Thanks Stephen , I can remember playing on my mothers pot and pans in the kitchen when I was very young . I am 63 now gave it away for about twenty years but found I really missed it . I knew I was a drummer, when I began playing drums @ 17 yrs old professionally. My first gig, was from 5:00 pm 1:30 am, five nights a week & 7 pm to 12 am on Sunday nights. It was a sink or swim situation, I didn't sink.
When can you call yourself a drummer when you can feed yourself and your significant other with the money you earn from playing your drums in your style❤ JW Miller Denton Texas
I know many drummers that can't feed their family off of their playing, or don't want to. This is not the definition of a Drummer. Do you play the drums? You're a drummer.

I made a living from 1962 through 1970 and I was guaranteed $100 to do a four-set show! Jwm.
