The Altitude Project is a non-profit Canadian group based out of Nelson, BC. They raise money and travel to the Upper Dolpo bringing schools supplies and construction material to build and upgrade schools for up to grade 6. They trek into the region on foot and spend a number of weeks with local teachers and administrators to review the previous year and work on the current year. They do tremendous work and every penny of donated money goes toward their projects. They also sponsor students who want to further their education in Kathmandu or elsewhere. A very worthy project.
