Great advice. Sometimes when my comedy writing feels flat or it’s seem like it serves a purpose but it’s not funny, it usually because it’s too positive. For writers block, this advice helps nudge me back into the right direction.
Being new to playing Cmndr Pheno and Capt.Zeno!, 2 grey Aliens for the past year its been really interesting to say the least on how we we're going to be accepted by the public. We also do live shows from concerts, parties, anything that we can do to make people laugh at us and themselves. And when they approach us to take pixs and ask..Why the Alien character and cutting jokes and doing comedy skitts? and we'll its just all in fun and we'll people in general see Aliens as strange, weird maybe a danger to us all as we are to believe. And im not saying that they are or not! Because ive never meet one. We look forward to your next videos. It showed us alot and how to improve on our show. We're sub to you. Thanks again!👽👽✌.
Many of the hilarious characters were actually people you would unlikely want to actually spend time with. Lucy was a liar, schemer, untrustworthy and very immature. Archie, well what can I add...? I guess it falls under the category of it's funny when it's happening to somebody else...
“Embraces what makes them a loser” really knowledgeable perspective 👌🏾
Not just for writing comedic characters, but also for life. A "loser" who embraces himself becomes a comedian.
Those last words he said reminds me of the film 'The Jerk.' Such a classic.

Do they create the characters before they write the sketch or is it the other way around?
I'd say, make the characters first.
Mr Walker choose right
