  • In this video we explore ways that you can improve your sleep. We look at 5 foods that will help you to achieve this goal and other things you can do to improve your overall sleep hygiene.
We talk about the following foods:
Kiwis: Kiwifruit contains melatonin, which helps regulate circadian rhythm. It's also rich in folate, important for sleep and restless legs syndrome.
Fatty fish: Oily fish like salmon and tuna aid in better sleep quality due to omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D, essential for serotonin secretion and sleep regulation.
Almonds: Rich in magnesium and melatonin, almonds relax muscles and regulate sleep cycles. They also promote the production of GABA, reducing anxiety for restful sleep.
Walnuts: Similar to almonds, walnuts contain magnesium and folate, contributing to better sleep quality.
Tart cherries: Tart cherries contain melatonin and tryptophan, aiding in serotonin and melatonin production for improved sleep. They're also rich in antioxidants and vitamins.
Additionally, to improve sleep, maintain a consistent sleep schedule, avoid electronic devices before bed, create a comfortable sleep environment with darkness and cool temperature, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy diet.
