      @bravado7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Elephant man I forgot that I was supposed to reply to myself every week for eternity. I don't think "Vote Leave" and Boris Johnson have honest in their promises.
      A lot of people voted to leave while believing a whole pack of lies. When British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his Brexit trade deal on December 24, he said it would enable UK companies "to do even more business" with the European Union. And more business with Australia/India - it's called having your cake and eating it too. Or the cake was a lie.

    • @bravado7
      @bravado7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Elephant man Thus my recommendation for needing a supermajority (60 or 66%) vote rather than a simple majority (50% plus one) for big decisions.

All countries which rely on foreign workers like us are facing similar problems - people went home during the pandemic and many haven't come back. The actual truckers will tell you this is a crisis long in the making due to the general shittiness of working in that industry. Brexit doesn't have much to do with this. Then your not taking disabled peoples needs into account by just saying that caters should be given priority and not those and people with special disability beeds

    Boris expects people 'when they really need it'. As most vehicles have fuel tanks of around 50 - 60 litres, I am wondering how much people are actually stocking up on fuel. Do people have secret places where they store fuel or are they storing it in the bath at home or something? When I fill up, I fill up. I think this is more or less normal practice.

      @@AegisK There is enough copper true but it is just a case of getting it out of the ground and processing it. That will require a new level of industry and vast open cast mining so will take a long time and a lot of good will. I am not in favour of any particular system but there are practicalities. Emergency generators only need to be small because the power required is minimal, it is a minor technical point. There are vast reserves of fossil fuel already discovered.
      At the end of the day each system will have its own carbon footprint. Battery electric cars could solve the storage problem of wind farms because old EV batteries can be repurposed to store Wind produced energy. The Government commissioned report many years ago came down against wind farms and for tidal energy which is reliable. But the government decided to go with wind turbines which look better on TV.

      Ask the National Grid. They want more EVs. They can use them to stabilise the grid. They foresee no problem supplying EVs.
      Digging up the raw materials which will be used for many decades is nowhere near as polluting as digging up oil which can only be used once.
      And the manufacturing is increasingly running on renewable energy so the embedded emissions in the cars is going down every year.
      It's an open and shut case. The science is resoundingly clear. No car is "good" for the planet, but petrol cars are much worse than EVs.
