Something a little different - I've wanted that Red Shadow Officer for ages, and as the painted version wasn't available, thought it would be cool to have a go. Yeah, follow Matt, his stuff is amazing quality 👍
Dave, I gotta say it, like I do every time, I just love your filming, editing and production style. So entertaining to watch. Now the figure? WOW! You have WAY more patience and delicate hand control than I ever will. I literally have no idea what this figure is, as I only heard of this line of figures in the recent year or so from you other collectors and I am fascinated! Such a great job you did on this and the outcome is spectacular. Great to have another of your restoration / customization videos to check out. Thanks for the great kook at a great custom job! Kudos, my friend!
Thanks Paul for picking up on the editing and production. Every now and then I like to learn some new editing techniques and this video was sprinkled with them 😎 Love how you have no idea what this figure is - we will have you hooked soon enough 🤣 but you still watch. I don't do this kind of project all that often so am very pleased with the result. Matt who created this custom has done an amazing job!! 👍
Ha, good joke, it's all in the delivery 🤣 The satin finish has knocked the red back a little, but next time will use a slightly modified mix. But sits nicely with the vintage anyway!!
Wow! What a cool custom job Dave. You painted that up very nicely. Scubas gonna love it! How do the magnets hold up on that figure? What a great idea that was to use the magnets
Great paint work on this small scaled figure and pieces. Nice work! That's cool the kit includes the decals too. I always wonder how some of the manufactured mass produced figures get the eyes so detailed on such a tiny scale. Sometimes I think it's machines painting them, and other times people with magnifying glasses. Thanks for the video!
Cheers! Yeah, the inclusion of decals is a nice touch. I wonder too how they applied paint in factories, especially in the 70s/80s - I can only assume it was done by hand 👍
Very nice work, Dave. I could never manage detail work like this. A lovely thing to do for Scuba as well, you're such a gent. Really appreciate how well this was shot and edited. The reveal of the German stormtrooper was well done and caused me to utter "what are you, Paul Daniels?" 😅 Thanks for sharing this with us sir 👍👍
You'll like this... not a lot, but you'll like it! 🤣 Every now and then, I like to learn some new editing techniques and this video has had a few thrown at it!! As for the detail work, having some magnifying glasses really helps 😎 Thanks for watching Dave!! 👍
Matt makes the best customs. I was lucky to get a few of his reproduction parts to complete my Action Force Z Force APC. These parts are very rare on this side of the pond.
Yeah, the pieces I've bought from Matt have been very high quality. Would love to find an APC - I think some of those parts are hard to find either side of the pond 👍
@VintageToyRush 100% I have been hunting international figures and vehicles ever since I completed my ARAH run. Palitoy Action Force has been my favorite. There are a lot of gems. The Z Force APC & Roboskull are two of my European grails.
@@ArtistAnnex I have a thing for the Enemy Team and have been lucky enough to acquire a Roboskull. Also, there's the kickstarter for the Roboskull MK II - have you seen that or backed it ?
@VintageToyRush Me too! I have seen it and was able to back the Kickstarter. I can't wait for it to ship. I received the 3 3/4" oring Red Wolf figure, and it is pretty awesome!
@@VintageToyRush lol it reminds me of my trade, I am a qualified chef, but I called myself a fitter & turner as I would fit it into a pan & turn it to shit!🤣🤣
It was an easy way to articulate. I could have peg holes / pegs etc but then id need to print the torso in two halves and id introduce other issues. Plus the limbs will, like palitoy toys, have a risk of going "floppy".
It's a common technique in 3D printing as it simplifies the print. No need for complex joints 👍 But it's not new, lines like Micronauts were using back in the 70s.
I've subscribed to your channel and promoted you on my livestream. I noticed you haven't done a livestream in awhile. Would you be interested in coming on my livestream show?
Bob Brechin is a hidden gem genius in the annals of toy history.
Absolutely! Wonder how many more unreleased prototypes there are! 😎
Awesome paint job Dave.. I’m going to get one of those for my collection.. Thanks for sharing.. 👍😎👍
Thanks Nick! Yeah, definitely worth getting one - the quality of the 3D print is outstanding 👍
Thanks so much for showing off my figure so well and for sharing my insta / ebay etc. Very nice paint job on this :-)
No problem at all Matt. I think your creations are of incredible quality and have had fun painting this Officer 👍
Ooooo wasn’t expecting this Dave, bit of customising!!! What a job you’ve done!!! bravo sir, right I’m off to give them a follow 👍

Such a great custom paint job. It's all in the details and you Sir ar a master at that. A great gift for a good friend too. Awesome
Cheers Chris!! 👍 Yep, it's always in the details 😎
Awesome job with the paint and transfers Dave, I wouldn't be able to pick it from the vintage original figures!
Cheers Scott! 👍 That's what I love about this custom - you can just imagine buying this on card with a couple of Red Shadows 😎

Cheers Shabby! The magnets work really well. Matt has done amazing job producing these figures, you cannot tell they're 3D printed!! 👍
Lovely work VTR Dave, looks fantastic, Scuba will be very happy I'm sure
Thanks Dez! Turned out better than expected 😎
I'm so upset we never got the Action Force line here. After watching Tony's retrospective, I saw what a great line it was!
Certainly has some of that British quirkiness baked into its design!! For me, the Red Shadows make it 👍

Don't have too many customs in the collection but thought this was too good to skip 👍

I personally believe that that you put the eyes transfer too low , but to each his own, good job.
I don't disagree with you! There's not much room to work with, but hey there's still another figure to paint 👍
