Another thing to note about the Venom episodes: This show actually gave Brock an arc, and introduced the idea of the Symbiote increasing aggression. In the comics Eddie wasn't introduced until he was already Venom. This show actually gave him legitimate reasons for disliking Spidey, and made the symbiote more dangerous by introducing the idea that it enhanced your negative attributes. Something the comics later adopted.
thats why (even though i enjoy the Venom movies) they still havnt fully got the Venom character like how i am used to from this show, Im glad they nailed the look at least (one of my main complaints of SM3)
"Turning Point" might my favorite episode, but my honorable mentions would be the first episode with Doctor Octopus, X-Men crossover, and Morbius intro, his theme music was amazing. Blade was introduction to whole new audience before his movie. The voice of Miss America was same voice of Firestar from "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" plus the voice actor did another voice during "The Lizard King" episode. It was a fun series.
This show turned me into the Spider-Man fan I am today! it's also my basis for how Spider-Man shows sould be (alongside the Spectacular series, but mostly TAS)
The Turning Point at the end had the best voice acting I've heard Barnes do in the entire series. You literally feel his pain through it. I'm glad you posted that. He also could teach Vader a thing in how to shout out NOOOO when losing a loved one.

Before watching the video: Season 5 and the Venom episodes are the way to go. After watching it: Yup. Don't get me wrong, everything in the early episodes is vital, establishing the characters and their connections and interactions.
I really do liked Spider-Man animated Series from 1994 especially the theme song, but I still wished the writers made one last episode featuring Peter Parker/ Spider Man with Madame Web finding the real Mary Jane and then return to their reality as a proper happy ending instead of leaving the Series as a cliff hanger😒.
what's nice about these cartoons from the 90s, is that most of them weren't animated digitally, so the film can be rescanned in hd and released on bluray eventually. All those shows from the early and mid 2000s that were animated digitally are stuck in sd forever.
There's not a whole lot of competition there. All of the 60's and 80's ones had the same awkward, terrible aspects to them with awful animation and practically nonexistent acting. "Spider-Man: The New Animated Series" from 2003 was just bizarre and had the worst CGI animation possible. Ultimate Spider-Man is like a middle finger, not just to the audience in general, but mostly to people who actually read the comics it's named after (seriously, it's the polar opposite of the comic in every way). The 90's one is, to be honest, not actually that good and it really doesn't hold up, but for really young 90's kids I guess it's passable.

Dude, I'm from Poland and watched this show in the early 2000s. I remember most of these episodes too. This show really was a worldwide phenomenon. Oh, and if anybody knows some sort of a techno or hardbass remix of the opening send me a link! lol
The reveal of Venom was by far my favorite episodes, mainly because black suit Spidey and Venom were my two favorite characters as a kid. Although, the team up he had with Blade was another favorite of mine, not many people tend to remember that he did team up with him on a few occasions.
"The Wedding" should've at least gotten an honorable mention. I mean, think about it - the Kingpin and Jameson are fighting over who gets to organize the wedding of Spider-Man, their most hated person, Flash Thompson and Black Cat are among the guests, the Lizard is giving the bride away, and Green Goblin and Scorpion crash the wedding with an army of RoboGoblins! It's a good thing Venom wasn't in it in some form or fashion because the whole show would've imploded from so much awesomeness! Also, the first two episodes of Season 2.
I loved The Venom Saga. I even have it on DVD. I was tempted to buy it on VHS when I saw it at a thrift store, but I decided against it. I now regret that decision
Don't be sad bout MJ vanishing. The cartoon team here made a final script reuniting Peter and MJ. The creator gave it away at some point for a kickstarter he was running. Maybe he'd share you the final story if you ask?
The very final minute of this series (and I'm surprised that it got left out in this video because it's arguably the most important part of the final episode) was Madame Web promising Peter that they were going to find MJ. I remember the Venom episode VERY clearly! I was so little yet the scenes from that episode stayed incredibly untouched up til my adult years when i finally rewatched the series.
This show was my introduction to all things Marvel and is still on of my favourite shows. Anytime I think Spiderman, I instantly think this show and that kick-ass theme song
best spiderman cartoon ever and if they want a excellent spiderman. movie basically copy this tv show and dont try to change things. Introduce characters that you are not necessarly even going to use in this movie. Save these for future films and have Parker's fellow college mates evolve around whats going on around them and how some end up intersecting with spiderman just like how micheal morphease want from investigating some things to becoming a vampire.
Rexzillagaming that was fucking weired animal human hybrids and the whole carnage and venom thing was dumb it's better when they fight like in the early 2000 ultimate comics
Boy, do you even understand time? I don't think you even understand time. Series of events, such as Carnage coming after venom, and the comment being deadliest foe to date.
When I was 5 years old. The 81 series and Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends were my cartoon. When I was in high school, Spider-Man TAS was what I watched while doing homework. In the comics I was reading, Carnage jumped out to me as a true bad guy. Other villains either wanted money, power, rule/destroy the world. So hearing Carnage was coming to the show, man was I filled with anticipation. The Hydro man episodes started coming back to me after seeing the Mary Jane clone.
MalikProductions Max Yeah comic accurate, like Black Cat being basically a female Captain America. Also she wasn't a burglar and her relation with spidey was nothing like in comics. So basically not Black Cat at all...
Spectacular is more like ultimate spider-man and TAS is more like the 616 spider there both not perfect representations but there different enough to love both.
In the 616 spiderman universe peter parker was in high school for 26 issues out of 750 not including annuals. Why does all of spectacular take place in high school.
As a kid I remember the episode where Punisher clashed Spidey that had six arms. And then watched in awe and fear as the Spiderman turned into Human Spider. Finest moments in the series for me. Then came the next episode where Punisher teams up with Kraven to get Spidey back to normal. It was greatest thing ever. Like... Damn. This series was an enjoyable part of my childhood.
This is EASILY the best Spider-Man cartoon and the best Marvel cartoon overall, followed fairly closely by Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Spectacular Spider-Man, and then X-Men TAS, and then all the rest. My favorite episodes were all the Black Cat ones, and the whole Neogenic Nightmare series with six-arm Spidey, Man-Spider, Morbius, Blade, the X-Men, Vulture and the Tablet Of Time. The Spider-Man TAS version of Vulture is hands down the best version of Vulture ever done. Stealing people's youth is a fucking BRILLIANT twist on the Vulture. It makes perfect sense for an old mad scientist. It makes perfect sense for a character named Vulture. It makes Vulture a terrifying villain due to his powers, AND it allows him to become physically formidable when he regains a youthful body.

the venom episodes should be used for the spiderman 3 movie. i could have been great... but instead we get emo peter.....
Aiji Furupsu no spectacular is much better
I was born '98, but I remember watching reruns and dvd's of the show. It honestly defined a big part of my childhood.
Who Remember Spider-Man Unlimited (P.s My Spider-man Cartoon)
Yes
Rexzillagaming that was fucking weired animal human hybrids and the whole carnage and venom thing was dumb it's better when they fight like in the early 2000 ultimate comics
You rock Channel Awesome! I haven't been watching for long but I've already smashed through a ton of your videos. thanks!

... shame...
08:10 My strongest impression is the part where Peter calls the Atlas gym accessory provider to "reassures" the delivery adress.
"Venom! Spider-mans deadliest foe to date" Boi do you even Carnage? I dont think you even carnage
As a hardcore spider-man I still love TAS but I'll mostly watch it for nostalgia and spectacular spider-man is better.
MalikProductions Max Yeah comic accurate, like Black Cat being basically a female Captain America. Also she wasn't a burglar and her relation with spidey was nothing like in comics. So basically not Black Cat at all...
darkknightfan75 yes spectacular is much better
Spectacular is more like ultimate spider-man and TAS is more like the 616 spider there both not perfect representations but there different enough to love both.
In the 616 spiderman universe peter parker was in high school for 26 issues out of 750 not including annuals. Why does all of spectacular take place in high school.
Original Spider-Man started in high school too...
Spectacular is better.
Angel- Movie and Marvel Maniac. Yep
Angel- Movie and Marvel Maniac.
I think both are good.
Angel- Movie and Marvel Maniac. Both are great
Lmao no.
Angel- Movie and Marvel Maniac. it's meh. 90's is better written and I'd still rather watch ultimate
Just to sound juvenile, Spectacular Spider-Man > Spider-Man TAS
Ben Wasserman a good show nonetheless.
Spectacular has fantastic action scenes and writing
Spectacular was good but there will never be another Spider-Man cartoon that stands up to TAS
That's idiotic. TAS has corny lines, bad writing, and was completely ruined by censorship, whereas Spectacular had to deal with none of that.
I loved this show as a kid! A lot of people grew up with Batman TAS, but I grew up with this
this show made so many memes
Nicholas Borg could you give some examples I haven't heard any memes from this show
Different spider man show
Nicholas Borg no it didn't...you're thinking of the 60s Spider-Man, not this Spider-Man.
Nicholas Borg I think you mean the other Spider-Man cartoon from 1967
Not really
