When loading crane mats throw a couple 2x4’s as spacers in between the mats so you can unload or else forks can’t get underneath to pick up. Or just use an excavator with chains. Good luck, need to see how it plays out!! Go head girl we see you!

That sucks! I've seen excavators stuck out in the pond but not that far out in the middle of nowhere. They should dig a big hole and put some of those wood mats down in the hole with heavy cable wrapped around them for the stuck excavator to grab onto, then bury them so that they act as an anchor for the excavator to pull against and pull itself out. I've seen excavators completely lost, and others that had to be completely taken apart and removed piece by piece. I hope there was some harder bottom not too much farther under it, and that they got it out.
