bimongolhunshd he really can... But, unfortunately the audio for this sounds very pre-recorded. Notice how the 'vocal' track gets lowered when he forgets to approach the mic (yet, you can still hear him singing?) And why do I get the feeling like the producer added 'feedback' to sell the "live" guitar playing. It sounds like he's trying to compensate for the vocal's being faked... The drumming is legit, but the guitar and vocals are pre-recorded on separate tracks ...Id bet money on it.
@@supernintendochalmers6628I guarantee nothing here is pre-recorded. Not only is that not at all how they play, but Pat couldn't keep that kind of fixed tempo while playing live to save his life 😂😂
I saw them at their first live show in France, back in 2004: very small room, perhaps 40 (forty!) people in the audience, I was literally standing 1m in front on them (noobdy in France knew who they were back then...).... Saw them again this week in Paris, with a 3,000 people audience : still an excellent concert, but not the same feeling... I would give my left nut to relive again that mind-blowing show in 2004, just once ;-)
THIS intro. BEST version of the 2nd most covered song in English language, behind Amazing Grace. Added to the story. Stack Lee is such a great tale, and BK owns this.
Saw them open for Radiohead for two dates in 2006, been a fan ever since even as they got more bucks for production. Blues riffs never get old no matter how produced it is.
Taught a lesson in African American folklore and post Civil War US history using this. Had students use basic elements of characters, objects (hat, gun), and result (Stack kills him but escapes justice), and politics (Dems and Reps). They loved it. And they got it. Fascinating piece of culture, and BK owned it.
I saw so many of their early tours when all he played was the same old Tele - now, he's got some cash, and he's got a supremely nice collection, and who could blame him
@87CsBruno Thanks! Glad you liked the footage. Yeah, I had a press pass to photograph my friends the Ryan Montbleau Band, who played right before the Keys so I figured I'd stick around and get some of these guys as well since I'm a fan.
It's a modified Harmony Stratotone. I know. I want one too. Premier Guitar has a video up of his tech going through his rig. Definitely worth checking out!
GUYS my comment was a JOKE. I've been listening to the keys since 2002. Sure I sort of miss the good ol' days when there were fewer people in the crowds, but I am VERY proud of their success.
and it's a funny connection too, cause in Tarantino's movie Death Proof, there's a song called Staggolee which is about the very same two people from history
open g tuning, so the high e is tuned a whole step down and the b is normal. he's fingerpicking the high e and the b strings together. the high e is always played open, and you're moving up and down on the b string. from there it's just figuring out the parts by ear. mostly just whole and half steps here's the first phrase the 0-0-0-0-0---0-0-0---- 1/3-3/6-6---6/8/10--
Don't know why this comment got so many negative views. i'm kinda with this guy. The Black Keys where way better before there over produced shitty pop albums of today. makes me sick. I'm not cool for finding them matter a fact my dad showed them to me cause he loves the blues, but a sad day came upon the world and now dan auerbach sold out and plays pop and not the heavy blues riffs. i'm gonna go cry now.
went to their concert last week. it's so much better to listen to the music like this, without hysterical teenage girls yelling at every beginning of song.
As a multi-instrumentalist, I agree with you. Guitar involves the coordination of two limbs while drumming involves the coordination of all four. When I started drumming I had serious issues with limb separation (for you guitarists, that is drummer talk for using all limbs doing different tasks simultaneously) Plus, EVERYONE knows when you mess up drumming. With guitar, mistakes can be written off as "improvisation". Why else is there such a shortage of drummers yet an abundance of guitarists?
such an underrated track
One of their best, and this version is evil.
The entire Rubber Factory album is totally underrated, definitely my favorite
absolutely. before delta kream this was #1
Patricks facial expression when he drums is priceless. He is really jamming. And dont get me started on how amazing Dan is. This man can sing and play
bimongolhunshd he really can... But, unfortunately the audio for this sounds very pre-recorded. @@supernintendochalmers6628 paranoid much? Lol Looked legit to me
@@znmcg haha! you're probably right. the Black Keys are no joke when it comes to performing.
@@supernintendochalmers6628I guarantee nothing here is pre-recorded. Not only is that not at all how they play, but Pat couldn't keep that kind of fixed tempo while playing live to save his life 😂😂
this is by far the best audio i 've heard in a unprofessional one camera live concert recording, steady hands too... nice job man
Damn, i miss the old black keys 😥
If i was this close to The Black Keys...my head would explode from the pure talent exuding from the stage.

Tinny sound, grey overcast, banging performance: Seems to me like Jimi Hendrix performing Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock.
Harmony Stratotone H47.
My god... Epic !
Raúl Rodríguez His H78 is pretty badass, too.
Howlin wolf's guitar right?
I like Black Keys. They're old school. Rock, real talent.
Phenomenal song, thanks for the upload!
This chord melody throughout this song is just unbelieveable
Dude the whole song is just G pentatonic.
This is one of the best Black Keys videos, in the whole of youtube. It really captures the feel of the keys, and the shots of patrick is just amazing
This has seriously got to be the best performance of Dan’s I’ve ever seen.
THIS intro. BEST version of the 2nd most covered song in English language, behind Amazing Grace. Added to the story. Stack Lee is such a great tale, and BK owns this.
This was shot with a Canon 7D. thanks for watching!
I agree totally, what an awesome track!!!
This is my favorite Keys song, my favorite performance of it and my favorite live Keys video. I am so jealous of how close you were--great job.
Saw them open for Radiohead for two dates in 2006, been a fan ever since even as they got more bucks for production. Blues riffs never get old no matter how produced it is.
Sorry sir, that opinion was long ago. I now have still been going to black keys concerts and am still a massive supporter of them!
local Akron boys, all grown up and tearing sh*t up. I love this performance one of their better live songs in my opinion
Sill what an awesome number, brilliant!!
Feeling "just a little heat" at 3:07 :D

this is great footage. these dudes ooze it. killer stuff.

Holy Shit... Only realized towards the end this wasnt pro-shot!
Nice job!
Wow, great footage man. Keep up the good work! This really captures the feelings of a Black Keys concert, like the man said ^.
those gray clouds on the back and that music.. just fucking epic :D
Dans got some mad chops i never really paid attention until i started playing he's damn good.
@isabellasl His guitar is a Harmony Stratotone H-47 Mercury modded with Lindy Fralin P90s and a Bigsby.
Oh and i loove the dark clouds in the background. Very Bluesy
@87CsBruno

@87Csbruno it's a 1950's harmony stratotone that he's added 2 p90s to and a bigsby.
LOVE ❤
Thanks everyone for all the comments. I've added links to a few more clips and a photo gallery from the show above. please check them out!

@xSkyMachinex
It was shot with a Canon 7D and a 28-135mm lens. Thanks for watching!
How is it I only recently heard of these guys?
Imagine the Black Keys and Billy Gibbons playin' the blues. That would be awesome.
It happened lol

I saw them live this sunday in México City. They didn't play this one =/ Still awesome though
Pure fucking fire

Dan's technical ability has never been in doubt in my mind.
Excelent video quality... for seconds i thought it was recorded from tv or something..
Wow, you're right...
yes soul has a life
@dfelixpt Yeah indeed. Actually I'm wondering how the sound could be of such a quality. Usually it's too loud for a camera.
