  • Audi A4 Brake pad warning light cam on but the car has minimal ware on the brake pads.
    After a quick visual inspection I found the passenger side brake pad ware sensor wiring had been damaged by a UFO.
    In this video I show you the basic steps to diagnose the warning light along with the importance of performing a visual inspection.
    Happy Spannering

    *you can’t judge “needing pads” from just one side of the caliper, stuck or frozen calipers make pad wear uneven. Just a clarification

    Just replaced my rotors and brakes and it came on, after putting the new sensor.

    Mine just came on today after some douchebag cut me off this morning. Now my car makes a weird brushing sound when driving. I went to the mechanic and he said it could be a sensor issue since all the brake pads were fine. But there was a 3hr wait...going tomorrow after work. Hopefully it's not too expensive to fix. Great video Johnny!

    I have a center brake light that keeps coming up and once it became consistent I ran into an issue where the car wasn’t registering it being in park. I replaced the brake pedal sensor but the key still is Stuck smh. Any clue
    ?

      Automatic ? Yes...it's likely the park neutral safety switch....bit test it first to make sure you didn't get a bad break switch by joining the wires....

    Looks like you trapped the sensor wire on the calliper carrier bolt , that’s what’s cut it .

    If you just disconnect the sensor and replace the pad with one without the sensor should the light go off

    • @JohnnysSpeedShop
      @JohnnysSpeedShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No... that's not how it works the circuit would still be open and you can't just buy one pad and you would have uneven braking if you did this....

      Johnny's Speed Shop thanks for the reply what I meant to say was was that I just changed both pads on the front and the left front side had a sensor in a brake pad and the new ones had no sensor so in just cut the old sensor wire and fitted all new pads and now I have the same warning light the old wire is still attached but cut

    • @JohnnysSpeedShop
      @JohnnysSpeedShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@safierahmad4461 just connect the cut wires and the light will go out for you. Just means there would never be a warning when your brakes pads are almost done. Solder and heat shrink the connection so it lasts...should do the trick.

      Johnny's Speed Shop do you mean solder the two wire together so they connect

    • @JohnnysSpeedShop
      @JohnnysSpeedShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@safierahmad4461 yes...using the peice you cut off of the old pad...plug it back into the car and join the two open wires...you'll want to make a loop small enough so it doesn't get tangled up un the suspension...
