like: Yeah i dont ussually do this....maybe...ill do another. [25 minutes Later] "BEYBLADE BEYBLADE LET EM RIP

"What happened to the game I loved?"
It died when OW2 came out 💀
Sesuko? That's a famous Spanish overwatch streamer XD
I believe that is a random cheater that uses his name with a brand new account because doesn't own any skin or gold weapon
He is an imposter, Sesuko likes Ashe more and uses skins xd
this is the average enemy Hanzo in my quick play games 😭
30:16 That guy is pissed the hell off lmao
Hes seeing red
Cheater vids are my favorite vids. I understand they aren't flat's favorite but I sure do love them.
BRO the Rein at 20:40 turned into a Raptor Jet just nyooom
YEET
bro the looking down at the floor i busted out laughing
Came back from a weekend away to see the majority of OW vids be about rampant cheating and complaints about the game in general 😂
it will never not be hilarious to me how easily bruised a cheater's ego is
28:31 mercy’s face is what every overwatch players face looks like every game
Anybody else think that mcree rolling at 8:25 is hilarious 😂
I was like “damn look at em gol
Bro cheaters really not getting banned anymore, im getting more in my games tooo
i think the melee thing is to break the tracking. you notice how they was tracking the lucio in overtime, but after the shot and melee they was able to look around freely
Flats vs Drums

Drums for maximum dipping efficiency
@@vanishhero964yes but, flats for maximum meatage.
i honestly love this, its gonna help point out whats happening to the game and also give us entertainment with the "weeeeeeeeee". bring back spectating cheaters pls
1:15 that's me.
I noticed at the start of this year a slow but steady rise in cheaters, which was when I stopped playing because I KNEW this would happen.
I love these videos but it’s so sad to see that this is a regular thing that happens I was at my mates place and he doesn’t play comp to often but the times he does this is what happens and he’s not even high elo it’s so sad
It’s a small detail but the pause from window after spawning at 11.40 then the ‘triggered’ thing coming into frame is pure art
I hate it when you're wiping an your finger pokes through the toilet paper. Ruined my morning.
Flats missed it, but at 14:35 the Hanzo's aimbot locks onto the Lucio THROUGH THE WALL and he actually tries to fire at him xD
all this and they wont get banned but i will get banned for asking my team to counter swap

Gotta love the no team pocket mercy who knows they hack but still goes along for the free game win
just amazing this game has become
New to OW so its always cool seeing vids from ya and DANG the editor's choice in osts are awesome❤
So here's overwatch ban logic from this season!
(from what I've gathered)
Somone says a slur/absolutely something involving bigotry in chat: no ban
Someone is full on rage hacking/ximming: no ban
Someone is hard smurfing: no ban
Someone saying "wtf was that?": Banable (yes this happened to me but i was lucky enough to get a warning)
It seemed like for the most part Hanzo was half firing when it wasn’t widow. The only one he wanted to off was widow and I love that
When Flats mentions the random melee, I’m pretty sure cheats have an auto melee feature.
8:28 😂 i love how i have never seen slowmo Mcassidy roll. He's majestic.
Why are one shots even in this game?
At 20:30 when she pops walls, there is the slightest bit of tracking on whoever is coming out of there spawn…
