Even then they have no right to deny a person a personal tow. The only time would be if it's in the street but at least with the company I'm with we go out and get the vehicle out of the road before anything else.

City calls. The way it works in my city is the police are only able to request the next available tow company available and they are not allowed to request a specific company unless the people in the crash want to assume the bill and responsibility.
@@Thunderbyrd. If you watched many episodes, you would know that this has been an ongoing issue for a long time. Pigeon Forge PD just won't let them in the rotation even after many requests over the years. They have even been turned away from accident scenes where they were called by the customer, and reached there before anyone else, even the cops. When the cops finally come, they call for another company tens of minutes away. It's not like they don't work in the area, like Jeff said there is no way the cops don't know em at this point. It is just a guess of mine, but i think they are not greasing the necessary hands, or don't have necessary familial relations which ultimately comes to the same outcome, thus they will never be let in the rotation and be blocked at every opportunity.
I can't just fathom the sheriff's department has never heard of Everything Auto, & wonder if your business was legit? 🤔 Kristen knows all & remembers all. I totally respect your family for everything you do 😊😊 Stay safe guys!
If they are not on the sheriff’s call list, they may not know them. Not unusual in an area with so many companies. Also, not everyone has time for TH-cam.
They have repeatedly reached out to the Sherriff's office about getting on their rotation but oddly the agency seems reluctant to add them. Hmmm... @@user-peach408

Ol boy can testify you're a legit tow company! Several of our friends and family know who to call, Kathy and I tell everyone we know that visits down there. That road imo is one of the steepest, most narrow goat paths in the whole area, with some fantastic views. Great video, Y'all ROCK!
First of all so glad that lady is ok after that scary incident. Second of all the sheriff has never heard of Everything Auto… blows my mind. If anything happens happens to my car on vacation I am most definitely calling EA (already got it saved in my phone). While we wait I am introducing your channel to them. Lol This video makes me love Jeff and Kristen even more. Y’all are such amazing people. The world honestly needs more people like you! Keep up the amazing work!
I’ve always been told to not let the police call for a tow for you. If the police call they have agreements with certain tow companies. It will cost you more due to a “finder fee” that the tow company pays to the police department. If you call the same company you won’t be charged the fee. Obviously you don’t play in that game. Thank you!
Jeff are you guys sure that someone in the sheriff's office isn't related to someone who owns another tow company and that they make sure only that company gets called
Jeff,I always enjoy riding on those mountain roads, only when you’re driving 👍🏻. Thanks for taking us along and sharing those beautiful Mountain View’s. Jeff, Kristen and Kendra, another awesome week of videos. From Kentucky 😊.
Police corruption everywhere you turn, sadly. Can you imagine living in a town full of Jeff's and Kristen's? So glad to see there's still good and law abiding folk out there.
I ran into a similar situation years ago when someone ran a light and t-boned me. The city cop didn't want me to call my choice of a tow company. Turns out his brother owned a shady tow company and would give him kickbacks. Not saying that's what happened here, but who knows. Glad she was OK! Beautiful country, but I'll stick to my nice, flat East Texas roads!
I'm a 65 YO single female living my dream traveling in a 31 foot RV with my fur babies. I drove this thing through the Sierra Nevada Mountains in September 2023. I don't know what was scarier, that drive it the $6.50 per gallon I paid for gas in Lake Tahoe. LOL. As scary as that drive was I can tell you there's two places in TN I will not be driving when I come through in a few weeks. Gatlinburg,/Sevierville/Pigeon Forge area and Monteagle. Monteagle scared me to death when I lived in Chattanooga and went to Nashville and I was in a car and 40 years younger. Your area was so little the last time I was through there Dollywood was an infant. The roads scared me while driving a car much less a big old RV. So as much as I love your channel I won't be by for a visit. I hope you understand. LOL. I will say I appreciate what you guys do and stand for. I'll just have to live vicariously through your videos.
Roads down in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge are crowded but can accommodate an RV easy. Gatlinburg can be negotiated but gotta watch the utility poles on the main street, they’ll take off paint and mirrors. Wouldn’t dare to get on any road that doesn’t have lane markings. No markings usually means the paint truck takes up more than a lane, hehe.
@@ridingwithairbubble1694 thanks for the info but I think I'd rather remember that area as it was so long ago. Is beautiful, no doubt. That hill reminds me of the drive up to The Magnolia Wedding Venue, only it's a one lane road that goes straight up just like that one did. Once you get up there, you don't come back down unless you're done for the day or your DONE for the day. One wedding I photographed, the bride hired a catering company who tried to use an old U-haul 24-foot moving truck to come up that hill. You guessed it, they didn't make it up. The Magnolia is just outside of Pigeon Forge on Eagle Point Way. I hope you NEVER have to do a recovery up there.
I said it before in another video, I think they are favoring another company or companies, possibly because of friendship or, dare I say it, some kind of kickback. They could be getting a portion of inflated tow cost with their favorite(s). But I am a suspicious person so I go there with everything. Maybe someone is a relative of the company they like to use, not just a friend. There is something there though. I think I would have shit my pants if that was me, honest to God! I dont know that I could have steered that car & keep it on the road going fast down a hill with no brakes. I am so glad she was able to cause that could have been really bad.
Enjoy your videos Jeff. First started working in Sevier County on the TVA Little Pigeon channelization project to help the flooding in Sevierville. Also, a new potable water intake behind Douglas Dam to elevate critical shortages in the area. On to the Corps of Engineers to work on the Mississippi River projects in West Tennessee where I too was called into question. The PVA of Lake County told me after visiting one questionable establishment that the owner called the courthouse and asked "Is this guy legit? lol
I live in the mountains in Utah. There's the Alpine Loop that is an incredibly popular afternoon drive through the mountains. It's a bit wider than that, and not as steep, but there are still some sketchy turns. Especially if you turn up to Squaw Peak. When I got my new car I decided the best way to learn to drive the car was to go around the loop. To let other cars pass you have to pull way over to the side sometimes, and there's not a lot of space to do that. I also did it on a weekend when it was literally bumper to bumper traffic. Needless to say, by the time I got down I was an expert at driving my car. If I hadn't listened to my mom talk about how everyone is an idiot and how you should drive around the loop I probably would have crashed. It wasn't the smartest thing in the world for me to do, but it worked. I can now hit bubble wrap with my tire while driving on the freeway. Canyon driving is super sketchy!
So glad they are ok. And when we come to Gatlinburg and we ever ever need assistance it will always be everything auto though we have AAA. We will always call you. That's what supporters do and Family.
wow the road i took to my cabin i thought was intense across from the dollar general on the south end of pigeon forge, this road is way worse. Boiling brake fluid is no joke
Well, sounds like that sheriff's deputy may have been wanting to steer the car owner towards another tow service possibly. It's also insane how narrow and crappy the roads/driveways are to a lot of the rental properties. Stay safe EA Team! Keep the Good Going.
" It's also insane how narrow and crappy the roads/driveways are to a lot of the rental properties." I get the feeling that the "engineer" who designs those roads/driveways is someone's brother-in-law's sister's nephew uncle's father, or some such.
There’s a very steep road up Mt. Cadillac in Acadia National Park. These days it’s quite wide and well groomed, but back in the 1950s it was a lot like this. We had standard shift cars in those days and believe me we went down in first, praying all the way.
I wanted to call Everything Auto instead of the company AAA sent when I needed a tow. Then I realized that they probably don't want to drive the 2,500 miles needed to get to me. If only I lived just a little bit closer....
It is true that “some” officers will request “friends/family” to tow the vehicles. My dad had a tow truck and there were a “few” that would state that “the owners request” was so so but it was not true. But what do you do You guys rock
I'm terrified in mountain drives and just watching your video during your uphill turn on the switchback turned my stomach! I'd have to be in a straight jacket.
Goodness, very steep. I could hear your truck working HARD. Now the brakes will be used even in low low gear. And what she did with the going up driveway shows the sense on interstate highways of the truckers' ramp up safe way. Indeed a lovely view and I like the clouds. But WHEW. And glad she insisted on y'all. Shame on the deputy or trooper who said he hadn't heard of you? Where has he been these few years?
GDAY FROM AUSTRALIA!!!! So after watching for a while I think I have finally found the reason cars park in front of No Parking signs. It was so obvious that I nearly forgot I am a lady and swore!!! Its only the cars that CANT read who park in front of signs right. I have only one question to ask you to prove if I am right or wrong. Have you ever towed one of the wee little SMART cars? If your haven't then wow! there you go, the smart cars that can read dont park in front of signs. Gosh I hope I am right because I was nearly loosing sleep over this one!!!! (Fingers, toes, eyes and ears crossed I'm right!!) By the way LOVE your channel, you guys are bonza!!!!
Guys, I just looked at the cabin rentals up there. They start at $350 a night for 2 bedroom cabins. You better purchase all your groceries before you go there to stay. The view is beautiful, but I wouldn’t try it at night!
Jeff has MAD driving skills in that tow truck. And yeah, what that deputy said … they got someone they call all the time. They know who you are ! Maybe have a chat with the sheriff, you know like you did at the Gatlinburg PD. I would NEVER rent a cabin up there unless it was close to a major road. No way…those drop offs have 1 heck of a ‘ pucker factor ‘
I almost needed your guys help a few months ago when I was vacationing there the transmission started slipping in the mountains. I ended making it to a rental car company then at the end of the week I actually was able to drive the car home in second gear.
That's crazy here in Cumberland County they don't care how "legit" the company is you request, I've towed my father in law, a friend of my wife, and my mom after accidents, with just my car trailer, granted they weren't crazy recoveries, and were out of the roadway.
FWIW. Some cities and towns in PA have contracts where you can only use their tow company of choice, They compound this by requiring a release from the city for your car so you dont even get a choice where to tow EVEN if you pay cash. I actually pushed back on this and even got the State Attorney General involved. It was settled with me with them forgoing storage fees and gate fees. But the contract between said city (Bethlehem, PA) and tow company go on to this day. Its corruption in my eyes. I pushed back at both the accident scene and even left my truck at the tow yard for over a month pursuing the injustice with the State Attorney General.. the contract with the city actually gives the city percentages of ALL fees. To this day i think it is wrong on so many levels but after 5 weeks i just wanted my truck back with a simple tow fee like it should have been from the day it happened. Which i did get. Keep in mind my ordeal was a simple 1 vehicle accident with a 100 percent legal pickup
That poor woman's Guardian Angel was working overtime that night. It sounds like her brake fluid boiled and flashed to steam, and that is what caused the pedal to drop to the floorboards. DOT 3 & 4 brake fluids are hydrophilic, absorb moisture from the air over time, and that water is what flashes to steam. DOT 5 silicon oil based fluid has a much higher boiling point and doesn't attract water.
Looks like that county needs to invest some of that money into the roadways, it's pretty much like come to Gatlinburg etc. give us your money but enter at your own risk!!
Most likely that officer on scene has a friend that’s on there tow list, I see it a lot in my area. We will be next on the list and the call ends up going to the same company over and over again
Oh boy I'm staying at a cabin on timber ridge way next month. From the google maps satellite view the first part looks straight but I had a feeling that it's gonna be steep.
My guess is the sheriff's office has a deal with someone that is related to someone in department and they don't like to share!
usually the case or someone that kicks back a bit to the dept. however the owner has a right to have the company of their choice tow it
yeah someone getting kick backs in that town for sure!
you mean "donates to the Sheriff's political campaign", right?

To let other cars pass you have to pull way over to the side sometimes, and there's not a lot of space to do that. I also did it on a weekend when it was literally bumper to bumper traffic. Needless to say, by the time I got down I was an expert at driving my car. If I hadn't listened to my mom talk about how everyone is an idiot and how you should drive around the loop I probably would have crashed. It wasn't the smartest thing in the world for me to do, but it worked. I can now hit bubble wrap with my tire while driving on the freeway. Canyon driving is super sketchy!
Was that the switchback you pulled an RV off of? That road is terrifying, heart of gold not charging that lady. Bless your hearts! 💖
Awesome job guys she was a very blessed lady!!!!
She, is one Lucky gal. Awesome job keeping it on pavement!!
The officer sounds suspect.
Always Cool to Meet your Viewers. 👍🙏
Well, sounds like that sheriff's deputy may have been wanting to steer the car owner towards another tow service possibly. It's also insane how narrow and crappy the roads/driveways are to a lot of the rental properties. Stay safe EA Team! Keep the Good Going.
" It's also insane how narrow and crappy the roads/driveways are to a lot of the rental properties."
I get the feeling that the "engineer" who designs those roads/driveways is someone's brother-in-law's sister's nephew uncle's father, or some such.
@@ThomasKent1346 👍😆
Love your channel. Jeff and Kristen are the most caring and compassionate individuals. Love you. Everything Autos♥️👍
There’s a very steep road up Mt. Cadillac in Acadia National Park. These days it’s quite wide and well groomed, but back in the 1950s it was a lot like this. We had standard shift cars in those days and believe me we went down in first, praying all the way.
I’ve been to Cadillac mountain! Roads can be scary, but nothing like in Gatlinburg!
@@sandrafarmer5351 Oh, I agree, I’ve been to both, too. But Cadillac was pretty bad 60 years ago, nothing like today.
Watching from Guntersville Alabama love watching both of you
Wow this is intense!. Love all the content! Thanks and stay safe!
Do yuo get the feeling that the Sherrif's Deputy is getting kickbacks from another towing company?
That's the feeling I get!
😂 you guys are awesome love watching. I am in Gatlinburg now at Old Mill restaurant God Bless
She was very lucky for sure Jeff. Unreal that road. Stay safe out there buddy and keep working. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Y'all do such good work and I really enjoy watching y'all's videos.
But what do you do
You guys rock
Very lucky Lady God was helping her❤
I'm terrified in mountain drives and just watching your video during your uphill turn on the switchback turned my stomach! I'd have to be in a straight jacket.
Sorry that is so scary especially in the dark! 😮 Great job as always!
Thanks for the tour, the daytime footage did so much justice. What county was this? I know it wasn't Gatlinburg City Police.
You guys are awesome and deserve acknowledgment from local police departments.
Around here, you can get either owner request or rotation, even with road blockage. But you call the wrecker unless you want to take the rotation.
Maybe he hasn't been watching TH-cam or new to the area who knows guys but we all know you and that's all that matters. God bless you guys.
Good people all around. Glad they insisted!
So glad she was ok. Great views, love the mountains. Great video guys, stay safe out there.
"Are they legit?" Nah. The rope and a board guy spent his taxes on a used wrecker 🙄
I'd ask the deputy if he's legit.🤨
I almost needed your guys help a few months ago when I was vacationing there the transmission started slipping in the mountains. I ended making it to a rental car company then at the end of the week I actually was able to drive the car home in second gear.
Oh no! Sounds scary!!
"Are they legit?" What a strange thing to come out of his mouth. Hopefully he's new.
That's crazy here in Cumberland County they don't care how "legit" the company is you request, I've towed my father in law, a friend of my wife, and my mom after accidents, with just my car trailer, granted they weren't crazy recoveries, and were out of the roadway.
Glad the lady was okay. That looked terrifying. 2 minutes googling would have told the officer all he needed
or pick up his radio mic call into to gatlinburg pd dispatch
I would say it was just the officer that hadn't heard about Everything Auto. They have been recruiting police officers from the surrounding towns.
Jeff, next time you go up that road I am not going.
😂
Sounds like the officer had a kickback company he wanted to call. I would be calling, the sheriff's office and find out what the deal was.
I didn't know you gave free towing to loyal viewers. That's good to know. 😅😅😅
Great job the switchbacks are tough nice view keep it rolling
Most likely that officer on scene has a friend that’s on there tow list, I see it a lot in my area. We will be next on the list and the call ends up going to the same company over and over again
Oh boy I'm staying at a cabin on timber ridge way next month. From the google maps satellite view the first part looks straight but I had a feeling that it's gonna be steep.
