Being from the west coast i have visited Shipshewana while visiting sister in the motorhome in New Carlise just outside of South Bend...I have not seen the RV park but went to the Amish flee market there....Had my very first Whoopie pie there LOL !!! There is also an Amish market i really love to go to there that has so much different stuff than i see out west called Yoders....Thanks for the video....

You should check out the E&S store on the south end of Shipshewana, right on SR5 before you get to US20 on the east side of the road. It's a great place to shop as well.

@akgobears you're welcome. I lived and worked close to Shipshewana and I have a few Amish friends there. I know one of the sons of the owner of E&S (Amish family). They are great people. E&S sells a lot of things and even bulk items. Take care and God bless

We visit Shipse a LOT. We aren’t campers yet, but we like to visit the shops, especially the Davis Mercantile. And of course the furniture stores. We do slightly prefer Das Essenhaus (in Middlebury) over Blue Gate

I’ve always traveled by myself, so obviously, I’ve been the driver. But I’m really glad to see everyone learning about maneuvering their vehicle. Very important.

Thumbs up to the teaching RV things. Are they teaching about the tanks and the electrical hook ups?

Lifetime shipshewana resident here, the flea market is ONLY open tue and wed. From may thru October. Also as an employee of that gas station u showed, the amish in our area DO NOT use the kerosene for their lighting. The ones in this area are all piped with propane thru their homes. Even the apliances run on propane.

When I started watching your channel you were all about LTVs and how easy it was to navigate with it and the ability to stop and see things in your travels and not have to worry about getting into parking. Things sure have changed now that you’re lugging around a huge fifth wheel. I know Bo is big but he’s always been big. I think your preferences have changed.

Definitely. Our preferences have changed through the years and will continue to change. We've gone from tents to popup trailers to bumper pull trailers to Class B vans to Class C RVs and now Fifth Wheels. The only thing we havent ownedor tried yet is a Class A, But we still have our Class C LTV and use it often, especially for short trips and boondocking. We use the fifth wheel for longer stays. We want to know all about all RVs and undoubtedly will try others.

I don't know why everyone is so fascinated with the Amish. 🙄

I know a lot of Amish and they're some of the nicest people that you will meet. Their culture is very interesting and their food is fantastic. Maybe you should check it out someday. 😊

I agree. It is a lot of hype. Also the myth of old world hand crafted goods. The Amish stuff is no more hand made than any other stuff. They use the same power tools everyone uses and the same patterns. It’s good quality but NOT hand crafted. The Flea Market isn’t what it used to be either. It’s become an outdoor version of retail chain selling. I live very close to Shipshe and have watched it become a tourist trap. I also have Amish and Mennonite relatives so my interaction is on a personal level. They are as judgmental and bigoted as any other group.
