I just finished one today for Halloween tomorrow. My 11-year-old son wanted to be a plague doctor and this was just the coolest looking mask. It took an entire day (two if you count distractions and buying the supplies) and lots of time, but the result was great. In my 53 years, this was my very first EVER, EVER making a mask from scratch and it looks almost store-bought. I'm very pleased with the outcome and it's only because of the amazing pattern and detailed instructions on his videos. It wasn't boring either watching it over and over and over again so I could get each step. The music and humor kept my interest in continuing the instructions. Thank you for making it fun to watch and very detailed for us dyslexics. I think we are going to make the bionic arm next just because!

For piece number 12 I really recommend forgoing cutting out the paper and tracing it on. Instead, lay the pattern on top of the foam, take a needle and poke many dots through both layers where the lines are. Lift the paper and connect the dots. This is a much better option if you find it difficult to cut the pattern exactly. Amazing project to try! It turned out great :)
Don’t be afraid to make this! I bought the template and was able to make this and rock it for Halloween. It looks great!!!! Super intimidating at first but don’t be. It’s sooooo simple to do. My costume was a mad success! Thanks so much.

This is a fun mask to make and it isn't as difficult as it looks! I didn't feel like buying a leather punch I'd probably never use again just to make a couple dozen fake rivets so I got a sheet of 2mm self-adhesive plastic gems instead (I hot glued them anyway to make sure they wouldn't pop off). They look very convincing once painted and only cost a few bucks.
I am currently working on my second mask, and I just have to say that watching your videos never gets old. I love them so much! I sent a video to my father and he fell in love with you and your videos too! Keep up the amazing work!!

+Stefanie Elle Hmmm, it must depend on the combo of parchment paper and glue, as I tried but had no luck. Do you know what brand you used. Might be helpful to a lot of people.
+Lost Wax I just use Reynolds parchment paper for cooking found in grocery stores. There is usually only one option for parchment paper in grocery stores and it's always been Reynolds. Not sure about other brands but it works great for me. As a reminder...parchment paper is not wax paper (I see a lot of craft blogs that say "parchment paper or wax paper" implying that they are the same...they are not!).

I will add that in Australia I tried "baking paper" which is not wax paper, I would say it seems a lot like parchment paper, and that didn't work, just in case anyone is planning on using it.

I have three different sizes, the one I used is the medium size.
Chubercik there's three sizes and from my experience the medium sized mask surprisingly fits most people

+Lost Wax I just use Reynolds parchment paper for cooking found in grocery stores. There is usually only one option for parchment paper in grocery stores and it's always been Reynolds. Not sure about other brands but it works great for me. As a reminder...parchment paper is not wax paper (I see a lot of craft blogs that say "parchment paper or wax paper" implying that they are the same...they are not!).

I will add that in Australia I tried "baking paper" which is not wax paper, I would say it seems a lot like parchment paper, and that didn't work, just in case anyone is planning on using it.
