I like how when pressed for more information (the sponsor that bailed, how much the Lycos contract was for), Robbie is quick to spill. These are the details of the history of this sport that may never get preserved otherwise.

Matt was asked who the other teams were that were courting him for 1998 and he didn't spill the beans out of respect to drivers of those teams at the time. Interesting and opposing way to handle it.

I am older than dirt! I distinctly remember watching that race at Rockingham. Tony was quite well-known due to racing Indy cars. Matt was a nobody driving for a nobody. The thing is that Matt clearly had the better car that day after about the mid-point of the race. He tried and tried to get around Tony to no avail. I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that Tony was going to win. Then Matt moves Tony and wins the race. I almost pissed my pants!! I am yelling and screaming and my wife comes in to see if I am alright and I explain to her what had just happened. By now, someone is interviewing Tony and he is totally pissed!!! To me, at that time, this was the second greatest David vs. Goliath story ever. I became a Matt Kenseth and Robbie Reiser fan that day and it has continued on through today!!! Great story! Thanks for having Robbie on and sharing these wonderful stories!!! You guys make getting old a little less depressing and I thank you for all of us old codgers.

Grew up outside of Hartford on family farm and was able to attend some races at Slinger in the 1970's before these guys raced and before it turned into a more popular race track and it was dirt. Haven't been there in over 40 years but interesting listening to him share as I never knew this but followed Matt during his NASCAR career.

I don't think JR even realizes how many fans he has affected to this point in his life. He has brought together more people than the pope! I really feel like he himself has transcended @NASCAR. Atm @DaleJr is bigger than @NASCAR. It's pretty amazing to see when you think about the anxious, nervous, camera shy guy that drove just like his dad was when he first started.

Amazing how much there is to learn about NASCAR. I have had time to learn since I retired. Now I smile when people say they do not watch people driving around in circles. Too bad Nascar doesn't develop programming to help young people learn about the sport and rebuild the fan base. It has never recovered since Dale passed. Gerald.
