Cool - I love this clip. It shows Guy's personality so well. Pretty sure everything was shot in Tennessee except the scenes with Townes and maybe some of the concert footage.
Yes that is correct. Sorry.. The way the film is edited confused me. I am Nashville born and raised, and live there now. Should have known better. So sue me. I was just now re-enjoying this clip! I just re-enjoyed watching this
Guy Clark's own words about that.. “Remember that section where I’m working on the guitar?” he asks. “Doing all this intonation and talking all this shit, just drinking wine. If you look, I was so fucked up I strung the guitar upside down, with the bass strings on the treble side.” 😂
"Austin luthier"??? I am pretty sure this was shot in Nashville where Clark lived most of his adult life, and he is from Monahans and Houston, not Austin.
Yep, that’s how the golden age guitars were built and maintained. They smoked around the guitars and didn’t wear safety glasses either. Horrible humans they were.
Guy Clark is the coolest dude ever by far
When these guys make music they truly make music from the guitar on up. Now that's a music man
Man !!Suzanne was so beautiful.
Guy and Townes behave so much alike you can tell how much time they spent together in Nashville

I met Guy in Houston at a coffeehouse called "Sand Mountain back in the mid 60's......he was a great songwriter even back then.
I love this video.

@@joelba1I just read that article. When I Googled ‘ How many guitars did Guy Clark make?’ , the article came up.
Lord, Guy is so hot.

I thought Guy was from Monahans tx. am I wrong in assuming that he was west texas? maybe I'm thinking about Terry Allen?
Terry Allen is from Monahans
boats to build
no fret level block, straight file. yikes.
I'm guessing early days this would have been common. These days, everyone's got a tool for everything.
