@@Devils_Arrow Have you ever driven a truck without mirrors? I had mine broken a couple times in city traffic, it's not something any respectful truck driver would ever choose to do.

    • @Devils_Arrow

@@Ihavebeenwatchingyou you're going out of your way to essentially insult the guy's integrity here. It's very clear that you didn't listen to what he was saying.
Regardless, your negativity serves no purpose here. He could buy your rig 10 times over and still have play money to live off of for the rest of his life, yet he spends his time using these trucks and other equipment to help people and ADD value to the lives of those around him. You're worried about a side mirror.

    • @Ihavebeenwatchingyou
      @Ihavebeenwatchingyou ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@Devils_Arrow You are right, if he runs over a car changing lanes he can always use the 'but my rig is not finished yet' defense. Or do the road rules not apply to rich people? I don't believe it's being negative to point out how incredibly stupid it is to choose to drive a truck without mirrors. He has the time, money and resources to stick a couple of mirrors on the truck before driving it. So yeah I am worried, not about a single side mirror, about no mirrors at all! Next time you change lanes, put your indicator on, close your eyes and pray, because that's what he was doing. I like the guy and enjoy his videos, but I can still acknowledge, as I'm sure he can, when I see something avoidably dumb and dangerous.

Couple of suggestions... 1) old rubber conveyor belt works great for the snowcat tracks to keep the tracks from damaging anything, wrap two lengths around some pipe the is wide enough to lift with a forklift or place a strap through and move with one of you tow machines. 2) If your lowboy tractor has and air lift for raising the connection, place a block under the trailer up front to keep it out of the dirt... thanks for all you do for everyone!

As a retired Heavy Equipment Truck Driver and Operator of Heavy Equipment like this. I can there are simple ways to help line you up when re-attaching the neck of the trailer. There's Magnetic alignment arm that you can slap on the neck that you line up with a painted mark on the deck of the trailer that makes things a lot easier to line up on it. Thats what I used the last 4 yrs before I retired. Because I went from being a Owner Operator and only un hooking maybe 3 or 4 times a week (Sometimes not at all) to working local (Home every night) to unhooking some times a dozen times a day, when hauling asphalt Equipment. And it was ALWAYS right out in the MIDDLE OF THE DAM STREET. With NO one around to help keep traffic off your ass.

I pull an RGN daily. There’s a little tip I use to line up the gooseneck every time perfectly by myself. Make sure that when you disconnect you are perfectly straight with the truck and trailer. Look in your mirror sitting normally in your driving position at where your drive tires lineup on the trailer frame edge when you disconnect. So that when you put it back together, make sure you are straight with the trailer and your drive. Tires are exactly where they were against the trailer edge and you should be lined up perfectly. Hope it helps.

Before my parents got divorced my dad use to be and still is as far as I'm aware a heavy wrecker tow truck driver. For as long as I can remember since I was little he always drove the semi trucks whether it was long haul or the crane trucks for sheet rock companies and now heavy wrecker. He was good at it even got to use the company rotator and there was times he'd bring me on some calls and he taught me how to operate the controls of a wrecker. Communication for those is key especially when he's under there pulling out the driveline on a broke down tractor trailer but it was some cool and fun father son time during that time frame of my life. Thought I'd share cause this video reminded me of him.

I totally agree about how beautiful Utah is. I live in Wisconsin and last year was the first time I visited Utah. Been back 4 times since then. Moab, the Arches, Bryce Canyon and my favorite place is Zion. Definitely a beautiful state!

I grew up in trucking and been around semis my whole life. I have never felt amazement about what has always been my life. I didn't understand my wife's amazement watching me throw a 70' truck around like it was a Fiat 500. I she finally explained it to me. Before we got together, the closest she got to trucking was dating a guy that fueled planes at the airport. She, as most people do, see semis as gigantic unyielding things, where I see this as just another vehicle that I will put exactly where I want it to be.

It's a massive responsibility to safely move such large objects around especially on a public road filled with other people, some of them are knuckleheads. But Dave and his top notch crew take this job seriously. I hope to see more of these "A Day In My Life" productions, it's so very entertaining...Thank You!

    Just can't do it alone.
A good team keeps the wheels rolling.
Safety first then the fun begins.
And kudos to those behind the scenes as well.
Without them the story would never be known.
I know all this from personal experience!
Thanks again for sharing another good one. -Bman
