The only GameCube games I played was Mario Sunshine and MK:DD
Gamecube is my favorite nintendo console with so many great 1st party titles and a solid 3rd party line up. My favorite Gamecube game is baten kaitos it's my second favorite game of all time and wad hype to see it come to switch.
My favorite games are Hello Kitty Roller Rescue, Super Smash Bros Melee, Super Mario Strikers, Mario Party 4, 5, 6, and 7, Mario Power Tennis, Codename: Kids Next Door Operation Videogame, Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, Mario Superstar Baseball, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Luigi’s Mansion, Sonic Heroes, NHL Hitz 2002, NBA Live 2003, and many more games too.
My Favorite is Mario Kart Double Dash ‘cause of the characters’ special Items except for Petey Piranha & King Boo which can get all Of them

@@fleedermouse You will absolutely adore that game. It's one of the best H.P. Lovecraft-inspired games ever. Wonderful story, exceptional voice acting at a time when video game-voice acting was spotty, and a clever magic system. I wish I still had it for the GameCube; I'd let you borrow it.

I’m fine with NSO additions, but I look forward to and prefer physical copies of games I want available for the Switch, regardless of original platform. Would be great to get some N64 and GameCube titles as Physical Media to play on the Switch. Long Live Cartridge games!
Agreed. I don't want to pay for NSO just to play Twilight Princess or something... It's expensive where I live.

I think you're EXACTLY right! I think Nintendo can do this with GCN games because the graphic fidelity still holds up fairly well and wasn't too far off from the Wii. Some of my favorites on GCN were Metroid's, Resident Evil's, Sunshine, F-Zero, MK:DD, Wind Waker, Luigi's Mansion, Donkey Konga, and Soul Calibur.

i loved Mario kart double dash, but i also want all mario parties 4-7 to return to switch cause i had the most memories with mario parties as i would always have guest over and that’s what we played.

I did notice a little something. Metroid Prime 1 and Pikmin 1 and 2 were previously re-released on the Wii as part of the New Play Control series. It's possible that they are only gonna do this with Gamecube titles that were part of that series, including Metroid Prime 2, Mario Power Tennis and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, though I would like to be wrong.
I'd like, Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door, Starfox Adventures, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 DX, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Party 4-7 and either Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker OR Twilight Princess to start with.
Paper Mario Ttyd, Both Zeldas, Fzero gx, and Starfox assault would be great and as a bonus Gotcha Force would be cool as a direct eshop port
I would love to see Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. Imagine the new insanity effects that they could do with the portable system!
I think NGC will reach NSO with the release of Nintendo's next console, Switch 2 or whatever it's called.
NGC will be the star console of the service while the owners of this new console will have the N64 catalog available in the regular service.
I hope the same for NDS, which will be in the premium service of "Switch 2" and those of GBA will become the basic one.
Love to see Rouge Squadron 1 +2 in an HD bundle
Metroid prime style remasters makes sense for f zero and Starfox of the game cube.
It will help boost the switch passed the ps2 while weighing up if the franchises have a potential future market on the next hardware while giving the brands exposure.
Now metroid has done it, I see it as a possibility.
I'd have to say my favs were the Prime Trilogy. That being said, that's all I played from the GameCube. Oh, and FF Crystal Chronicles. IMO, Nintendo will likely keep remastering GC games. Partly to sell them individually, but also limited storage on the Switch! These games are bigger than NES, SNES, GB family, Genesis, or even N64. Adding a library of them to SOL would really eat up storage.
I feel like the pikmin collection and metroid prime remastered were done to promote upcoming games in there respective series. Games like mario kart double dash the mario partys etc could release on a nso app next generation tho

If they do this with the GameCube games for the switch they need to make an adapter for GameCube memory cards so we can play our old files again from our old games
See this is interesting because when they put out the pikmin remasters at the recent direct, it made me feel hopeful for future GameCube games. Fingers crossed! I wouldn’t mind a GameCube port, would love if TP WW and even animal crossing (GC VERSION) came to switch!
Gods i would love a skies of arcadia hd port more then anything else but i think youre right and i love it i love these shadow drops at the directs its so so good im so happy to have pikmin 1 and 2 on switch im still waiting to buy it but i cant wait till i can
I really hope when they release the Switch 2 that it's not only backwards compatible but that they continue to support the Switch 1 for a few years by making all these continued HD ports and remasters available on both Switch and Switch 2.

man look at the current nintendo, they literally refuse to give us backing up out save data unless we fork over 20 dollars at least... no themes no music never had backwards compatibility... they are NEVER going to make the switch 2 backwards compatible, I mean if they rerelease breath of the wild deluxe on the switch 2, they'd sell 10 million+ copies... why would they do anything but make more money? Accept it.

@@Jokerxeno1 you might be right, but Nintendo also has a long history of backwards compatibility. The Wii played GameCube games and the WiiU played Wii games. played Gameboy Games, GBA played GBA and GBC games. The DS played GBA games and the 3DS played DS Games. The New 3DS was arguably meant to be its own system that flopped and it played 3DS and DS games on top of the few N3DS exclusives that got made. Not to mention that the SNES, N64, and GC all had player peripherals for different Nintendo handheld console games.
I'm not saying every Nintendo console has been or has to be backwards compatible, but given the track record there's clearly decent odds for the next one to be.

What’s stopping Nintendo from creating a game cube CD disk and 3ds cartridge slot for their new model
This would be fantastic. I also hope they beef up some of these other libraries like N64 which is currently pretty sparse
100 agree. Nintendo will use HD remasters or ports, to advertise hype for upcoming releases. I have come to see NSO is a market advertising tool to get us aware or guessing of new games in those series, are coming out. Honestly, as long as we can buy 3rd party retro game collections or remakes, and that all Switch games are foward compatible on every next gen Switch; I am happy.

$30 is too much for bare minimum effort HD GameCube ports
I would be both happy, but also a little worried if this happens. Because, yes, I'd finally be able to experience a lot of Gamecube games that I've either rarely played or never played at all, but, if GameCube does come to NSO, then that means we'll most likely get Super Mario Sunshine. As great as this is, this would mean that 2/3 of Super Mario 3d All Stars will be on NSO, basically meaning that buying 3d All Stars would end up felling kinda pointless, even more so if they add Wii to NSO.
Of course my luck, it won’t be added to the expansion pack for me since I have the first Nintendo switch

My biggest concern is what DIRECTION they plan to take the next gen? will it be an actual new console or will it just end up going in the same direction as Playstation Q and it'll just end up being a FULLY DIGITAL ONLY steaming device. Cause if it's not now then its definitely going to happen with the one gen that comes after.

(Ignore my account) I think, for a part GameCube games will go ported, and remastered for twilight and wind waker possibly; then in switch 2 (A switch/3ds mixup probably) gamecube and wii online as options. I saw that ligis mansion 2 got ported from 3ds...so its interesting to see what are they going to do , ¿Port gamecube, wii, and 3ds games to the library?, ¿Backwards compatibility in switch 2? Only time will tell.
I hope they bring a physical game of Luigi's Mansion 1 & 2 + Zelda Twilight Princess & Wind waker on the Switch. I never played Skyward Sword on the wii. But I did on the switch. and it made me realize how good Zelda games are. And made me question myself. Why did I not play them earlier? I really hope they do make them on the switch as physical

If they don’t add online multiplayer to these updated ports, that would be disappointing, I’d love to pvp online on Metroid prime 2 echos, or racing online on F-Zero, imagine the amount of custom ships you’d be able to race online on F-zero GX

GameCube games are too meaty to make them part of an NSO like package. They're more or less at parity with modern games in terms of quality and content. They would be stupid not to up rez them and charge $40 a pop.
Question is will the shadow drop prime 2 and 3 before prime 4 or will the shadow drop it the same day they announce prime 4

They can't add in an emulator. The GameCube games take up too much space. They would have to release them one at a time in the eShop.
My hot take is the Wii U sort of was the GameCube 2.0 but we will never see it that way because they ported everything onto the Switch before letting that console have age and have a legacy.
I wish nintendo would make a brand new idea for the Starfox series.
I agree that it's quite telling with the approach Nintendo is taking when it comes to the GameCube library of games. I also believe they'll shadow drop Prime 2 & 3 in the September Direct, with Prime 4 to release by the end of the fiscal year in March 2024, similar to Pikmin 1 & 2 the other day prior to Pikmin 4 releasing next month.
As for current & potential GCN games coming to Switch, this is what I have so far and could expect to come as standalone releases on the eShop:

I think they’ll actually shadow drop fzero gx becasue that’s the next game they should come out with it makes more sense than Metroid prime 2 3. Because mp4 is likely to be the big holiday title for next year and 2 and 3 could be February releases if not anything. Like prime remastered.
OG Luigi's Mansion, considering the fact that there HD remaking Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. It feels rather off if they didn't Remastered The OG Luigi's Mansion.
Melee and Double Dash, I highly doubt it. I don't they'll do it because of MK8D and Smash bros Ultimate. I just don't think past Mario Kart and Smash Bros games will ever see the light of day of HD ports unless it's only on their NSO+ service.

F-Zero GX has been rumoured for awhile now and is coming up on it's 20th anniversary in August, so I could definitely see it being released in an upcoming "empty month" of 1st party releases.
@@couldnotic good point regarding the Luigi's Mansion franchise. The OG is one of my favorites (3 was fantastic as well) which was also remastered on the 3DS in 2018 & I'm definitely looking forward to playing Dark Moon for the first time, as I never owned a 3DS.
As for Melee & Double Dash, I agree that they won't be considered for HD ports but I could see them adding both to NSO if they ever include GCN titles on the service in the future. Mario Kart 64 is on there despite 8 Deluxe, and I believe the OG Smash has a good chance on being added to the next batch of N64 titles.
i would like to see some unreleased games that were never made outside Japan.
The Nintendo game that I would most like to see on modern hardware is Tears of the Kingdom. All joking aside. I hope we get Pokemon Colosseum / DX and Luigi's Mansion 1, the latter is not unlikely I think.

I think you’re right that the Game Cube games would be included with Nintendo subscription on the next gen console. They are handpicking a few titles from GC to touch up and being over to Switch, which I think is great because I’d rather they do that than not have any GC titles on Switch, but the Switch is on its way out and Nintendo needs to have something attractive on the next gen console to sell subscription service with it and GC games seems like a very attractive offering.
I wonder if they'll do Sega Saturn or Dreamcast games since they already did the Genesis

I want to see more GameCube games getting remastered or ports on the Nintendo Switch especially I never had a chance to play them sadly not even a kid 😥😢 because I never got into them before that I never owned a GameCube from a long time ago until now I finally got a GameCube but there hard to find now these days, more expensive to afford, or there so rare of finding one that I’m trying to have in my collections, I missed out on so much good games to play.

Definitely gonna happen next gen, it's the next system up, but I know Nintendo is hesitant releasing it
I’ve always said that my kids and I enjoyed GameCube games the most of anything Nintendo’s made, even when we had our Wii, or our first gen Switch. We never had the WiiU-even though it intrigued me-and then came the Switch, which is what I think Nintendo wanted “format wise” all along: to play on your TV, but play it on the go as well.
Games that my son and I would like to see eventually: PLEASE port ‘Madden’, and ‘NHL’ to it, to have a handheld way to play these two games. Also, bring back “EA BIG” games, like ‘SSX3’, and ‘NFL Street2’, along w/‘NBA Street3’, where it had Mario, Luigi, and other characters to play as, similar to “Soulcalibur2”, where you could play as Link. Also liked “Gun” (Western), along w/movie games like “King Arthur”, & “The Two Towers” (LOTR) too. My daughter would love to see “Dog Island”, “Okami”, “Thrillville: Off The Rails” on it somehow as well, which were 3 of her favs on the Wii.

I do not see Nintendo ever adding Gamecube games to the online service. I see them making HD remasters like Metroid Prime and selling them at a $39.99 each game. I also see them using these games as a pacifier while they get launch day games ready for the next system. I see them releasing more and more Gamecube remasters for this purpose.
The Switch doesn't have the hard drive space for GC NSO. Maybe their next gen will, but i wouldn't expect it before then.
What about SD card? I’m sure it’s a given that it’s recommended to have one in handy before downloading the expansion.
@WiiMan3121 That really doesn't seem like nintendo's pattern. They won't require you to get an accessory they don't sell you to play games they provide. They'll make a unit that has more memory and sell that. But they won't be making a switch with more disk space this late in it's life and it would need to be standard.
But honestly i think They'll just keep selling remasters. And that might be for the best all around.
I really can't see GameCube games ever coming to NSO, not even for the "Switch 2". It's so much more likely that they'll just continue porting and remastering GameCube favorites. Honestly, I don't think they'll add any Nintendo consoles more modern than GBA and N64.
Wait, A quick argument about the metroid prime thing, so nintendo has remade a link to the past, and put that on nso, they remade Mario 64 on 3d allstars, and that is on nso, so they could definitely do metroid prime.

I honestly hope so I bought a switch yesterday after wanting one since release.. I have this to say.. Im very disappointed by the expansion pak and the price. NOS should make titles buyable instead of a yearly membership fee.. I will not get the NOS+expansion pak renewal and more than likely will go back to my pc emulator...

September is definitely the target month for Nintendo direct to go all out for what’s going to go down next year and probably have a GameCube switch online expansion. what I would like to see is a new F-Zero game also with star fox and to hold us over until these games get released we can have F-Zero GX star, Fox assault and adventures as pack and games or part of the switch online service.

Porting them is for the best. but an F0 GX remake though is good with the story reimagined a bit with Grand Prix mode having local co-op up to four players, and a 16 racing online mode. what would be neat though is have additional courses exclusive to that remake that F0 GX let alone a X didn’t have like death, wind, white land, and a red Canyon course

They will never do gamecube online. They will do hd remasters.
Next year would probably be when we're getting Paper Mario Thousand Year Door remaster & Paper Mario 7, since they seem to be releasing a new Paper Mario every 4 years (Sticker Star: 2012, Color Splash: 2016, The Origami King: 2020).
Also, TTYD turns 20 next year.

@johnnyhickman3083 He's the one who changed Sticker Star's development and delayed it. It was due out around 2011 for the 3DS and he wanted more time to change it into a shallow mess that became Sticker Star by removing 90% of the RPG elements from the first two games and adding in NSMB aesthetics. This is why SS was delayed by a year and the early E3 2011 build had a Chain Chomp partner and some areas that never made it into the final game. I definatly remember seeing an area with a checkerboard room with playing cards stacked everywhere. It looked too "TTYD-ish" for Miyamoto's tastes, I guess.

Yeh I doubt we're getting GameCube on its online subscription. What have we had now, super mario sunshine, metriod remastered, pikmin 1 & 2, sphinx, tas, amongst others. All individual releases.

I have to admit it will be really amazing to get Wind Waker and Twilight Princess download off the Nintendo shop. However I rather for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD to come in stores and I am still waiting for these games on the switch however I will accept getting the games is to just down load them off the nintendo shop so be it all though that means I have to get a SD card that will allow me to play more games for the switch. Anyway I still have faith that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to come in stores for the switch I will still like to see them as a combo though. Playing the game cube games will be pretty cool it will be nice to play Mario party 7 but I am not going to cause I went ahead and download the Game boy advance games but it tells me that I have to pay 14.99 a month and I just want to play Legend of Zelda Minish cap so forget it. Anyway we got Tears of the kingdom on the switch now so its time for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to come on the switch.
