    Thank you for this guidance. Because for my whole life I wanted to be a actor. And for your guidance I will give my 100% and become the actor I want to become.

    Great pacing in all of those. Isaac's physical comedy had me rolling. Commitment immediately reminded me of John C. McGinley on Scrubs and how Bill Lawrence talked about it during his DVD commentary (yeah, dating myself there).

    I had an acting teacher tell me I have a skill for comedy. After watching your video, I now have more understanding of what exactly is going on and how it works and why. I think sometimes when it’s instinctual, and you try to put your finger on what exactly is working it’s not always easy to describe. You explain things so well! Thank you!! I like how you bring up the concept of patterns and the deliberate use of beats.

    i got a question. What’s a non principal actor/talent?

    • @Studio24inc
      @Studio24inc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Layla, great question! Generally, non principal role would be nonspeaking/extra in a television or film production!

    From observations over the years; people are either funny or they’re not. It’s often an innate personality trait - I can even see it/an innate sense of humour in the baby here 😊 Not entirely convinced one can “learn” to be funny without it sounding contrived and a bit cringeworthy.
    Regarding tone and intonation; a lower tone doesn’t always indicate the audience shouldn’t laugh/find it funny. Depends where in the world you find yourself. Irish, Australian and British self-deprecating humour is often delivered in a lower / monotone voice. Either way, spontaneity is vital.

    I love all your videos and this video has great pointers but we both know you can’t “really”teach somebody to be funny you can Guide them obviously. But it’s like you have it or you don’t. In my opinion. I mean no disrespect.

    I have a problem:- people dont feel my emotions when i act realistically, and when i fake my acting, they feel the emotions why?
    Like when i really laugh, people dont feel the emotion and when i fake laugh, they feel it. Can you give any advice for this sir?

    • @robinndjavera5625
      @robinndjavera5625 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Damn Id like to understand that too, did you get any advice on that?

    • @John-rd7vb
      @John-rd7vb 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@robinndjavera5625 no advice yet , but I figured out that sometimes fake acting works. Because in real life many people when crying, look ugly, it's not ugly actually, thats how it is. But people are so used to seeing crying in the movies that we have to fake act and sometimes cry in a specific way to make it work. This is what I somehow figured out by myself.

    Just what a previously mentioned CD said to me about the difference between stage and screen: "Theatre is like cooking; it's an art with leeway. But film is like baking: it's a recipe that's exact."

    The thing for me is: I’m brazilian, so my native language is portuguese, usually people around me find me funny, but in my own language, how do I become funny in english as well?
    I’m planning on going to the US to pursue an acting career, is living there and just having friends and contacts with the language everyday going to give me what it takes to be as funny as I am in portuguese? Because I know I have a fast mind for comedy, I just need to have it in english too.
    Anyway, thanks for your videos, they’re going to my super helpful in my journey.
