    Since you have a good relationship with ebay. Can you ask why sellers pay fees on taxes buyers pay collected by ebay. So every $100 collected in tax that the buyer has nothing to do with they pay about $12+ in fees to ebay. Sellers fees on taxes is just ridiculous.

    good luck on your adventure. I had a friend that is also into old cars and his new girlfriend wanted her own and they did a challenge too. they started by buying a rusty tonka toy at a swap meet for $5 and resold it on ebay and then they brought something else to resell with that money. so basicly the old car she has now that is all fixed up started with $5 investment. It can be done. I am just coming back to ebay mysel . Going to go watch your other 2 videos now.

    When you buy tape, just get one of the rolls with the dispenser that comes with it, the one that's a circle and shaped like a circle. I personally don't use my tape gun too often, but I ship small stuff.
    Also instead of a light box you can buy led lights from Walmart over in the hardware area, and some whit foam board. You can either build your own, or use foam board or poster board as a back drop

    I just watched all 3 videos and not sure on prices anymore and what video it was in but I would buy and sell that Dealer Choice car board game back in the day that was at one of the rummage sales you were at.. I use to get $75 for that game but I would have to look it up now and see what they go for. Some items sure came down over the years. Also looked like a sleigh in the one video, I brought one at auction for $75 and resold it for $500.

    Ok, just watch the other videos. I see you 2 are not total amateurs and have a leg up on most people but it is nice that you are showing how a person can start from scratch with very little operating capitol. You did come up with some nice stuff cheap to make a profit on.
    To the other People don't get get discourage if you don't make big dollars out of the gate like they did, quite often you make it by making a little at a time then all of a sudden you will find that big ticket item that brings in good money after you pay your due diligence in learning the ropes and figuring out the worth of items. that takes time. me I am relearning myself now. Stuff that sold years ago when I was in my prime isn't the same stuff that brings the money anymore so I am retraining myself. Biggest mistake I made was quitting altogether and not keeping track of how things changed in value. yes, I have stuff that went to be almost worthless here but I also have stuff that was worthless years ago that I can sell for big money now, luckily I didn't just tossed that stuff.
    Again good luck to you guys and all the other new people getting involved in reselling.

    For photos instead of the concrete or the table, for now I’d just get large white poster boards at Walmart, you can get them for less than $1. Put two together on the ground or something and you can still have a nice clean background outside.

      I concur! Even if you're buying everything and not using anything from "home", poster board seems like a really inexpensive way to get a nice, clean background. I might be alone in this, but I don't think I'd bid on a clothing item or a piece of electronic equipment that was clearly sitting on the ground. Everyone tell me how weird that is! • @angrybirdbob2881
      @angrybirdbob2881 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s essentially the same thing, ones just spread out. eBay assigns a different ID number per item so it doesn’t really matter if you schedule or list daily, gets the same outcome

    • @catrpcrew
      @catrpcrew  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Based on our experience, and many others. Daily listing is essential to having a successful eBay store. Whether that means scheduling out or listing every day. eBay likes to see an active store.

    not that I think viewers sales are happening or would impact this a ton, and I do believe these things would sell anyway, but anyone could very easily find it this store by searching the recent solds on these specific items. Just saying. I know this items would sell on eBay regardless but it’s very easy for viewers to find the store.

    • @GivingGroupCommunity
      @GivingGroupCommunity ปีที่แล้ว

      I concur. I would imagine visibility isn’t hurting the process. Still fun to watch! Hopefully eBay will take notice and ease up on their end. Sellers need buyers to see their items (without paying to “promote“).

    • @catrpcrew
      @catrpcrew  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only way to address this is by filming the series for months before releasing, which isn't really possible without ditching the community aspect of the challenge. Or we just can't show any items we get at any point, which just wouldn't be fun.

      Just keep listing and when you get to your max, and don't have any complaints then you can ask for a raise. I think you have to wait 60 or 90 days for your first raise but after that if you can meet what they give you then you can ask like every 30 days unless things have changed. if you don't bottom out your numbers then they will deny you a raise, you need to actually show them you can meet it and that you can handle it without getting negative reviews. I am just coming back myself but luckily they left me numbers alone and allowing me $15,000 a month. good luck on your ebay adventure.

  • @Saiman9000
    @Saiman9000 ปีที่แล้ว

    This may sound like a stupid question, but I was taught that the only stupid question is the one not asked. Is their negative ramifications for only posting one or two things a day and it selling nefore you put more items up? Or should a seller always have one thing in the store?

    • @catrpcrew
      @catrpcrew  ปีที่แล้ว

      Consistent traffic = consistent sales. (As long as you're listing and pricing properly). It's never a bad thing to be making sales, but I do see what you're saying. Naturally it may be smart to get some items in your store first like we did before we worked our way to daily listing. Maybe it's something we can ask eBay!

Looks good this video, but feels a bit reality fakey... Also with Offers, on average 1 on 20 or more offers is accepted. If someone has 500 listings selling 1 item a day that has nothing to do with eBay and everything to do with what they are listing and how they are listing it and what they are pricing it at. We started this series because we believe that if you are willing to put in the work you can be successful selling on eBay and we wanted to show that what we believe is true. eBay is a great platform to sell on and anyone can be successful selling on it.
