- Monaco’s famous Grand Prix circuit is the site for a first look at a new concept car driven by Renault Sport Formula One Team’s Kevin Magnussen today. By choosing Monaco, Renault Sport makes the link between Clio R.S. 16’ both around circuits and on ordinary roads.
“Our aim was to produce a concept car with genuinely outstanding performance credentials,” notes Patrice Ratti, Managing Director of Renault Sport Cars, leader of the project which particularly inspired the development team’s specialists. “On paper, producing a Clio R.S. powered by our most potent engine - namely the 275 horsepower 2.0 power unit which delivers peak torque of 360Nm - was an extremely appealing idea, but we had to make sure it was feasible.”
Thanks to new working procedures involving teams from the worlds of motorsport and road cars, the incubation of the highest-performance road-going Renault Sport car ever took just five months.
Finding the ideal way to house the engine, transmission and cooling system of the Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R was a significant challenge. The exhaust system was also revised as a function of the engine’s potential, while the suspension was engineered to match the car’s outstanding performance characteristics. Careful attention was paid to the sound produced by the car, too, and an Akrapovič twin exhaust system was selected.

Un concept...un CONCEPT!!!! Arrêtez de "partager" votre passion via des concepts!!!! Vous n'allez quand même pas vous mettre à faire comme Peugeot à nous faire baver avec des concepts, genre: "regardez ce qu'on sait faire!!! C'est super hein?! Bah vous ne l'aurez JAMAIS!!!" Franchement, il y en a marre!!
En tant que fan et proprio Renault Sport (entre autres marques hein, pas d'intégrisme chez moi), je ne peux rajouter qu'un logique +1 ! Et tant qu'il y aura cet enf***ré de Ghosn qui décide, ça ne changera pas, au contraire cela va s'empirer pour Renault et Renault Sport...
Allons...Ghosn a juste sabote toutes les tentative de lancement de la nouvelle Alpine, vire Carlos Tavarez, tue Gordini une fois de plus et embauche la baltringue de Mazda au design... A part foutre le feu au technocentre il a presque tout fait pour saboter Renault
Tout à fait d'accord ! Cette ordure de Carlos Ghosn est la pire chose qui soit arrivée à notre marque RENAULT et dire qu'il est payé pour saboter la marque. Heureusement Alpine revient et Renault se porte de mieux en mieux malgré ce salopard. VIREZ LE AU PLUS VITE !

What is the point in a big engine capacity ? Formula 1 cars have 1.5 l engine and beat a 6.3 l c63 amg. All its about force weight ratio, transmission, turbo.

I just don't know why they don't produce such a best of a clio. Our german brands (VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes) are always one step in front of you. Drivers these days want power! Yeah a Clio RS is powerful. But even a Polo R is stronger and you can get a Polo R with tuning up to 350 hp.
Seria muito bom se no Brasil tivesse essa versão esportiva, tanto 1.6 turbo, 1.6 ou 2.0 R.S, o que temos no mercado brasileiro é apenas o "clio comum 1.0" que não chega nem perto desse modelo forte e bonito, acredito que se não fossem os covardes políticos corruptos que temos nessa nação com tantos aumentos de impostos/taxas/desvios de verbas públicas, estaríamos com modelos de carros mais interessantes assim como é no mercado europeu, sou dono de um clio 2015/2016 e tive que fazer diversas melhorias no design dele pra ficar um pouco próximo do design esportivo europeu e obviamente não fiz nada em relação ao motor fraco 1.0, pois ficaria muito caro pra mudar tantos detalhes e ter finalmente um hatch esportivo forte e bonito.

@@Threewlz Exatamente, vi recentemente apenas algumas notícias que talvez terá uma versão nova do clio e bem mais interessante em design bonito (esportivo) e maior potência que os atuais não mais produzidos no BR mas que ainda estão circulando, o mercado brasileiro poderia ser mais competitivo na indústria automotiva, porém o que vemos são simplesmente malditos e safados políticos corruptos dificultando termos maiores opções como é no mercado europeu, conforme estive pesquisando e pesquisei muito sobre o caso desde quando comprei um clio 2015/2016 e mudei ele em vários detalhes até finalmente ser um modelo mais esportivo e próximo do europeu.

Next time I buy a Golf GTI. This engine should be in every clio but you missed it. When I was testdriving the normal clio rs with 200hp I was shocked how thirsty this smal engine is. I had an Audi S3 8P with 320hp and needed by normal drive only 8,5l to 9,5l. Clio RS was more...
