Great videos Ice machine 411 guy!!!! It's difficult to be 💯 percent such every call but you have excellent troubleshooting commonsense skills. I have to go behind so many slackers and fools
Yes very hard to be 100%. We are all just trying to do our best. Thank you for your commitments. Hopefully your situation improves. I could see how that would be rough
I learned from an older tech just to sand the ice thickness probe down with sand paper if it’s doing that. Assuming you get the layer completely sanded off it should work just fine
That would probably work just fine. I’d probably do that if I didn’t have the new part on hand. Definitely a good quick fix. Definitely done it myself.
Sounds about right. Two call backs and 4 ice cycles later I learned that lesson. The machine will run just fine when the ice thickness probe starts off dry. After a couple of cycles the probe will get wet and send a ready to harvest signal to the control board. This will happen before there’s enough ice to fall and knock the bin switch open to trigger the end of harvest. This causes the machine to shut off on a long harvest safety.
Excellent work and explanation. I sure appreciate you showing the part numbers. Keep it up!
I’ll try to do more of that.

Just as long as you don’t go crazy on the sanding. I’ve done the sanding myself
👍👍👍

I have had a similar issue where intermittently water was putting it into harvest prematurely. I had to thicken it up. Never heard back.
