you're doing it wrong, that shaft is worn out, you'll have the same problem soon, the temporary solution you made. you are installing a new bearing on the rusty shaft, both rust and the gap in the shaft cause corrosion.

    • @jambasicskills1970

      Thanks for your advised.
Yes, that was true! I supposed to change also that roller cause it has a worn out shaft but unfortunately that time they have had only a bearing available to replace that parts.
The situation called the attention just to install what was available just to run the conveyor cause the operation that day was very busy unloading farmers truck using that conveyor.
I'm happy about the comment and remind me also if maybe I forget important things.
      Thanks appreciated much

There must be no anti seize or lubricant between shaft and bearing surface

    • @megumei044

I would have gotten out the rosebud and heated the race up before trying to pull it out. If done right the race will heat up before the shaft will and will either slide right off or be much much easier to use a gear puller on to pop it off. I work as an industrial maintenance mechanic in a mine. The rosebud has come in handy so many times that I've lost count.

I would replace that pulley . Shaft looks undercut which will eat that new bearing due to excessive vibration. Or bearing is too for that shaft. Should be nice and flush with the bearing imo.

Oh, that is the wrong bearing inner diameter for that shaft. The shaft isn’t worn out or you wouldn’t need a pulled to remove the old inner race. The inner race should be an interference fit and the grub screws support that interference fit. The inner race which you removed with the puller is what is worn out, not the shaft.
All the drive torque is going through those grub screws, when they vibrate loose, you will then damage the shaft as they mill a grove in it.
But easy for me to comment from my armchair, just trying to reduce your future expense and down time.

      Mr Simon
I thank you very much you saw those problem. Yes, lots from inner to the outer parts was damage but because happened that time has no immediate parts to replace worn out and need to run that conveyor as soon as possible. So, I decided that for a mean a time I use those worn-out as far as its holds and run that conveyor and as of this time the equipment still working 80% lol

Hello Buddy. I can say it frankly that for that kind of bolt was not very complicated compared to vehicle bolts.
Naturally you can do this using your finger to tight bolt size 17mm and below. Tight bolt clockwise till it reach you hard to turn bolt, then use wrench for a final tighten the bolt and turn it half turn, don't put it on full turn.

And then the wash plant , if you see that the bearing is already caked in grease do you leave it , and I usually pump 3 times and if I can see the grease start to come out I stop , other bigger bearings I grease , on the crusher I’m told to give it 15 to 20 pumps . Conveyor bearing need just a small grease in it, 🙂🙂 just 2 manual pumps are enough, avoid to much put grease on bearing.
If bearing seal is broken and grease comin out and you still using that bearing, just need 3 to 4 pumps.
Even thou you pump more than 7 pumps, your just wasting your grease.
