Flying Our Bonanza F33A 6 HOURS NONSTOP To Private Montana Airstrip!

- Today we fly our new Beechcraft F33A Bonanza over 1,000 miles nonstop to our private secluded airstrip in Montana with Owen. This was a big direct flight, so we were able to put the turbo normalizer to work and fly high over the rocky mountains and fast. This is only the 2rd flight after buying this plane sight unseen last month. We recently installed the new interior which felt amazing even after 6 hours in the air.

This flight was a great opportunity to put the BO to work! Crazy we landed with about 2.5 hours worth of fuel still on board. Minus 45 minute VFR reserves = we could have traveled another 350 ish miles or 1400 (1215 nautical miles) in total with reserves. And we were still at max cruise power not trying to "hyper mile" it. I always like flying into Scottsdale when I go down to the Valley. The A210 I fly in is the Ford Pinto of the airport though!!!

I just saw Owen this weekend. He passed me at 190 knots while coming into SBP. I really wanted to meet but before I could even shutdown he ran and hopped into a 414.

Sick video. Being that the Bonanza is a turbo I’m surprised you’re not throwing on some O2 and flying in the high teens? It would probably get another 10 KTAS and shave off close to an hour?
We were going to, but didn't this flight. Hopefully we'll have another video going HIGH! You're right, should pick up 10-15 KTAS.

Quite a bit, we fit pretty well.

Yeah, I don’t know why it mattered to me, but I felt that was odd too.
Why aren’t you two flying? Seems odd to see a channel where the two subjects DON’T do the flying.
I believe they’re still working on getting their ppl’s.
@@colind1062 That’s interesting in that it isn’t very apparent in their video’s. I haven’t seen them working the radio’s, practicing takeoffs or landings or even setting flaps, instruments or anything else. Not saying they aren’t (maybe they’re editing that out… which makes little sense for an aviation based channel?) but I haven’t seen it at all. Just seems like they buy and sell airplanes and hire a pilot to fly them when they want. Nothing wrong with that mind you. But it would sure make it more interesting to get viewers more involved in their successes and minor failures in the pursuit of their ppl.

Most inclined airport: Lukla inclined airport in Nepal. extremely dangerous. it is very short so you need the incline to pick up speed to take off. I have been there in a heli as well as a plane.

Owen is a co-owner in this Bonanza. This was a fun 5 day trip that we all wanted to go on. Even if we did have our PPLs the stuff you’ll see in the next few videos require some serious skill, so happy to have Owen there. Slowly but surely working toward them, don’t need to rush anything :)
@@JRAviation I don't mean to rush you - I realize creating all the content you put out there is very time-consuming. Making a commitment to flying 2-3 times a week will pay off in less overall hours required before your checkride. Given the lifestyle you want to have with the property up north, you should jump right into instrument training after PPL.
Don’t rush him. Safety is the main priority. Don’t let peer pressure rush you.

@@IkeCoblentz every time these guys go flying there mate is PIC and the to brother who own the plane are passages they paying for everything and there mate is taking all the rewards I just find it a bit unfair and they getting taken for a ride I own a 10 seater plane in charter and I didn’t buy it for one of my mate to fly it just saying 👍

We actually flew 75 miles further that we had to just because we wanted some extra fuel for the following days. So nonstop is not a problem.

Ooops! It looks like someone's registration expired on June 30, 2021.
FAA is backed up with registrations. We bought in February and it took a couple months to get.
@@onyx5226 I renewed mine in Feb., this year, and got it in less than three weeks. Maybe renewals are faster.

How bad do you want it? BTW, you don't get here punching a clock from 9 to 5. More like you work 12 + hour days every day and THEN you get here after a few years. A dream is a dream...Action is what counts ;-) Good luck, lots of people have done similar!
