This plugins does - close to perfection - all that bad issues we used to avoid back in the 60's and 70's... quite realistic indeed. But... for me it remembers some past nightmares...hahhahahahahhaaa
“We made a vibrato/chorus” $10 Producers: nope “We perfectly modelled the legendary studio THVD-2748 analog tube rackmount point-to-point blah blah” $499 Producers: THROWS HUGE HANDFULS OF CASH ($129 is stupid)
Goodhertz is so legit. Loved this one. And their can opener was a game changer for my headphone monitoring (way better than Waves NX, which tries too hard).
the capstan motor it a part of the fly wheel it's worn capstan rubber on the capstan wheel that causes that get a reel to reel and experiment it sounds better than plugins and having a good running reel to reel you can use it for echo or just pich the tape when its playing for this effect lol.
There's a few tutorial videos on youtube, from producers who I think should know better, promoting the idea that you can create a balanced mix using pink noise (ie. using pink noise, and soloing each track in turn and adjusting gain until it can just be heard above the pink noise). Lots of commenters saying this is great, and others saying they use this method as a starting point for their mixes. I think you would do a great job at debunking this, or perhaps otherwise.
Hi this is more special FX than anything. Can u do something like their compressor or there “Can Openers” please? Really interested of a pro mixer would find their can opener plugin useful.
At 3:58 where you fiddle with the color slider I didn't hear a difference. I Could be wrong but it seems to me that the on/off button above the slider is turned off. Great video!
Seems to work well and as advertised except the price point is insane thats way too expensive imo for a lofi plugin when there are a ton of free ones that work great too at basically making your audio sound worse lol.
hi I really appreciate your honest reviews. What's your opinion on the Goodhertz Canopener Studio? Since the covid I had to move my entire mixing at home with headphones and I'm trying to find some tools to help me in the process. Thanks and stay safe
I love all Goodhertz plugins, simple, minimal and great sounding, could u review the Ruby EQ from Acustica Audio? shits hella expensive and i wonder why tbh
Would be great for video sound design and editing, when the cassette pops in to the deck on a beat up car, a perfect studio sound would be distracting.
Haha yeah, I can see BoC in this. Could of course also be achieved e.g. via modulation of vst instrument parameters (I'm having Bitwig modulators in mind). Indeed pricey, but a well executed and focussed toolbox.
For a new real tape vs tape plugins comparison please don’t forget the upgraded Toneboosters Reelbus v4. A lot happens to it from v3. Thanks and greets
You should re "mix" my Project Struck I sent you , one last time . You seem much more knowledgeable now a days . And would LOVE to see what you could do .

You should do Wolf Compressor by Goodherz next, It's a funny little thing.

This reminds me of making out and dancing with my grandma

wow, That's great, which is good, I can think of many things just by listening.

conclusion: if it goes on sale for 30$ sure. otherwise that's way too much for what it does.
famitory exactly!
Looks to me like the sort of thing a sound designer for movies etc would have. Not sure I'd use it in music production.
Breautiful.. love it! 😄

Listen to the high end, you can hear the shakers getting less bright, thats the most obvious thing and of course super obvious with 'cassette' mode
I like the GUIs of those lugins. The other ones are great too....you should review the whole bundle...

Looking forward to the tape plug-in video :D

When you use the dry-wet mix, it sounds kinda like a rotary speaker. Also, the extreme effect would be great for designing Hardstyle screeches!
He didn't go into the presets unfortunately, but there is one specifically called 'Lesliesque'! Actually two, one for mono and for stereo.
I like the suggestion you made at the end that this would be useful as a creative tool in sound design, especially with a simple tone.

I was skeptical when you first mentioned this plugin but it seems really fucking cool!
Goodhertz make fantastic plugins, I own all of them:)
Steven Wilson ?
Fifeteen. Are you dutch or something? ;)
You should try (if not already done) XLN Audio RC-20 Retro Color.
I love that stuff, use it all the time.
No. It’s not mixing. It’s basically special fix. How can it be snake oil?
I would Love to see you check out the Can Opener also by Goodhertz
Hi man,
It's a kind of flanger ?
I own it and it is awesome.
In Reaper you can LFO pitch for free without any plugin with Parameter modulation.
It says 'WOW' Not 'WHOA' 😁
All good tho✊
5:21 I just laughed my as off !!!!
hi , good vibes from Brazil !!! can you make a review , accusonus regroover 1.7 , thanx
Would be great for video sound design and editing, when the cassette pops in to the deck on a beat up car, a perfect studio sound would be distracting.
Great for Boards of Canada fans. Probably most useful with heavy randomisation at an amount setting of 1 to 2%. Very pricey for what it does.

Nice to see a Goodhertz plugin on here :D Keep up all the great video's Wytse!
What was the saturation like? Did it emulate tape saturation at all?
Would be a lot of fun on individual tracks!
what song is he playing????
A Spanish remix of Sandstorm.
Wow like Cow and Now

Fabfilter Saturn (Saturation \ Distortion) Snake Oil would be very nice!
Hue! Jij bent uit de hoofdstad van de mooiste provincie van Nederland! :D
Hey WSS, why are you tagging your videos with “snake oil”? Click bate I suppose? Doesn't seem as you have understood the term Snake Oil? : )
try some of the acustica audio stuff....
and that was just the vinyl preset
You should re "mix" my Project Struck I sent you , one last time . You seem much more knowledgeable now a days . And would LOVE to see what you could do .
You should do more free plugins.
this plugin doesnt offer enough control. youd think you would be able to set a constant dropped pitch setting
Make a Snake Oil about AirEQ by Eiosis!
I am disappointed son. No rusted srew tattoed on your front. Smh
