Cracking pollock that! What size engine were you trying? Looking into getting a sib to fish the Northumberland coast. Like the look of the new Hydrus 330 or a Honwave T35 but not sure how much engine I’ll need for this coast..
I was trying out a mates Tohatsu 15hp EFI as I was thinking of upping from my 6hp Suzuki to one of these. Depending on how far, and how many will be in the SiB with you, a 6hp will be fine solo. Anymore, people, I'd recommend anything over 9.9hp, even the 15, as it's around the same weight. Will you be hand or trailer launching though? Anything bigger than 3.3m, and I think you'll be in a world of pain when pulling! Thanks regarding the pollock too though!
@@chrisdavison2022 thanks a lot, really useful information! I’d be looking at a 9.9hp for two adults. Ideally use a golf trolley to move it about so I’m not going back and forth to the car once it’s in the water! Need to go and see some on the flesh first. What’s it like launching at newbiggin? Can you leave the car in the boat area or do you have to still use the church car park bit?
You still have to use the main car park. They don't want anyone blocking the prom. You can set up next to the playground, but you MUST move your car to the car park, or the inspector will actually ticket you! Launching a SiB at Newbiggin is an absolute PAIN to launch solo! The sand is like sugar, so you're more dragging than pulling your SiB. It gets worse come summer after the beach cleaner machine goes through and with people generally walking about on it.
@@chrisdavison2022 thanks for the info on the parking, bit of a deal breaker on the beach though! Wouldn’t fancy driving up to Beadnell every time I wanted to fish from the sib. Any other beaches nearby that are decent for launching from near a car park?
Good fishing chris nice size pollock well done watch out for the potlickers ha ha 😂 👍
😅 Can't think why..!?
Good effort mate. Gotta love Rabala 😉
Good to see your vids again . I've missed the cries of "fish on" ..
I was almost forgetting on what fish look like too!
Lovely pollock mate, well worth being out just for that 😎
Think you need to 'unretire' too! You had more time back then to fish!
Ha ha ain’t that the truth 🤣
