Why am I doing this? Why am I subjecting myself to more Control Your Narrative? I really do not know but today we are going to be watching more Control Your Narrative, more specifically we're watching the prequel to Control Your Narrative, Free The Narrative. And to me, this show is the WORST I've seen so far. Like for more Control Your Narrative content!

For a company called "Control Your Narrative", their narrative is entirely out of control

Crazy cause it’s not the wrestlers narrative it’s EC3s and Adams narrative. Oddly coincidence the moves they banned are moves they don’t or can’t do lol.
On the surface, it's an unabashedly individualistic concept, meant to promote total freedom. But at its core, it's just as authoritarian (if not moreso) as any other organization. Sounds like the work of folks who would clap and whistle at a Mussolini speech.

@@maklame3318 I like that you are confident in your presumption, but I did actually watch some CYN and seen interviews and articles by the main guys and creators (mainly EC3). I've gotten hints of their flawed rationale, like banning some moves but not others. I've looked at the themes these shows seem to have in common and why they are inconsistent and overall reactionary to wrestling as a whole. I gained a clearer picture the more I looked into CYN.
It's revolutionary, but pines for the status quo ante. It's individualistic (it's called Control _Your_ Narrative), but retains the collective spirit of a shitty version of Fight Club. And it supposedly has a more horizontal structure yet still enforces rules on other people - controls them, if you will. Only EC3 and Scherr can be egoistic and free, the rest have to delude themselves into being controlled. They are already free, but choose not to be, because the rules must be respected and your narrative must be controlled by the rules. The promotion at its current state can only ever be mid at best given their inconsistent observation of their own foundational beliefs. Perhaps they'll stop navel gazing and do some real reflection rather than "I'm 14 and this is deep" shit.
I love how CYN's main gimmick is having a camera guy instead of a referee in the ring running around.

My favorite part of this whole promotion has to be the fact that it's all being done unironically, while still being the perfect ridiculousness-esque version of wrestling that's perfect for having on in the background while you're doing house chores because you know won't be missing much

Honestly it isn’t even horrible wrestling, they’re just doing way too much extra trying to be different, all the edits and random text that pops up makes no sense and the fact that they don’t have an actual “audience” and like you said no commentator just makes it awkwardly quiet. There’s some aspects of wrestling that you can’t just get rid of to “be different”. You need a clear way of winning matches and some type of commentary or something so it doesn’t seem like an empty arena match.

I feel like I could get on board with this if they did it well. If they told a coherent story I would accept some of the strange things they're doing but each show I have no clue what's going on. Theres no story it's just random scenes smashed together. I get they want to be different, but they need to make something make sense. Try at least one story line lol

I think CYN could be great as a faction. In a proper federation. If EC3 returned to IMPACT for example and brought this post WWE persona and the frustrations plus some of the other guys who are on board and preach this. Like he did when he briefly returned for Slammiversary against Moose a while back. The early free your Narrative stuff in IMPACT was very interesting. On its own though, It's become like the Dog Fighting of Wrestling. Bringing this philosophy and preaching it within a proper brand would work so much better. Stone Cold Steve Austin would have felt much less like an outlaw if he was doing it in a place where he ran the show. But if you have a man to stick it to so to speak. To tell you'll do what you want when you want, it could be great. This way. Ultimately, a waste of talent as it is

Pretty much every single no holds barred match in wrestling has had wrestling moves in it, they're trained wrestlers, it's like expecting karate guys not to do karate in a fight. Plus in all them matches there's not been a knife or a gun. I kinda get the complaint but if you've been watching wrestling more than 6 months then it makes no sense here

Also, guys used to have respect for the biz back in the day. A no dq match DIDNT look like a regular old sanctioned match. Whatever your referring to must be from past 2000, after guys lost respect. If someone swings a baseball bat at you, your not going to try to parry it with your bare hands so you can slip in a counter hook. You train to fight a certain way because the fights you are participating in have rules. They are a sport. If you are in a non sanctioned, non sporting fight, with no rules, your not going to go after your opponent with Takewando moves. Your going to find the closest thing you can use as a weapon, and your going to try to put him down as quick as possible. Your not going to sit around and wait for a counter opening, or try to block his kinfe stabs with your hands.

That is Percy Watson who was a competitor in Season 2 of NXT when it was a gameshow that had Alex Riley Husky Harris (later Bray Wyatt), Michael McGillicutty (later Curtis Axel), and Titus O'Neil. Percy later became a commentator in NXT with Mauro Ranallo.
He recognized him, last video he said it was Percy Watson.
