Salvatore (a friend of many trips, riding a Tenerè 700) and I will leave on Saturday 28th, boarding a boat from Brindisi for Igoumenitsa.
We will cross Greece quickly, enter Turkey from Istanbul and then go to Cappadocia. Afterwards we will go to Iraqi Kurdistan and then enter Iran, the heart of this route. We will see the most beautiful cities of ancient Persia and cross a couple of deserts in the south . The next border will be with Pakistan, which we will probably see accompanied by a police escort, and then enter India to see the Taj Mahal and face the last border, the one with Nepal. From there we plan to go and visit the Mustang, the area that borders the giant of Annapurna, rich in Buddhist monasteries. After a few days between villages at 5000 meters we will descend towards Kathmandu and then embark the motorbikes and go back.
In addition to realizing a personal dream, we want to support a cause that is very close to our hearts. We have decided to start a fundraiser in favor of research into pancreatic diseases. All proceeds raised will be entirely donated to the UOC of Pancreatic Surgery of the Hospital Policlinico GB Rossi of Verona, whose research is coordinated by Prof. Giuseppe Malleo and Prof. Roberto Salvia.
