I've got the Surf Green one. I bought it a few years back, on sale for $129. I haven't changed a thing in it, though it could use some tuners. The pickups are really good and I like the unfinished neck. I love it!
I picked one up a month ago, the tuners are ridiculously soft... other than that....I love it. It's in the ballpark as far as the sound.... playability wise she's got a little attitude, but you just have to show it who's boss... it's like trying to brake a wild horse... i actually kind of like that, it keeps my playing honest.
This goes to show how different guitars can be. The tuning machines on mine are pretty great surprisingly. The fret ends were bad and the back of the neck was insanely rough. About 45 mins of work and the fret ends were addressed and the back of the neck smoothed out. It plays fairly well now. The pickups and electronics are not good ... so depending on knowledge and how much you spend ... this can be decent, but isn't out of the gate, at least in my experience.
The Donlis pickups tickled my ears the best, more bite and better mids and highs. Did not hear much improvement from stock to the Fleors. All these pickups sound better when played with feeling and intention and also play your amp the right way. Teles generally demand you get in the game and try, and when you do you are rewarded for it.
The ceramic pickups sound good. Only issue will be if they're micro phonic at high gain levels. If they are, you can't wax pot them, due to their construction. The guitar sounds more modern because of the 6 way bridge, but that can be a real asset, especially for rhythm work. A set of steel saddles will cost around £12, they will add some zing and sustain! If it's a 4 screw bridge, you can easily swap it to a traditional 3 saddle one. Good choice of rosewood neck on a thinner body. Great video.
is this guitar made in indonesia? i couldn't find any info about this guitar with the serial number in the back i see this guitar in facebook marketplace but i dunno if its worth to buy it
I love this video on many levels. It just pleases my introverted mind. Btw. the things you were playing, are they actual songs? I really enjoyed listening to that.
I think the sound of your Squier will not be good with this green color.. Try to paint your sofa with maybe true red or false blue.. To be more efficient and to have a bigger spectrum in the medium
I just go the butterscotch squire tele. Got to put strings on it. Plays good out from the store ( guitar center) I'm going to try and do what I can to get it looking sharp and playing. Thanks for tips. Subscribed.
I'm taking this a step further and just out right swapping the neck, pickguard, the single coil pickups with that of Humbuckers, and also swapping out the stock single string tree with that of Graphtech bone string trees,as far as the bridge goes I may consider a Floyd Rose 1 in case I have to route more material on the body.
well... now im decided to buy this squier and mod it. the neck pickup slot was sized for the single coil, right? if I wanna put a humbucker there I guess I will need to drill
oh man, I'm a little disappointed I would buy it, in my country it's prettier and cheaper but apparently it doesn't tune, the pickups are muddy as I said I don't know if it's worth taking me for the aesthetics but thanks for the video
I have the sea foam green bullet tele. Did some very similar mods. Did you have a problem with the holes in the bridge and the holes in the bridge pickup for the mounting screws not lining up?
@@nofunnosound Yes, I can only let the pickup up to a certain point. When I place the pickup into the bridge the mounting holes are off. Mainly the single hole on the neck side of the pickup (if that is clear). I contemplated replacing the bridge altogether for a Squier Standard Tele bridge from Amazon. I seem to be the only person that has run into this problem.
@@nofunnosound It's the Custom Shop Twisted Tele Pickups. I also had a problem with the neck pickup not fitting in the pickguard, but that was an easy fix. I just scraped the pickup slot untl it slid in.
En mi pais el salvador estan pero carisimas, mas que ñas stratocaster, a pesar de tener una paleta de sonidos mas grande... latima. Pero esa tele es muy muy buena.
Did you had to make adjustments on the neck after putting 10-46 on the guitar? Because I also have the bullet telecaster and it came with 9-42 gauge. Thinking about switching to 10-46.
Thank you for your message ! I may have been lucky but I didn't have to adjust the neck by switching to 10/46 but I am tuned in Eb. It's now my main guitar, I play with it a lot and it doesn't move!
My neck on my bullet is dead straight, in a way that I can’t turn the truss rod clockwise anymore. Literally dead straight (no string buzz tho) But currently still using the stock strings which are 9s but now I want to put 10s on it. Do I need to add relief first, then put the strings, let the neck get used to the tension and then straighten the neck again? Or? I’m kinda afraid that I will mess it up.
@@PTRK490 I'm not an expert, but this change in string size won't be very brutal for the neck. I doubt it reacts enough to realize it. And in the worst case, a quarter turn on the trussroad and it's good ;)
Its a decent beginner guitar but you can do a lot better for the money , get an Ibanez Gio for the same price and put Seymour Duncan's in , thats what i have and it can play anything , from Yngwie to George Lynch to Jimmy Page or Slash. And no fret buzz or dead frets or nut issues.
Yes but the ibanez are very ugly for me and with the squier you have the right body shape and tele head, so the fender parts are compatible. You don't buy a tele to play everything. For me it's boring to have a versatile guitar, I need personality. Everyone has their own approach ;) And the gio is more expensive !
cool dude! I also decided to put Fleor Alnico V Pickups in my Strat! they sound really good! and I also hate those tuners! Have the same problem but I will put bigger bushings into the headstock. Why did you not shield your guitar with copper? don't you think this helps to? great video :D
I bought a fleor humbucker kit to install in my very first guitar, but I have a lot of work to do on it... it will be the subject of a big video by the way ;) I didn't isolate the telecaster cavity as I never found it very impressive. I play with relatively little gain so I think I can skip it. With standard single pickups anyway, there really isn't a miracle solution..
The video was interesting enough,,, but coming from a country picker from the influence of chet Atkins, Steve Wariner, and Jerry Reed this really hurt my ears...
I'm not agree with you ! The classic vibe series does not have the same feeling at all and the neck is less comfortable. I much prefer the bullet. the mechanics and pickups of the classic vibes are no better, so with the change, the bullet is more advantageous for my taste ;)

The Fleors sound best to my ears. Great vid, thanks! 👍
Probably the best and most honest review of a Bullet on TH-cam.. Great playing, man! Took a lot of mods to make this a decent guitar...
Thanks !
I’m a huge Wilko Johnson fan since 1976. I’m getting one of these Bullet Telecasters (in black, of course) ‼️😎😎
RIP Wilko 😥

Donlis sounds more clear than the rest of pickups, what is the set? Regards!
Hi,
I think that there is only one set of donlis telecaster pickups. You can find it on several website. Thx !
I honestly cant tell the difference. Do they have more output? what about the feedback/noise?? 3y later, do you still have that guitar?
Ah, c'est un ASMR video, compris. That's why I searched for a Tele copy that was already slightly modified because a new Squier isn't worth the money.
i think FLEOR sounds better than remaining ...

With the new tuner ferrules being wrong size, did this affect tuning\play?
