The more Nightwish, the better! I've seen so many reactions to their songs and yours definitely stand out, you seem like such a lovely and knowledgeable person!
For the next song I would recommend the Greatest Show on Earth live at Tampere 2015! It's really an epic song and you will see more of the current members of the band (multi-instrumentalist Troy and the drummer Kai who replaced the previous drummer Jukka). That song also has a lot of Marco's vocals, but also showcases Floor's unbelievable singing skills.
Always love that 3 octave glissando that Floor does in tandem with Marko. The studio version, from the Tarja era, only has his 2 octave slide. Yes, it's heavy, one of their heavier songs, and one of the few that Emppu really shreds on. He ,and every band member, play what the song needs , and aren't out there to show off. Yep, Marko can sing too. He sings backing and co-lead on a lot of songs, and lead vocals on a few, including The Islander and their cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes. Unfortunately , he left the band in 2021. He was lead singer of a band called Tarot before joining Nightwish. We know Floor can flip, but it's still impressive. And no, the D is not the top of her range, it's listed as C3-F6.
Marco is a phenomenal vocalist in his own right and a fantastic harmonist. Always listen for his harmonies - often a highlight of a song for me. Marco solo: High Hopes from Hartwall Arena While Your Lips Are Still Red from Wembley The Islander from Tampere With Floor: Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires Ghost River from Wacken Song of Myself from Wacken Slaying the Dreamer from Buenos Aires Yours is an Empty Hope from Wembley 7 Days to the Wolves from I'll stop there... lots more too
Yesssssss! You got this! Any pause is automatically forgiven if you just go back 5sec. We just want to see you see the flow of the song! I'm so excited for a new Nightwish Army member!
I love Floor and Nightwish, so I listen to them all the time . So I enjoy your breakdown of their performance. “Devil in the Deep Dark Ocean “ has a really good duet with Marco and Floor . Enjoying your reactions ! Nightwish army Texas 👍🤠
I love your reaction video's. You're insightful and obviously know what you're talking about. The way how fast you catch rhythms and notes you just heard on your keyboard attest to that.
Dear sweet Nina, I never expected you to dive in real metal. It's nice to see you enjoying this Nightwish band with the instrumentals, lyrics and vocals. And yes, it's sometimes INTENS and always with quality, but you will be surprised with every new reaction. I promise you
Really enjoyed your reaction and analysis. In fact I have enjoyed all 3 of your Nightwish reactions so far. Whichever Nightwish song you decide to do next will be different to all the others but still just as amazing. Subscribed. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️
I will tell you a secret only a true Nightwish fan knows. Their songs are great, yes. Composition, singing, performance all of it is great. But what makes Nightwish songs realy stand out, what makes them outstanding, is the lyrics and the meaning behind them. This was true on all of their previous albums, but is elevated to new heights on their last album.
Don't stop what you're doing, you break down what's going on musically better than anyone I've seen the last 4 years and look absolutely gorgeous while doing it
The world of Nightwish reactors is itself fascinating. There are vocal coaches, composers, and even genuine opera singers that are hooked on this band.
I like your style of stopping when you have something to say and even going back if you want to:) It is your style, it suits you, and some people like me do enjoy the reactions that are done this way. I still recommend How's the Heart, acoustic version, I think you will enjoy that one as a vocal coach. But then, there are other great recommendations in the comments you will also enjoy, so enjoy the journey!
That guy on drums is Jukka Nevalainen. Great drummer! He had to step back from the kit due to severe insomnia but he still works with Nightwish. The current drummer, Kai Hahto, was Jukka's tech at times and recommended by Jukka. Yes, Marko on bass has an amazing voice -see "High Hopes" - the Nightwish tribute to Pink Floyd. Yes, Emppu on guitar loves his whammy bar! 9:56 - 10:06 Floor-raid siren! Your reaction style is great! I like that someone shows me (and others) that I was right AND you point out things I missed or never thought about! Thank you! edit - Tuomas (keyboards, backing track controller, composer, arranger etc..... GENIUS) has called himself the Poet, the Dead Boy and the Dead Poet in his poetic lyrics - it is/was a recurring theme.
Next?Storytime from the same Wacken gig..Lots of references to Alice in Wonderland,Peter Pan etc,it’s a lighter vibe but still packed with energy and it’s a stellar performance
Of your would like to hear more of Marko singing I recommend the islander Live from Tampere. He also songs a little in the greatest show on earth (a 21 minute masterpiece) also from Tampere
Hello Nina! I have to laugh everytime i see your "shocked" face when you hear something in the music you didn't expect, I love that haha. Tuomas, the founder and keyboardplayer, writes most of Nightwish's music and lyrics. He likes poetry and puts that in his songs. A great example is "Song of Myself" (also from the Wacken 2013 concert). His inspiration was the poem with the same name by Walt Whitman. But actually all his songs are beautiful poems. As for the drumming...You may not have noticed it but you have seen the 2 drummers of NW. In Ghost Love Score and Romanticide is was Jukka Nevelainen who was with NW from the very beginning. An amazingly good and showy one but a very humble person and loved by all of us. Sadly he had to step back in 2014 due to severe insomnia. He is still involved with NW in the management department. He asked his good friend Kai Hahto from the Finnish band Wintersun to replace him. In 2019 Kai became a full NW member. Kai is a very humble man and a phenomenal drummer. His nickname is "The Beast" or "The Human Metronome" (I prefer the last haha). If you want to see him go crazy please watch "Sons of Winter and Stars" by Wintersun, Live Rehearsels at Sonic Pump Studios.
Dont worry about pauses. It is your reaction and channel:). This is Nightwish heavier side. Continue this Wacken or check out their this summer summer festival performance, example Shoemaker(Hellfest) or Planet Hell(Hellfest) or something fron last week Deichbrand Festival(same set list than Hellfest)
I really enjoyed this reaction. I was very impressed with the way that you acknowledged the concerns from some people towards your Ghost Love Score reaction, and adapted your technique this time to accommodate them. I thought it showed great maturity and generosity of spirit. MUCH RESPECT TO YOU! I find that you do have some great observations that are worth listening to. I have subscribed to follow your Nightwish journey with you.
Hi Nina, the great thing about Floor, that keeps amazing... is her combination of on the one hand great technique that enables her to switch register and texture on the dime, and on the other hand her personality that enables her to really feel the emotion of the song and its story. The combination of those ingredients make her really a muscial storyteller like no other (that I know of...) and she does it time and time again: in the many Nightwish songs, but also in her own solo shows and material and with her earlier bands, such as After Forever and Revamp (allthough there is definite growth through time, as is to be expected). PS. A great one also from this concert, that really is poetry put to music (a poem by Walt Witman) is "Song of Myself"
I think I recommended Nightwish to you about a year ago. Glad you finally made it 👍 Maybe try an acoustic song and really hear Floor? I recommend ' How's the heart ' live at Planet Rock. You will be amazed! Then just more Nightwish 😃
Dont worry if you pause it, i like the analytical aspect of reactions and how people can disect and study this songs that i love, im no musician at all but i love music and whatching people talking with so much knowledge is a treat!

Absolutely keep ding what you're doing as you yourself feel that it makes you enjoy it. One can't please everyone, so might as well do what also pleases you. So keep at it, you're doing great! :D
Nice reaction. Keep doing them in your own way. Pause as much as you wish. This is one of their heavier songs, and one they didn’t perform all that often, but is one of the favorites from this show. Marko does indeed have a great voice as you will learn as you continue your journey. Tuomas’s lyrics are definitely poetry. Every song from this show is incredible! “I think it’s time for a little story. It’s definitely… Storytime!”
Everyone comes to hear Floor then gets blown away by Marco. 😆 There is so much to love about Nightwish but the first time one hears Marco is always a great moment. I'm sure you have got tons of suggestion already but I'll go ahead and throw in a vote for my personal favorite Storytime, specifically the live Wacken performance from this same show. If you want to focus in on Marco at some point check out The Islander live at Tampere.
Nina, you make every song hugely fun, your personality is sparkling. Don't EVER change that. I absolutely love how you break things down, and that's what I tune in to see. It's also fun when you instantly play the lines that Tuomas is playing. So Cool! I've heard these Nightwish songs hundreds of times, maybe thousands. I'm here for you! Love how Jukka beats those cymbals at the end as though he caught them in bed with his wife. He actually stands to provide those powerful hits! Keep it up, their catalog is extensive and every song is unique!
Hi Nina, new subscriber as you started your Nightwish journey. Love your style and glad to have discovered your channel. Ex-pat Englander myself now living in California. The Nightwish Army will be along for the journey. So much to discover. Keep up the great work.
Love your reaction. I went a bit backwards here as I missed this, so I'll let all the Marco recommendations to that video. But you were talking about Jukka the drummer. You should check out "song of myself" also from Wacken 2013. It has a bit more video time of him being the beast that he is. And it is just an alround incredible piece of music.
Awesome reaction! And yes, their lyrics really are poetry ☺ I highly recommend doing Everdream live at Wacken 2013 next, followed by While Your Lips Are Still Red live at Wembley. Floor and Marko both take turns shining in these, and the compositions are amazing ☺☺☺
This song is perfect for reactors because it's always near at the top after Ghost Love Score and it's like silent message from the Nightwish Army to the reactors "if you think every song is that beautiful fairytale-like thing, you are very mistaken". When story calls for it, it'll be dirty and intense. Some of their songs have these thunderous endings, which are totally unmatched in a music world. When you experience these live it feels like the whole effin venue will explode.
Great reactions Nina. Amazing to see the rollercoaster of emotions you’re experiencing watching these performances for the first time. I stumbled upon Nightwish about 6 months ago and can’t believe I didn’t discover them earlier. Such a great songwriter, amazing musicians and an outstanding vocalist. The perfect lineup at this point.
Beautiful reaction, thank you! I am a bit surprised no one mentioned the song Endlessness. Marko sounds so epic yet calm and soft in it. He has an incredible voice, I wish they had more songs like Endlessness that showcased that unique side of his vocal range.
I don't mind u stopping all the time Nina, not at all. Your reactions are awesome and I learn from u always. Keep being who u are, love it! I too love that drummer...been one all my life and have the double kicker single bass...can't do without it anymore...ha ha.
If you are going to keep listening to Nightwish, the song "The Poet and the Pendulum" is one that I would recommend reading up on before a bit. The song stands on it's own if you go in blind, but it is about the fallout around the departure of the first singer so it has a lot of emotion/depth. Reading up on It was how a friend suggested I experience the song, and I am glad he did. As other's have said the Phantom of the Opera with Tarja and Marco is fantastic.
Welcome to Nightwish!!! You can't really predict what they are going to do! Tuomas ( he does most of the writing and composing ) has many sides to discover in his music! "Storytime" is a true journey and one of my top 3 favorite songs of Nightwish. "Ever Dream" and "Elan" are also among my top favorites! You also need to listen to Floors two solo songs, "Fire" and "Storm".... both are amazing! For ballads, you already listened to " Sleeping Sun"....and you can go back to the first lead vocalist ( Tarja ) and check out "Walking in the Air" and back to Floor with "Dead Boy's Poem" What I can tell you is I discovered Nightwish in January of 2019. I haven't listened to a single song of theirs that is just...not so great...one I won't listen to again. I really enjoy your reactions...keep up the great work!
I'm so glad you are still on this journey. I'm glad you appreciate the music, the lyrics, and now you're learning that, yes, Marco can sing too. Don't worry, you are more than welcome to pause as you need to. I don't know why, but many people object to that, I'll never understand, but yes, do pause to share your analysis - which I (and many others) enjoy hearing too.
I've somehow missed you GLS reaction, but I'll definitely go back and watch it. You totally get it. Tuomas often calls himself a poet in his songs. Also, no worries about the pausing, we've heard the songs a million times anyway 😁They're just worried that you'll miss a transition, and from what I've seen, you don't miss much. Welcome to the rabbit hole, you have another sub. Much love from the Nightwish army in New York!

Awesome awesome fact that you read the lyrics of Nightwish songs. They are really the mind and sould of Tuomas the poet and composer. The one video you must pay attention to get the whole lyrical pictire oit of is "Song of myself" live at Wachen 2013 but the extended version... it's dedicated to one of Nightwish's most loyal fans Anne Waychoff who passed away during coronavirus pandemic. Please just make sure you react to the extended verion of this song because at Wachen, bwing live atmosphere, they did the short version. Love your reactions and your NW journey. Hugs from Romania girl!!!
If you like "intense", "rock" and "epic opera" mixed together, try "Epica - Sancta Terra (feat Floor Jansen) Live Retrospect show" (life from 2013). 🙂 Epica is another great epic metal band, and Floor is a good friend of that group and joined them for their 10 year aniversary back in 2013. Be warned: you mind and ears will be blasted. :-)
Hey Nina, we all watched all original Nightwish videos at least 500 times and heard all the songs more often, so we know every part of the songs very well. I can't produce any music, I can't sing, i can't play any instrument, I can't even clap in rhythm, but I want to know what a professional musician hears from the music I love. I love it, when I see, how a professional musician fell in love to the music I love, but on very high analysis level. For me, its very satisfying, that my simple-minded taste of music touches even professional musicians. Thats the reason why I watch your reactions. So from my point of view you should pause more and explain everything you hear in the most possible detail. And even it takes hours, I'm sure people will watch these explainations.
Like an honest ..but especially skillful reaction ... but it's simple.. never boring real talent band whit a cherry on top FLOOR .. just enjoy and be a fan ... greetings from Amsterdam
I have to say that you will not be prepared for what you hear in Yours Is An Empty Hope. Though if you are at all sensitive to strobe light effects, you will want to be careful on what video you watch for that song. The Live in Mexico City version is probably the best in terms of the strobe light effect (it happens near the beginning as the song gets going after Floor welcomes everyone). Also, welcome to the Nightwish family, and I hope you fully enjoy your journey through their music! Tuomas, the keyboardist, is a musical genius. The Poet and the Pendulum will tug at your heart strings. The Greatest Show On Earth is simply an amazing piece of music. It is also their longest song to date, clocking in at about 24 minutes! But considering it tells the story of the universe and our evolution here on Earth from the Big Bang to present day, it is to be expected to be a giant song.
Wow this Nightwish journey is intense! Every song offers something different but I feel like I’m getting to know them a bit better now ☺️ What should be next?

Marco solo:
High Hopes from Hartwall Arena
While Your Lips Are Still Red from Wembley
The Islander from Tampere
With Floor:
Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires
Ghost River from Wacken
Song of Myself from Wacken
Slaying the Dreamer from Buenos Aires
Yours is an Empty Hope from Wembley
7 Days to the Wolves from
I'll stop there... lots more too
I too am on a Nightwish journey Nina. Why have I never heard of them before ?? They are sensational !!
It's time to react to Ever Dream!!!
Next song I would like to see is Nightwish - Storytime from this Wacken 2013 consert.
Yesssssss! You got this! Any pause is automatically forgiven if you just go back 5sec. We just want to see you see the flow of the song! I'm so excited for a new Nightwish Army member!
Hi, Nina- This was a great way to start the day. Thanks!
You’re welcome Craig! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I love Floor and Nightwish, so I listen to them all the time . So I enjoy your breakdown of their performance. “Devil in the Deep Dark Ocean “ has a really good duet with Marco and Floor . Enjoying your reactions ! Nightwish army Texas 👍🤠
Love your reactions....keep doing that!
Thanks so much Brian!
we are here...we are everywhere ...nightwish army 🤟
I will tell you a secret only a true Nightwish fan knows.
Their songs are great, yes. Composition, singing, performance all of it is great. But what makes Nightwish songs realy stand out, what makes them outstanding, is the lyrics and the meaning behind them.
This was true on all of their previous albums, but is elevated to new heights on their last album.
Lovely Nina, you do you, feel free to pause whenever you feel like doing so.
Great analysis and entertaining reaction 😊💖
You do the reactions your way. Please continue with that. :)
You don't get used to it, you appreciate it/
Don't stop what you're doing, you break down what's going on musically better than anyone I've seen the last 4 years and look absolutely gorgeous while doing it
The world of Nightwish reactors is itself fascinating. There are vocal coaches, composers, and even genuine opera singers that are hooked on this band.
STORYTIME, same concert, Floor tells us a story. You will love it, she blows you away at the same time.
Thank you, really lovely to hear you enjoy my style of reactions! I can’t wait to see what’s next ☺️
I concur
Perfect reaction! Thank you! - Nightwish Army
another great group is called Imperial age-some of their songs is Golden Shakles and their long intense Call of the towers...great reaction again...
Next?Storytime from the same Wacken gig..Lots of references to Alice in Wonderland,Peter Pan etc,it’s a lighter vibe but still packed with energy and it’s a stellar performance
THIS.
If you like the vocal play between Floor and Marco, check out the live version of Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean.
Marko (the bassist) and Floor are both actually musically trained :) I am from Finland and I just LOVE this band!
Glad you finally made it 👍
Maybe try an acoustic song and really hear Floor? I recommend ' How's the heart ' live at Planet Rock. You will be amazed! Then just more Nightwish 😃
I concur! Acoustic version of How's the Heart is so beautiful and shows another side of Floor's voice.
Dont worry if you pause it, i like the analytical aspect of reactions and how people can disect and study this songs that i love, im no musician at all but i love music and whatching people talking with so much knowledge is a treat!
Love your reactions 😊 For sure you would love Everdream from the same concert. Marco has some singing in that as well. Cheers!
14:19 doppel bass .. 2 drums not 2 paddel legends say when a new machine gun is built, the manufacturers seek out jukka and adjust the rate of fire. his double base counts :) but don't worry that was warming up
Greetings from Germany: Nightwish Division
I was blown away by the slide up from the bottom with Floor and Marco, he stops and Floor still going up for it seems like another full octave. WOW
Absolutely keep ding what you're doing as you yourself feel that it makes you enjoy it. One can't please everyone, so might as well do what also pleases you. So keep at it, you're doing great! :D
Thank you! I’ll keep going ☺️
That's the reason I watch the videos. Please don't let them change your way of doing things.
Your analitic style is great. Without this, everyone can go and listen just the song! Thumbs up, on both hands. :) ❤
Hello, once again! Love your videos, love Nightwish, love all this!
I would suggest Everdream from Wacken 2013
Commentary is why we watch you. If anyone doesn’t like the breaks they should listen to the original.
Fun fact: Marco started his career as lead singer in a metal band 1982. Floor was born 1981.
Yes, he can sing 🙂.
Every song is different and you’ll be completely blown away by the diversity of their music.
Stop and comment all you like ... that's why we're here!
The changes - Tuomas writes his songs in movements - hence the genre, symphonic metal.
True that Marko has a great voice ( 1st place, Masked Singer, Finland!). Unfortunately he left NW at the beginning of 2021.
Who could possibly sit still with this unbelievable performance. All members of this band are truly talented
Beautiful reaction, thank you!
I am a bit surprised no one mentioned the song Endlessness. Marko sounds so epic yet calm and soft in it. He has an incredible voice, I wish they had more songs like Endlessness that showcased that unique side of his vocal range.
Love your style of reacting. You'll be hard pressed not to find a Nightwish song that you like. Brilliant band.
For ballads, you already listened to " Sleeping Sun"....and you can go back to the first lead vocalist ( Tarja ) and check out "Walking in the Air" and back to Floor with "Dead Boy's Poem"
What I can tell you is I discovered Nightwish in January of 2019. I haven't listened to a single song of theirs that is just...not so great...one I won't listen to again.
I really enjoy your reactions...keep up the great work!
Cheers! Thank you for your thoughtful reaction.
I think you would like Ever Dream and Storytime, if you want very emotional, then it would be Dead boys Poem (Buenos Aires show).
Marko (bass player) won masked singer Finland You should check those performance out
After watching you for the second time (I am late to the party), I am really enjoying your reactions to Nightwish. I have subscribed. Great job!
As I said before: who ever doesn't like how you do your reactions can just avoid watching 🤘😎
🙏🏻🙏🏻
I've somehow missed you GLS reaction, but I'll definitely go back and watch it. You totally get it. Tuomas often calls himself a poet in his songs. Also, no worries about the pausing, we've heard the songs a million times anyway 😁They're just worried that you'll miss a transition, and from what I've seen, you don't miss much. Welcome to the rabbit hole, you have another sub. Much love from the Nightwish army in New York!
Thank you Nina from Germany. This war 2013 in Wacken near Hamburg W:O:A= Wacken Open Air. Best Nigtwish-Show with Floor Jansen all time. And 2022 is W:O:A (04.-06.August) total sold out with 80.000 Metalfans.
Please Sir. May I have some more Nightwish reactions from the wonderful Nina Schofield.
well if you want more ‘raspiness’ from floor, try ‘yours is an empty hope’ from Wembley 🙃 also: great reaction, thanks!
Epica is another great epic metal band, and Floor is a good friend of that group and joined them for their 10 year aniversary back in 2013.
Be warned: you mind and ears will be blasted. :-)
Your reaction style is top notch. Most of us have heard this song before after all. This is your reaction.
I can't wait for you to react to Ever Dream ( the same concert Wacken 2013). Your reactions are so cool 💕
Great reaction Nina, and we love your stopping and starting. You have to for copyright we understand. love you girl💯❣
Like an honest ..but especially skillful reaction ... but it's simple.. never boring real talent band whit a cherry on top FLOOR .. just enjoy and be a fan ... greetings from Amsterdam
Love your reactions don’t change. A good Nightwish song next would be She’s my sin.
Yeah- we still go "wow". She's just that good! 🙂
More night wish please. Maybe start with the greatest show on earth or story time thanks
